Those are some decent games. I haven't heard of some of the others though. I'm guessing "Link" is the second Zelda.

Picked up a complete White DS Lite, Animal Crossing DS, Dogs (GBA), Shaun Palmer Snowboarding (GBA), and Nightmare Before XMas (GBA) for $60.

Other than one cracked hinge the DS is in great shape. Bought it for my next door neighbor's daughter who mentioned that she was saving up babysitting money for a new DS Lite. Figured if she did not want it, I could sell everything and at least break even. Sold her just the system for $60. She was thrilled even though there was a cracked hinge. I told her and her parents that if it caused a problem that I would give her the money back. Now she can use her extra money to buy a couple or three games.

Has anyone had a catastrophe with a broken hinge on their DS? This one seemed to be fine, it didn't move or get bigger when I opened and closed it.

My original DS' hinge broke.
Eventually the wires in the top screen shorted out because of it, and nothing would show up on the top.

Hey everyone!

After stumbling upon this website a couple of weeks ago, I found an interest to create my own collection of old video games and consoles. I have no experience about pricing or know whats rare/unique, but some of your posts were very helpful regarding fair prices and what to look out for.

The Story

Well I was stumbling on craigslist late at night, and found an odd ad. The ad described some old video games that her and her husband have no room for, and would be willing to let the lot go for $40. I e-mailed her, asked what it included, and she told me she really didn't have the time to go through it all, but that there were a lot of items. I arranged a time and a place to meet, and I have to say that I was pleasently surprised. She had two huge boxes loaded with all sorts of goodies - I didn't even want to negociate the price after seeing how many items she was actually giving me.

This is everything that was included in the lot.

Price - $40

Wow, nice way to start your collection.

Just after a quick glance, those stick out.
The bolded ones especially.
That was a really quick skim. Other people will be able to pick out some more probably.
Congrats!
I don't know much about gameboy/gamecube, so I left them out.

Picked these PSX games up last night for $20, complete with cases and manuals:

Tomba (!)
Crash Team Racing
Spyro The Dragon
Monster Rancher Battle Card Episode II
Digimon World
Digimon World 2
Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories

Thanks a bunch!

You got an AMAZING deal.

You really should play some of those Super Nintendo games, you have some of the best games ever made.

Super Mario RPG – Legend of the Seven Stars
Chrono Trigger
Final Fantasy II
Final Fantasy III
Super Mario Kart
Super Metroid
*All of these are worth at least $20 each.

Thank you so much for the info! I have been playing the SNES almost non-stop since I got it. I have never owned a nintendo (Started with Sega Genesis) and let me tell you, I have been missing out. Super Mario RPG is one of the greatest games that I have ever played - I enjoy it more than my xbox360 games! I don't intend to sell the games that I bought recently - I just want to know what is rare/worth something if I ever stumble upon duplicates :).

I had a good score today, I happened to look at craigslist just a couple minutes after this was posted and I didn't even want to try and haggle and miss out on the deal. I paid the $45 he was asking and got

all complete

:ps3:
Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
Motorstorm

:ps2:
ATV Offroad Fury 3
Gran Turismo 4
Bully
Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories
True Crime NYC
Shadow of the Colossus (GH)

It would have been worth it for just the PS3 games, so I'm pretty happy. Everything's up for trade if you're interested.

Let's just say that Chrono Trigger alone for $40 isn't a bad deal.

Go to eBay. Click Advanced Search. Check the completed listings box. Search each item. Get an idea of the magnitude of your score.

God damn that's nice for Tomba and Digimon World 2. Those are both high on my list for things I hope to find this summer, and both in the $40s for value, if I recall.

I got a great deal today on craigslist. I got a used 40 GIG ps3 with a warranty. He also threw in GTA4, Fight Night round 3, and Madden 2008. I got all of this for $250, and i'm thinking of trading in the games since i already have GTA 4 for the 360.

For $55 shipped, I'm getting this. Is it a good deal? I like to think so.

2 PS2 Memory Cards, multi-tap and then (all black label) Xenosaga I, Xenosaga II, Xenosaga III, Jak III, Viewtiful Joe, La Pucelle Tactics, Super Bust-A-Move 2, Atelier Iris 3, DBZ Musashi, and Dark Cloud. I think Pucelle and Jak III are without the original case, but still, all 3 Xenosagas, BAM, Atelier, and Dark Cloud to me are will worth it.

I wouldn't go over $40. FYE/Media Play/whatever the hell they call themselves now sell the Xenosagas black label for $4.99, Viewtiful Joe is about the same. I could see going for it just for Dark Cloud + La Pucelle, but meh, there's really nothing else in there that isn't common. A nice lot, but a $40 lot. Not a $55 lot. :)

well see, he was actually charging $40 for local pickup. but i live in ohio and he lives in philly, so he said it'd be $55 shipped. i agreed because i haven't played ANY of those games (save for joe) so i bit.

Good call then. Play the Xenosaga series first. Absolutely amazing.

I just went out and got myself a 360 on Craigslist. My first ever Craigslist buy.

It was some broke-ass redneck couple who got it and then decided they couldn't afford it. It works just fine, but I still need to test XBL on it. Also, the console has never been opened before.

So here is what I got:

Xbox 360 Console and 20GB HDD, Power and A/V Cables. It is a 2006 Model with Samsung Drive
1 Controller, however it missing the battery case. But it does come with a Play and Charge cable.
The Godfather (Complete)

All that for $150

120gb PS3 Sony Playstation 3 and 14+ games, 2 blu-rays, 40 movies - $650

120gb Sony Playstation 3 (ps3)
This was originally a 60gb, upgraded to 120gb.
This means that it is fully backwards compatible with all PS2 and PS1 games (unlike the 40gb model)

If requested, I can put the original 60gb HD back in.

- Console, original box
- 2 Wireless controllers and USB chargers
- all original cables

GAMES
- Gran Turismo 5: Prologue
- Metal Gear Solid 4
- Grand Theft Auto 4
- Call of Duty 4
- Resistance: Fall of Man
- Warhawk
- Motorstorm
- Rock Band (and all instruments)
- Drum kit
- Wireless Guitar
- microphone
- 30ish songs that I've bought (including Metallica, NiN, Boston, The Cars, etc)

- Shadow of the Colossus (ps2)
- Final Fantasy 12 (ps2)
- Devil May Cry (ps2)
- Pixeljunk Monsters
- flOw
- some others that i don't remember

Blu-Ray titles:
- Planet Earth collection (3 discs) (Original BBC version)
- The Fountain

I also have 40ish movies at near DVD quality saved on the hard drive for easy viewing. This is a random collection, but there's a lot of Oscar winners in there. These can be deleted if wished.

Should I pick this up?

I got a pretty sweet score last night. Lady posted a list of Gamecube and DS games for sale for $5 each. No notables and no conditions listed for the Gamecube games, but the DS game highlights were Mario v Donkey Kong 2, Mario 64, Wario, Metroid Hunters, Mario and Luigi Partners in Time.

No email posted, but a phone number was and it was in Highland Park, which is very close to a housing development I am having built and checking on every few nights.

I jumped on it just as it was posted and called her up. She said she works late, but will call me when she is home. I missed her the first night, and she told me a TON of people were calling about the games, but she would hold the ones I wanted for me. Really, she was SUPER COOL (thank you Lucy!!!).

So I met up with her last night, and got Mario v. Donkey Kong 2, Mario 64, Wario Master of Disguise, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Mario and Luigi Partners in Time for $25. And they are all complete and mint. Pure sweetness.

Mario v. Donkey Kong 2 and Wario Master of Disguise have already been added to my tradelist, BTW.

I received a surprise email a couple of days ago from someone I had bought some SNES stuff from back in the fall. At the time he said he had lots of NES stuff too back where he grew up and that he would get in touch when he got it all together. I didn't hear anything back from him, so I figured he had either forgot about it or had second thoughts. I responded back and said I was interested in what he had.

In the interim, I got on CL and saw a listing for a GBA SP and games that I was interested in and emailed the seller. Turned out to be the same guy! He said he didn't even think about the GBA stuff for me. We met today and here is what I picked up. Price is a little higher than what I would have offered on a yard sale trip, but the guy was really nice about getting back in touch. It doesn't sting as bad when the person you are dealing with is pretty cool.
which is very close to a housing development I am having built
:whistle2:s

So is the housing market still decent for you? Ours is utter crap. (lost 30 grand on a condo we bought 3 years ago)

Almost got Pikmin 1 and 2, Harvest Moon, 4 or so Mario titles, and 4 wavebirds for $40. (All gamecube, by the way.)

The lady traded them in at gamestop after we had already agreed on the deal. :whistle2:(

I scored Carnival Games, Cooking Mama:Cook Off and Metriod 3, all for $40. I passed on Golden Compass, Shrek The Third, Soul Caliber Legends and Girlz Racing (ugh!). Also, I swapped a dog chewed DS Lite for a PSP with 2 games today. CL is good to me the past 2 weeks, after scoring a complete Rock Band bundle (360) for $60.

Ouch, well LV ran up so fast it came down just as fast. Hang in there - if you can rent it at positive cash flow and hold it long term, it will rebound eventually.

For us, yes the prime spots of LA are finally getting brutalized, but it's no where near as bad as inland where they REALLY overbuilt (909 - Riverside/San Bernadino and other exurbs), Stockton, Vegas, Arizona, Florida etc...at least not yet. Plus this is land that my family has held for a very long time, and I'm having rental properties built on it that I will hold, so it's not hurting me at all.

I have a couple of condos a few blocks off Rodeo Dr. in Beverly Hills that I'm planning on dumping as soon as I can, though, that are probably down 25% from peak. But still way over what I paid, so it is what it is. I'm looking at long term, not flipping for a quick and easy buck. If you're slow and steady like me, you should be all right in the long run.

Besides, haven't you heard that a downturn like this one is when fortunes are not only lost but often made? There is plenty of, and will continue to be, plenty of opportunity to buy for the long term.

Super Mario Kart
Super Mario All-Stars
Zelda
Paperboy 2
Sports games

Picked this nice SNES bundle up for $25. Talking to the guy, I was the 2nd email out of 45 that he received. I lucked out cause the first email was a no-show. So excited to get back into the SNES.

I lucked out and got an xbox 360, with box and all the various cables and accessories for the 20GB model, 2 controllers (one wireless), and 4 games. They are marvel ultimate alliance, ncaa football 08, fight night round 3, and halo 3 all for $140.

Best deal I've seen around. I really should probably sell it for profit, but I kind of want to hang onto it for a while and enjoy my great deal. I'm going to sell most of the games though.

Yeah, I wish we had the money to buy property for rent. I'm talking about our own personal condo in which we live. :bomb:

It'll take about another 2-3 years to recoup what was lost. By that point, I think we'll be ready to sell/move into a new house.

Owning/selling land is one of the best things you can do to make a successful living. Kudos to you! :)

so does $100 seem reasonable for a like-new psp? i'm pretty sure it's a slim. going to go look at it later and i'm not sure if it'd be disrespectful to offer a little lower (like $80).

Premium Xbox 360, plus 15 games.

Call of duty 4, Bioshock, Guitar Hero 2, Gears of War, Fifa 08, Fifa 07, NBA 2k7, Madden 07, Splintercell, Need for speed Most Wanted, Ridge Racer, Burnout, FEAR, Ghost Recon, Tony Hawk

Xbox Premium comes with 2 wireless controllers and both power and av cables, plus charging kit for one controller

Guitar Hero 2 comes with guitar for $250

Good deal?

I'd buy it in a heart beat and sell most if not all those games to make it sweeter.

So long as the console itself works.
