worth it?
http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/clt/1214054072.html
Oh fuck yeah it is. ESPECIALLY if he's just going to throw them out. I hope you swooped on those, with at least a $5-10 initial offer and maybe get them for $20-25 max. Loose He-Man/MOTU figures usually sell on average for $5-10 each minimum if they're in great shape, complete with original accessories etc. A LOT more in some cases, though obviously mint figure on mint card (MOC or MOMC) is ideal and the most valuable - especially graded. And that original vinyl MOTU case is worth money, too.

The GoBot guardian (the large ship piece, back left), from the other pic, is worth a few bucks...there are at least 3 4 original Transformers in that pic as well. The purple/black Insecticon, Shrapnel I think his name is, the pullback spring action figure (light grey/white appendages and blue body), forgot his name...TopSpin or TwinTwist. And Motormaster, the light grey/black torso one (he's the semi with trailer that is the leader of the Stunticons and torso of Menasor...a combiner). Those are worth some decent coin. The others, I can't recognize immediately from the pic. The light grey/white with pink is also one, I think that's the leader of the Terrorcons, another combiner, I think his name is Sinner Twin. I don't immediately recognize the small dark grey vehicle changer in the bottom left, the helicopter robot on the right, or the other one in the back by SinnerTwin. i think that might be Repugnus, but not sure. I hope you picked them up for cheap.
:wall:#-o:shock: That's all I gotta say. I never find ANY of the good stuff like this around here. Then again, I really doubt I'd even keep any of them. I have ZERO room as it is between my games, guides and movies right now. The few Transformers I have from when I was a kid are mainly stuffed in a brown bag at the back of my closet, except for the few I have on my computer cart(Jetfire, Perceptor, Cliffjumper).

I'm still trying to find a non expensive copy of the collected version of the first 2-3 seasons of the G1 cartoon, aside from the overpriced box set that FYE sells.
I thought that "International" complete G1 cartoon boxed set was a Chinese bootleg. Or was it an official release for various Asian markets? In any case, just hang in there - they are FINALLY re-releasing allegedly "remastered" seasons of the cartoon, starting with Season 1 coming out again shortly, as in, NEXT WEEK! And only $20 for season 1.

Same with GI Joe, except season 1.1 comes out July 20 something, and it's $25. They are capitalizing on the movies...

The thing is, I didn't think that that bootleg one was really being sold anywhere except Amazon, but the one manager from FYE who I met from Craigslist said she bought it for herself for $100.

But it IS a special order kind of thing unfortunately, much like the San Andreas or Vice City box set soundtracks, which are STILL fuckin' $50 each.

Wondering if I should go ahead with a trade on CL. It is for a used psp fat and 2 games, no scratches system or games, includes charger. For my following 360 games:

GH Aerosmith with wired guitar (pd $10)
Gears of War (Pd $14)
Gears of War 2 (pd $22) disc only
Burnout Paradise (pd $15)

Guy was asking $80 or for 360 games. So I'd be getting it for $61 essentially. Thought it was decent but not sure. Might want a slim but have had a fat and slim before and the fat just seemed to feel better.

Last week I got a pretty nice score off of my wanted ad, and I thought it would be months before I got another deal. Try a week, and this one blows the first one out of the water. Heck, I've been on this site since 2003 and never got a deal worth posting until this year, and now I got two great finds in the same week.

So Wednesday this guy responds to my wanted ad, saying he's leaving the country soon and wants to get rid of his game collection. He told me in his email that otherwise he'd throw everything in the trash or give it to Salvation Army, but he'll give me everything for 60$. I wanted to tell him well if you're gonna throw it away anyway why not just give it to me, but I thought better of it and told him I'd come take a look. In the end I was very happy to pay him the 60$. Here's what I got:

NES (not working) with all hookups and 2 controllers

whats wrong with the NES? I recovered a dead one by cleaning the 72 pin with alcohol and bending up the pins and it workks like a charm now

Yeah, see about cleaning or replacing the NES and the Genesis connectors. Does it turn on and simply blink, or throw up a blank screen?

In any case, that's a great score. But you should have tried to negotiate anyway since as you said, he was going to throw it out or give it away to the Salvation Army. At least knock off $20 and get it for $40. But again, it's well worth the $60...I'm just greedy and always thinking of pushing a great deal to be even better, like I am sure many of us. Congrats.

Yeah, with the NES Im sure it's the connector, it powers on but shows a solid yellow screen. I don't have much experience with the Genesis, it powers on and loads the game, but the screen keeps sliding down vertically. I can play the games (barely), but it's black and white, no sound, and distorted.

About negotiating, sometimes I'll do it, but in this case I didn't mind paying the price at all. The guy kept digging through his stuff and always finding new games, he even jokingly said at one point that will all the new stuff he found he should've asked for more. Plus everything is in great condition (well, except the consoles that don't work).

Also does anyone know of a good way to get marker off of cartridges?

Okay, the NES probably just needs a good cleaning, or worst case replace the 72 pin connector. Try to clean the connectors on a couple of the carts with a pink eraser tip from a pencil, some rubbing alcohol, etc.

As for the Genesis, I seem to recall reports of the AV boards going bad. The scrolling screen might be adjusted via the vertical hold - is this an old TV? And you are running it through the RF connection, right? If so, you could try switching the channels from 3 to 4 or vice versa.

Not the best deal ever but going to get :ps2: ICO- complete and :gc: Chibi Robo- complete for $25 after work.

Picking up :ps3: Cross Edge- complete for $30 later today too.

That's a nice find NaturalHatTrick you shouldn't feel bad at all for not trying to lower the price, the only thing you should feel bad about is not taking a picture of that stuff since it's definately worth doing so ;)

The pics I put up didnt work? I can see them, I dont post on cag a lot so maybe I did something wrong.

This has always worked for me. Take a little Goo Gone and apply it to the marker stains. Let it soak in a little, maybe for a minute. Make absolutely sure no excess Goo Gone gets into contact with any labels.

Once it is soaked in for a minute or so, I like to use a Mr. Clean Eraser. It takes it right off. If you just use the Mr. Clean Eraser on it, it often leaves a slight bit of marker stain you can still notice. Another method is to apply a little Goo Gone directly to the Mr. Clean Eraser in place of the light water you're supposed to, and this works well also. Simply scrub gently until it's all gone.

As for pics, I don't see any at all. Did you upload them to say, snapfish or photobucket, and then link to them via the little image button above while editing?

Okay, as promised, here are the pics from that Transformers lot I picked up last week...had to wait for the Lakers championship presentation/interviews, WOOTS!!! I've got another monster craigslist score I've set up for Tuesday. Wish me luck on that one as well.

Anyway, on with the show. This collection was NUTS. I finished sorting and cataloging everything, and integrating it into my collection, and I think now, altogether, I'm missing only maybe 10 or 20 different figures from all of G1, very few of which are major. I now have all of the original Autobots (I think I have everyone up to Kup), and the only Decepticon I'm missing is Skywarp. Of course, it had to be the cool, bad ass black F15. Oh and Ramjet, I'm missing him. Anyone else, I don't really think is noteworthy. I have complete/mint sets of all of the combiners, Autobot and Decepticon.

As far as doubles go, I now have 2 complete, original Predakings both in perfect/excellent condition (both with the nice diecast metal pieces in all of the Predacons), 2 complete/mint (1 mint in box) Trypticons, 2 complete/mint (1 mint in box) Scorponoks, 2 complete/mint (1 mint in box) Omega Supremes, etc. etc. It's pretty damn ridiculous. I have dupes of so many key/major/large figures and combiners, my friend said I should get a booth at next year's botcon to sell them all. But with the movie sequel out in a couple of weeks, I'm going to see what kind of money I can get for some of these. The rest will be sealed away, maybe for the childrens' college fund.

That boxed/mint Fortress Maximus is awesome. Here go the pics:

Pic 1 is just of the entire lot, before I unpacked everything. There were 3 huge cardboard boxes just filled with more Complete in Box/Mint in Box figures, and another 2 more huge cardboard boxes filled with loose but complete and mint figures (they're stacked behind the large boxed figs...you can see a couple of them).

The white robot holding the two big guns, with a big black square on his right side chest? That's Metroplex, the Autobot City. Complete and Mint in Box, original release? Runs some decent coin, worth at least a couple of hundred bucks, hell probably even more if it's mint in a mint box.

Although there was a reissue late last year/early this year from Takara Japan, basically in the same box (but says "Reissue"), which offers collectors a cheaper alternative to an original. I believe the reissue runs around the $70-100 range.

Wow... after those pics I'm really hatin'. Of course I wouldn't have had the money to toss up for them. Those are some awesome toys! Congrats on the "instant" collection.

not the greatest find in the world, but got a 360 with a 20 gig hard drive for 80. however, no power cord, but came with a wireless controller, mad cats wired controller, component cables, and midnight club la. I'm probably just going to keep the hard drive, sell the rest as an "arcade". I'm just trying to decide if its worth it to buy the power brick, or just sell it without.

I've got an email in on a Game Cube with two wavebirds, Super Smash Bros. Melee, mario kart double dash and Star Wars Rebel Strike for $30. I really want those controllers!

Awesome deal, good luck. I'm still making a mint selling used Wavebirds on amazon. I don't think it will last once the new Wii wireless Wavebird-esque controllers come out, but for now I'm still swooping on them when I find them. Just sold my last one last night for well over what you're going to get that bundle for.

Yes, that's the one. Thanks for the info. I'm going to call my parent tonight to make sure that they haven't give it away to my younger cousin. The toys in my family sometimes run through generation. I played with my uncle mint collection of toys when I was young.

I got a decent deal last night, all for $ 100 - X360 - RE5, SF4, Terminator Salvation, COD WAW, and Hawx from a skater boy.

He got in touch with me and said that if I wanted it, it would be $40 since I was the second person to respond. I'm still going to bite on it.

I've also got 3 other purchases today

$45- a game cube, 2 mem card, 2 contollers, 9 games (Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition is one of them)- guy told me that his son wanted Zelda so he pullec it out of the deal. I passed since the rsst of the games were old sports games
$20- Fat PS2 that doesn't play ps1 games(modded?) with a network adapter
$45- :360: games- all complete- Gear of War 2, Call of Duty Modern Warfare, Call of Duty World at War- getting them tomorrow
Karkyco, where are you selling these? Ebay? I'm only getting 24 on Amazon, but at the time I last checked, it seemed like they were only getting that much on Ebay also.
I sold them on amazon marketplace, but instead of listing them under the "Used" selections, I list my stuff under the "Collectible" selections in the drop down menu.

Because usually, there are no "collectible" listings to compete with and if there are, 95%+ of the time the listings under "collectible" are CRAZY high, so your listing will look spectacular. I sold my last two for $35 or 40, gotta double check which it was.

I probably will if they contact me back.

ya, i'd take the system with it, throw a few crappy games on it then pass it along. usually i just get a few sports/movie games for ten or fifteen bucks add them on to the system and then i would throw it up for around 50.

If I were her son, I'd be very pissed that she sold my shit. That's like the ad I saw for some woman offering her ex bf's stuff up, including a fat model PS2 and about 60 games and a shitload of peripherals for $75-100 a while back.

I found an ad for 2 NESes, 1 controller, 1 Advantage Controller, Game Genie for SNES, and 24 NES games for $40. Me and my brother split it, here's what I got.

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1873/img5869x.jpg
The NES does not work (flashing light) Worst case (probably) I just need to replace the pin connector, which is under $10. I let him have the working one since I already have one.

Some great games
The games he took:
Duck Hunt
Contra
Punch-Out
TMNT
Mario 3
Willow
Kabuki (something)
Wrestle Mania
Pro Wrestling
I can't remember the others.

And where do I put those games when not in use?

Thats quite possibly the greatest thing I have ever seen.

Well, I met with the lady and I guess she is selling all of her sons stuff because he died earlier this week. When she said that I knew that I couldn't lowball her, so I think I might have actually overpaid. I'll list everything later on so I can get some opinions. Her son got his wisdom teeth pulled and within three days he died of an infection he got from getting them pulled.

Wow, though I'm young and childless, of course..., I could still imagine her feeling, the mother who lose her son to infection from teeth, I would rather sell his stuff than letting them sit there around in the house well knowing he's already dead. These stuff would remind me of the loss.

I just need some quick advice.

A guy wants to trade me his fable 2 with a guide and left 4 dead for my infinite undiscovery with a guide and dead space.

I just picked up a guide for dead space (pennied out), and I'm trying to figure out if the trade is still worth it. Is dead space worth a play through? (its been on my backlog for awhile and I just haven't gotten around to it yet). Should I go through with the trade and just ask him to throw something else in the mix? Any help is appreciated help, thanks.

I'd do it but that's just because I tend to find Dead Space and Infinite Undiscovery at cheaper prices then Fable II and Left 4 Dead.

any thoughts on a dead space ultra limited edition sealed for $100. This can only go up IMO. Not sure if a quick ebay flip is worth it though. If anyone was looking for something like this I'd be willing to pick up and ship also.

I hope you bought that. Weren't only like a 1000 made? I could be wrong. Anyways, picking up the Daxter PSP bundle with everything minus the charger tomorrow for $50.00. Lady claims it's in great shape, and that it was her little kids. Was not really interested in a PSP since I just bought a 360, but for $50 bucks I figured I might as well give it another shot.

Wow, what an amazing Transformers collection. All the complete boxed ones.
How do you store/display your entire collection?

I had quite a few Transformers as a kid but I never kept the boxes and got rid of them in my youth. I wish I kept them now. Today I only have one G1 Transformer from back then, it's the cassette tape Overkill. He's been thru a lot including being run over by a car and moving all over the place. Still has his color changing sticker. :D

I used to have this guy...

Turned into 6 things! I really wish I still had him.
How much is he worth these days?
