The Official Craigslist Finds Thread!

Damn just let another deal slipped. I emailed the seller last might, but no reply and the listing is gone. The seller was selling a $30 bundle thats worth at least $130
I think I got my find for the year:

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (complete & minty PS2) for a whopping $5

\\:D/ :bouncy: :booty:
I think this feeling of anger I'm feeling is more jealousy...

Kicking myself for not getting back to a guy in time, an hour too late apparently. Let a $10 import naruto psp fighter slip out of my hands, an alright deal I suppose, but the usual distractions brought me away =/

Just a word of advice - don't go too far with the offers to make it an insulting lowball. I sometimes sell excess video game stuff I have on craigslist cheap, and I know it's cheap, but I don't want to go through the hassle of listing it on fleabay. It's when I'm not looking to profit or anything, I just need to get rid of it.

The people that send me ridiculous offers don't get replies. What nearly always happens is the person won't hear back from me, will realize it was an a-hole offer and offer more money right away. Most times, it's already gone.

So if you really want something, don't get too greedy..

This really doesn't relate. The differences are:

1. You know what you have, and you know what it's worth.
2. You don't NEED the money.

When you deal with Craigslist people, they either don't know what they have, or they are in desperate need of the money. I know it sounds like "oh great, let's take advantage of them", but that's not necessarily the case, as people may make a low offer, but they aren't forcing the seller to accept it.

This. That MvC2 was offered at $5.00. The seller stated the price and I was more than happy to pay it :)

Often times I'll throw out a value I'd be happy paying and if they aren't happy with it, oh well. No big loss. Better deals come and go. When people ask me about CL and ebay their first instinct is to go with CL because it's free but then I tell them that it's like an online garage sale with people getting rid of their stuff for (usually) really cheap. Ebay stuff will cost you more, but they'll have what you want.

I was speaking specifically to a few posts I've read over the last 5 pages that mention lowballs that aren't responded to, and subsequent attempts to re-contact the seller. I disagree with you. The people who have no idea what their item is worth are rare these days, with ebay and the internet providing easy price checking. I would say that more often than not, people have a good idea of what their item is worth.

I was also saying this to those people who come upon something they really want badly. It's fine to gamble, I think anyone posting on craigslist expects offers lower than their listing price. If someone is really wanting a particular item, sometimes its better not to go too ridiculously low.

I bought a PlayStation 1 SCPH-1001 this weekend with 3 standard controllers, 3 analog controllers, 1 wireless controller, 2 memory cards, 1 multi-tap and 12 games. These games were:

 1. Final Fantasy VII
 2. Breath of Fire III
 3. Diablo
 4. Crash Bandicoot 1
 5. Crash Bandicoot 2
 6. Crash Bandicoot 3
 7. Driver
 8. NBA 2000
 9. Teken 2
 10. Nascar 2000
 11. Legend of Mana
 12. Pandemonia

These were all BLACK labels and NON were greatest hits. I got this all for the WHOPPING price of $20! Best deal I've come across so far on craigslist.

You are actually very wrong, you'd be absolutely surprised at the amazing deals I've gotten from people online that just simply had no clue whatsoever that their stuff was worth what it was. Not even Craigslist, I've gotten from people over Instant Messenger, sales forums on other websites, hell...even eBay itself.

If people had a good idea of what their stuff was worth, the Yard Sale forum wouldn't be as big as it is.

MvC2 on CS for 5? I don't see it. But nice find. Pretty get rid of it quick, for the value is about to dive bomb?

That last sentence is hilarious. Is it a question? I know the value could take a hit if it's found out that there's indeed going to be a port for the 360 & PS3, but I'm keeping this one.

The ad is gone now (it was gone about 3 hours after I picked up the game) otherwise I'd post proof. And I knew I had to jump on it otherwise it'd be gone. The guy had a pic of the game and everything on his ad. I was flabbergasted.

I think I got a nice deal on CL today. For $20 I picked up a modded playstation 1 with two memory cards and two controllers plus the following games:
-Alundra
-Diablo
-Gauntlet Legends
-Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter
-Silent Hill (Black Label)
-Tomb Raider 2
-Warcraft 2: The Dark Saga

All except Diablo (Disc Only) are complete and in fairly good condtion. (Mostly a little light scratching and the like.) Not bad at all.
EDIT: And I just sold Diablo on eBay for $23.50. Gotta love it.

It's in a rental case(black), so chances are they're trying to sell it and get enough to cover the cost the store will charge them for not returning it after the rental period and then some.

Honestly, while the lyrics to that song may have been important, the instrumental parts of it seemed to carry the song well enough for my liking. So, I've resigned myself to just getting the censored version when it comes out this coming week.

lol best haul ever was my 27 inch lcd 720p for a whopping $20.
the reason? a small thin line through the bottom of the screen.
Had it for 8 months now and still kicking strong :p.

That's just sick...

One of my better finds this year, a brand new still in the package MS wireless controller for 360 for 10 bucks. I'm still trying to get that amazing haul, though.

Got this on Friday:

60GB PS3 w/ SixAxis and AV/Power cables
SOCOM: Confrontation w/ Headset
Metal Gear Solid 4
Call of Duty 4
MLB 08: The Show
Socom: Combined Assault

All for $375. PS3 was very dusty but a compressed air can took care of that. Very minor surface scratching, great condition. The games had some fingerprints, but that was about it. Now I finally have a PS3 :bouncy:

Oh man, I can't believe I actually got FF7, FF8, FF9, FF Chronicles, FF Anthology, Chrono Cross and Super Bust-A-Move for $45...I'm still in shock...wow...

I got about 250 vhs tapes for free.

They even delivered them to my house. ^_^

It seems like a good amount of them are disney ones with the plastic cases. I can use the cases to print out covers for and stick my cartridge games in. The rest are going to bookman's for store credit, even if you get like 15 cents each for them it adds up. Most were drama, romance, or kids. Nothing I would really want to watch.

I got my find of a lifetime two weeks ago. I scored a practically new bowflex for a $100, extreme 2 model, guy said he used it five times. I almost wish i didn't plan on using it, probably sell it for $400-500.

Seems like the stupidity thread gets more love so i'll post some recent finds from the past few weeks

Ibook G4 that didn't show anything on screen for 50 bucks, I asked the guy what really happened to it and he admitted his brother spilled beer on it. I get it home and look at it, turns out the screen was showing a picture it was just dim. A 12 dollar inverter board off ebay later and I have a fully functional Ibook.... that smells like beer under the keyboard

Yesterday I got a Gateway Mx6445 for 50 from a nice lady who just didn't know what to do with two laptops, all she did was take out the hard drive.

Super Mario All*Stars (Complete)
Wheel of Fortune: Deluxe Edition

$25

Craigslist just added a page for my area back around April or May. I remember seeing this same exact bundle around May for $65 IIRC, it's not hard for me to remember such a thing as I've only seen a handful of listings on CL for games older then PSX/N64 over the last 6 months. I saw it listed again Monday night but this time with a price of $25. I dropped an e-mail saying I was interested and didn't try offering less as in the listing it was mentioned that it was worth more so I figured the seller had a relatively good idea of what it sold for online so low balling or even trying to offer $20 didn't seem polite/like a good idea. I meet the guy today and was happy to see that both of the Mario games were complete which wasen't mentioned in the listing.

My one buddy used to use his as a coat rack. A quite expensive coat rack, if you ask me.
Whats the usual price for a 20 GB PS3?

Listing states: 20 GB Ps3, 2 Controllers, and GTA IV asking $150.00
300-400

LOL, I've been pretty busy with other stuff the past couple of months, but I had a sweet score last night off of craigslist.

Cart only Megaman X, Donkey Kong Country, Final Fight, and Ogre Battle SNES for $5. Ogre Battle was the only thing I wanted, I already have the rest so they will be cleaned, tested, and going on the trade list shortly.

Dude hasn't updated his ad yet:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sfv/tag/923535370.html

I was thinking about making an offer for a couple of the PS2/GC games since he wanted $80 for everything I figured I could cherry pick some good stuff for $10 to $20 or so, but meh, I already have all of them, and there really wasn't anything all that great for resale.

Resident Evil (Gamecube) (remake)
Odin Sphere (PS2)
Zone of the Enders (PS2)
Valkyrie Profile 2 (ps2)
Devil Summoner (ps2)

--------------------------------

On another note though, I missed out on what would have been a sweet deal for me. Guy had a bunch of systems advertised, including a Virtual boy (COMPLETE!) with Marioland and Warioland. I sent him a note asking how much he wanted for just those, and he sends me back a note saying $20. So I'm ready to go get it, he tells me generally where he is located, I tell him I'm ready to go get it tomorrow around noon, give me your number so I can call you when I am close, blah blah blah. NO RESPONSE. The guy has cut off all communication.:cry::cry:

FINALLY A GREAT DEAL! I just picked up Lunar 1 & 2 complete (boxed ones w/ soundtracks, etc. in mint condition), FF7 Black label complete (mint), FF9 black label complete (mint), "D" complete, Stranglehold SE ps3 (mint) and Turok ps3 (mint).

All for $100!!

Apparently there were tons of offers on the table, but the other people couldn't get the money together until next week, I said I could get it to them now and they accepted. I'm still in complete awe...

"I am selling a brand new Xbox 360 (in original packaing) signed by the developer of the Halo games (Bungie). Also included is the Limited Collector's Edition of the Halo 3 game.

I am selling the system because I already have a custom Xbox 36O that I really like and just don't need two. I worked at Xbox for over 8 years and would be happy to prove its authenticity. Feel free to come check it out. Last note, some of the proceeds will go to Charity.

It would be the ultimate Holiday Gift for any Halo fan.
