A: Since it has been converted to pre-owned, there's no easy way to track down one. Your best bet is to go into your local store and ask if they have it in stock.

So I hit the store I placd a hold on the ACIV CE at and of course it was gone. I asked about GoW and they had a gutted copy in the back. I bought it for 18.99, but I am not sure if I am even going to keep it. I forgot my birthday coupon, so I only got 10% off.

Well the store is about a hour from my house, but the night before the conversion the manager called and said I could pay full price for the CE tonight or get the game only tomorrow for the used price. I also called customer service and spoke to 3 different departments and all of them said there is nothing they can do. I'm not sure if my quote showed form my OP.

 
Just picked up my copy of GoW:A CE for $8 after my 25% off any used game and trading in my game and keeping the steelbook so now I have two :p

I haven't been to a GS midnight launch in years, but in my experience, they have you get there at 10pm to close out/pay off your purchase so when midnight rolls around, they can give you your game. The store I went to wouldn't allow any other transaction after 11:30 or so. But, like I said, that was years ago (Force Unleashed) and they may have changed things since then, unless it was just that store manager's policy....

I don't think that would work. I believe once it is converted it is no longer on the website. I work nights and have been able to do searches and place holds until 7or8 friday morning or CEs that were converted. I would assume the website and in store price would be the same. Now that being said, you could try to buy it Thursday night and return/rebuy friday for the converted price.
 
Saw behind the counter multiple copies (in 6-8) of MGS4, the last of us, Motorstorm and some other titles. The cashier working told me they were converted to used copies!

Yeah, they don't allow any other transactions at that point.

I can't find any store within 100 miles with a "new" copy of MGS4.

They are not converted cause i just checked in within 100 miles of me it shows in the inventory checker:

  • 42 ps4 locations
  • 38 xbox one locations
so more then likely your area cleaned out fast or they havent restocked yet. Cause most places a few weeks ago didnt have it in stock now it seem most here do as if they were restocked.

The process now is: At either 6 or 9 (depending on the prerelease) you do the finalize transaction process to finish paying and getting your final receipt and have a line sticker put on it. At 11 or 11:30 (depending on the prerelease) then everyone is put into line depending on what their ticket says (groups of 10 per group.)

Perfectly fine to do other transactions at any time but stores will want you to actually be browsing/buying and not just hanging out so there's room for the employees to clean, etc.
