So, that huge haul I got Thanksgiving 2007 for $500 (including hundreds of games, some boxed, a sealed FF Mystic Quest, and a stack of Neo Geo carts)? I had a box of 100 or so shitty NES games from it, and I mean SHITTY. There were like seven Gyromites, all the games had faded labels or markers and were dusty as hell. I stopped by Play'n'trade a month ago, and they said that they would only take 1/3 of them and only offered $8 for the 30 or so they had cherry picked. I declined then, and I just sold the lot for a cool $100! (So far, after getting rid of the highly profitable or highly useless/cluttery stuff, that's $150 for Mystic Quest, $150 for the NeoGeos, $50 for the Atari games, $75 for the Game'n'watches and tabletops, and now, with $100 for this, I finally made a profit in addition to the HUGE amounts I added to my personal collection!)
Twenty minutes later, I took that cash to someone who was advertising a NES and 34 games for $100. I looked at the stuff, all three Mario's, Castlevania, Metroid, TMNT2, MegaMan 2, mostly in good shape, no boxes...and offered $40. We settled on $50.
Hopefully I'll be able to get $30 or so for the console and ten bucks each for some of the big name games, add the handful in there that I didn't have to my collection, and trade/sell the rest.
tl; dr: 100 useless NES games become 34 good NES games, a console, and $50.
