I cant fucking take it anymore, whenever I post on gamefaqs no matter how simply or nicely a put it some fucking 12 year old fires off a smart ass anwser for no good fucking reason, I hate gamefaqs, use this topic too vent if any of you have similar feelings.

You aren't the only one. It's simply an empty gesture at this point though. It's like saying you hate Nazis. Well, yeah, they're Nazis.
 
i use to love that site, i dont read anything but FAQ's so i dont give a shit about the people there. they can burn in marshmallow hell
 
The ONLY good things are the FAQs. Everything else about the site sucks especially the forums and site design.
 
I go there for FAQs. I don't go there to talk to 5 year olds. Therefore, I like FAQs because I get what I go there for

And LUE. Its the only reason I ever go there, and one of the few places on the internet where you can find a board that bizzare.
 
I go there for FAQs and I will post in some of the sports topics (even though most of them are idiots). I used to post more, but now it's more here...

Your only chance of message board sanity there is if you ask a question about a game that is not totally dead but not that popular anymore. But the GTA boards, Halo boards, anything Final Fantasy, anything about a current sports game, forget it.

Gamefaqs is down half the time for me, so I use neoseeker sometimes, but they usually have few faqs compared to gamefaqs.
 
Cmon its good for a laugh. The GTA:San Andreas board was HILARIOUS a while back - I have never seen that many ignorant people gathered in one place (Actually I take that last comment back, this year's Republican National Convention has to win the ignorance prize)
 
i use cheatcc.com (with a pop-up blocker of course!) and gamespot.com for faqs and guides. gamespot usually has faqs courtisy of gamefaqs.com

I agree. LUE can be fairly entertaining at times.
 
Yaeh I think everyone basically already know they suck. That's Why were all here! :D The only reason I go there is just to check out there FAQs or on particularily older titles, the boards. Also on someboards where a person posts that he will answer any questions of________ game are quite good as in most of those people will not be stupid, flame, or just be jerks. Though they get updated news there from gamespot.com, I have started to go tio themagicbox.com for my game news or ign.com. Only problem with ign. is there are way to many pop-ups and ads.
 
I made a topic like this awhile ago trashing gamefaqs. What really pisses me off is I've had my account there since 2000 and it means jack shit because all of these 14-16 year olds know everything so why even post on a message board there. I am doing fairly well in the gamefaqs tourney though. Sure at 60 points I have no chances of winning now, but still, I'll keep my usual top 5% finish.

GameFAQs should charge a one-time fee of like $5 or something to post on their boards. If you're a jackass you get banned and have to pay $5 again. It would be good because it would get rid of ads and jerks at the same time.

Comics

Those kinds of things...

Also, I agree that if a game isn't new, the game specific boards aren't too bad. Anything a 14 yr old might want to play that just came out is usually not worth going there.

thats true, as i got older i found gamefaqs too be more and more annoying so now I just go here, CAG is so much better, nicer, funnier and just generally better people come here (shout out too all my CAGS) I hope this site remains this way.

Which boards in particular were you posting on? I'm not asking to defend them, I'm just curious. I go there a lot and the crappiness really seems to vary from board to board.
 
I used to love Gamefaqs like 3 years ago because back then I liked to argue/debate and troll on every board about how awesome SHAQ-FU was. The mods don't like me apparently because everytime I fucking argue with someone on the PS2 board I'm always put on suspension.
 
I don't really like the Gamefaqs boards just because they're a PITA to read. I need 'View new posts''. [it is possible I'm missing something.] There haven't been too many lusers or ke3l doods on the few game-related boards I've read, but they do show up.
And I do still stick with them for the faqs.

See it's the other way around for me, the gaming boards don't piss me off because I only read those for information.
 
You can't say anything there without 'karma loss.' fuck karma, the little bitches there fucking taddle to the mods every time you say something worse than 'damn.' fuckers got my account banned because I was being sarcastic. Another reason I joined CAG... Thank you CheapyD.

Same here. LUE is just too bizzare to ignore.
 
I don't mind the rules against swearing so much as I mind that they enforce them far too strongly as opposed to banning/suspending people that are just plain dickheads.
 
I go to GameFAQs for the FAQs...duh. I'll read the system boards, occasionally game-specific boards. I usually only post on the secret boards, and that's just to keep some long-term posts up to generate karma.

I remember getting modded once for posting the definition of a run-on sentence on the Dreamcast system board. Some guy was asking for technical help on his broken DC - he described the problem in no less than 500 words with no punctuation.

I couldn't resist and I got whacked for it. No karma loss though.

GameFAQs is full of fucking ass holes and their fucking "buddy" moderators! Once you somehow make friends with a mod, you can shoot your fucking mouth off all you want and anyone who replies negatively gets punished.
