I didn't see a thread about this game yet, so I figured I would start one up.

I've gotten through the first day of the game and I'm still laughing every time one of those Rabbids screams.

Here's something I noticed though and I was curious as to if anyone else had seen it.

I finished the "boss" for the first day in the game and after I completed the level, under my score, it said "TOP NATIONAL PLAYER."

Looking through the manual, I see that you can submit codes from the score mode to post on Raymanzone.com, but I don't see anything about the game using WiiConnect24 to keep high scores online.

Anyone know what's going on there?

I'm loving the game though... no doubt about that. Holy crap was I tired after doing the Cow launch game.

Your thoughts?

This game is pretty good so far, although I wish there were better story elements. Don't know about the score postings, and if you think the cow launching was tiring, wait till the carrot juice one. That will get your heart pumping.

My fiancee was playing earlier, and I saw that it said she was also top national player for whatever game/level she had just played. It would be amazing if that was updated real-time online, but I guess we won't know till someone says it told them they were number 1,233 in the country.

That would be a big surprise. Although, there is no page to check it yet. Hopefully we'll see more soon.

How long is this game and how many minigames are there? By "boss" do you mean you beat the game in 1 day?

I think the game is rumored to have over 50 mini games contained in it.

The "boss" that I spoke of is a certain mini game that you have to complete after finishing your games for that "day" in the game. They call it a day in the game and that's why I chose that word.

I'm no where near finishing the game. Not even close.

How is the multiplayer in the game? I'm looking for a game I can play multiplayer with my kids and this one has me interested in it. Debating between this and Monkey Ball.

How do you save? I've played through like 2-3 days and when I'm in that little cell, I exit and nothing is saved. Manual doesnt say much about how to save in Story mode.

Really?! It's been on Auto-Save for me!

I picked up this along with zelda- It's a ton of fun, and I love the rabbids. That carrot juice shooting game was a real bitch. I had a hard time with the outhouse one too. The noises the rabbids make when in the outhouses was so funny though. Probably 2nd best launch game, close with trauma center.

I see the game save but when I go back to story mode, the profile is not there.

This one is great for multiplay with kids. I also have SMB. The biggest initial difference is that you have to unlock the games before you can play them in Rayman. In SMB the multiplayer games are already unlocked. My kids ages 11 & 6 enjoy both. I really like the shooting mini-games in Rayman. I haven't seen all/most of the minigames ("70 quircky games" according to the box) in Rayman but I personally prefer what I have seen to the multiplayer games available in SMB.

That's nothing to get excited about, and the more you play it the more you'll become familiar with the rankings. For example, it told me that I was the "Top National Players of all National Players in the World" or "You're slightly better than my little sister." It's just the developer's sense of humor showing itself again. :)

I wanted to get this game but the no widescreen and progressive scan support kills me. Maybe I'll get it when it drops to $20 are less.

sweet right now this is definitely second on my last...well Trauma center comes close though. I'm really only looking at This, and Trauma center (And of course Zelda...but thats a no brainer)

I'm deciding between this or Trauma Center as my second Wii game.

I played Trauma Center on the DS and liked it, but I'm not sure that I'd want to pay $40+ to play the remake.

So how does Rayman stack up? It sounds a lot like Warioware to me, which is fine, because I liked Warioware. But is it as good as that series? And is it a primarily single-player or multi-player game? Because I'd only intend to play it single-player.

Hey, I was just at that web site looking at where to enter the code. It is definitely not a WiiConnect24 thing as they want you to enter the archaic super-long code into a web page to list your score. I played some multiplayer with my son and we got some good scores - I wanted to enter them tonight but I don't see where on that web site to do it!

We only did the multiplayer on rails shooting section (Bunny hunt). That is a blast - really a good use of the Wiimote. Though I kind of wish the multiplayer didn't require the nunchuck for reloading (a button option would be nice instead - or even shaking the Wiimote itself). I have 2, but was planning on getting 4 remotes and only 2 nunchucks. I think those portions can be 4-player, but I'm not getting 4 nunchucks any time soon.

The game, overall, does seem kind of short. I think we're over 40% already. The multiplayer has it's own "progress" though and after about 4 bunny hunt sessions we were at 1.5% or so. It seems there are some bonuses unlocked when playing those modes as well (in addition to the outfits and music you unlock by playing all 4 minigames in each "day").

I really didn't want to spend $50 on this, but since I can't play Zelda till I get component cables, I needed something to play besides Wii Sports. The problem is that we'll be done with it so soon and I might need another game. I really didn't want to spend $50 on SMB, especially if the minigames aren't as enjoyable as Rayman's. There's nothing else till Elebits that I really want either.

Well, I don't think anybody's mentioned this but....

I like the Goth hair, DJ headgear, DJ shoes, DJ pants/shirt, and Gangsta sunglasses. :p

I haven't unlocked everything yet though, so that's as of now.

The dancing games you play each day are hillarious! Bunnies just Wanna have fun is my favorite. Those bunnies really tore it up on the dance floor, LOL

But they can dance!

Haha! So far my favorite MULTIPLAYER mini game in Rayman:RR is "Rabbits can't play hide and seek"... I think that's what it's called.. it's where you quickly alternate up and down the nunchuck and wii-mote controllers to run while a guards back is turned... then when he turns around you have to stop and aim your hand at the center of the screen where a smalll blue circle appears... then it moves around and you have to keep your hand in the circle until the guard turns around again... when he turns his back you start running again... and with this game when playing 4 players you ALL play at the same time.. so it's a race to the finish with a chance of getting kicked out if the guard sees you out of the circle... GOOD STUFF! I love this game... =D

This is my favorite game so far(haven't tried Zelda yet). Absolute blast. I've never been a rhythym game person, but the dance floor games are great.

I've only had a problem with two games so far, first was the "Brain Maze" where you steer a marble around a maze by tilting the Wiimote in under 30 seconds. Took a dozen or more tries before I got that one.

The other is a top down maze where you pick up a bunny and steer it through a maze to the end. Tried this a dozen times and still couldn't beat it. Fortunately I didn't have to, to move on.

The game is just fantastic, it's fun, it's hilarious, and it's simple and straightforward.

And the mini-game with the song for that day where you shake the nunchuk and wiimote to the bunnies is soooooo Samba-esque....Are you paying attention Sonic Team? You can make us a Samba de Amigo for the Wii!!!

I like this better than I did WarioWare. The minigames, for the most part are not microgames- they're more substantial. Like io said, the game seems short, but I am having a BLAST so far. The way they use the controller for the shooting games is amazing, and like I said in a previous thread, it's like playing HOTD in the arcade, and now I wish they were making a HOTD for Wii. I really like the dance minigames too even though they're very simple. I find myself jamming to the music and sometimes I shake the controller too much when I'm not supposed to and get a penalty. ;)

I was curious as to what most people were thinking of the "drawing" mini game. I found it really tough to stabilize my hand enough be accurate with the drawing segments. I got better over time... but it was definitely tricky.

I failed at my first try, but then I went slower and I passed.

I REALLY hate the brain maze. I tried a few times but just decided to forget it. I can't even make it halfway, much less get there in less than 30 seconds.

Quick thoughts:

I found the food drawing to be incredibly accurate, that didn't give me any trouble at all.

The carrot juice was ridiculous. You can tell that the developers were just like "let's really fuck with them here".

Favorites currently include the dances and FPSs.

I love the bunnies, they're great characters. I also adore the bunny before each stage showing you how to use the remote. Excellent!

Saw a Splinter Cell bunny in one of the FPS stages.

Game seems to have a little bit of launch-game-itis. Some of the FMVs are a little choppy and hiccupy, and it seems like it could've used a little more time in the oven. I think it feels a bit disjointed as it is, and could've used a little polish to bring everything together into a single cohesive product. The concept is good though.

Does the looking-at-the-window video change when you get more plungers? Or are you always going to get crapped on until you can finally climb out.

Enjoying it as a nice additional title. I probably wouldn't have spent the $50 if it weren't for the launch scenario, but it makes a nice addition to the collection. I hope they incorporate the bunnies into the Rayman franchise, wherever it may go in the future.

The brain maze I was able to beat after getting the hang of it. And there's another one that comes up later - same type of thing, but with more time. For whatever reason I found the second one easier though.

The one where you pick up the bunny and move him through, though, I find impossible - especially as there seems to be a point near the beginning where you hit the side even when no where close to it. I can get through the narrower parts much easier but that first area slows me down enough - I made it within 2 seconds, but gave up after 10 more tries ;).

The unlockables for the "Score Attack" are the bonus items which so far include a video about bunnies milking cows and some concept artwork. There is also a lot of unlocking of the minigames themselves outside of the Story Mode. For example, to earn the Time Attack and Survival modes of Bunny Hunt you need to clear all the Score Attack modes - and you have to unlock all of those by playing through the main game first. So there is quite a bit to do after you complete the main game - but it is really just variations on all the same games you played in that. That's not a bad thing, though :D.

I hate the brain mazes, but I love the dance and FPS modes. The last time I had a stupid grin like that was when I went to Disneyworld a few months ago.

Oddly, I had no trouble with the Outhouse minigame at all. Just unlocked the Rocker/Elvis costume set.

The "Bunnies Dont close doors" game is giving me fits, I can never get the last door to the right.

otherwise Im having a friggin blast!

After 2 days of on-and-off play, we are more than 60% through the main game. You could definitely play through the main game as a rental. There's a ton of play after that in the Score Attack mode though. So that will keep us going for a while (plus that's where the multiplayer is). My 6 year-old son loves it (in particular the FPS sections), my 9 year-old daughter doesn't, really - she just wants to play Wii Sports all the time ;).

I struggled with that level for a bit last night. After I relaxed a bit and started to move the remote a little more smoothly things seemed to go better. Also, I was shaking the nunchuck twice every time a door opened that I needed to close. That seemed to help.

I finished the story mode for the first time. I'm disappointed I have to do it MANY more times to get all the unlocks for the triathalons. Fun game, no less.

OMG, i'm getting homicidal over the outhouse game. i haven't reached the brain maze yet (see above re: outhouse level), but i thought the carrot juice was a breeze. went nearly a minute longer than i had to. strange what some people find easy.

so anyone wanna come over and help with the outhouses so i can move on?

For the outhouse game, I found this little nugget (no pun intended) on the GameFAQs board last night:

"Aim at the crotch, and do a single shake down on the nunchuck."

That's right, hit 'em where it counts! I tried it dozens of times before, but once I tried it like that, I lasted about 1:10, 20 seconds past the goal time.
Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I have SMB:BB sealed, but I'm wondering if I should return it for Rayman.
Definalty.

If you want a game for just minigames, I would go for Rayman. Rayman's minigames seem to be better received than SMB:BB, as well as more plentiful.

I have SMB:BB, and although I love the main game, the minigames are a little disappointing. There are few that I like a lot though, and have more depth than I would expect. Anything that uses 3D space (like wack-a-mole) is either: going to take time to master the control, or feel completely broken.
Definalty.
Ok, so you've played both and you recommend Rayman over SMB? I'm going back to FYE soon to return it in exchange for Rayman, but also to pick up another Wiimote and Nunchuck.

Just finished the main game in Rayman with a 100% complete - took, probably, about 10 hours of play (and that's with my son doing much of it, though towards the end I did nearly everything except the FPS parts that he loves). There is alot of replay in the Score Attack mode as I've said before - LOTS of points to earn there. It's all the same games, but they mix up the challenges a bit (for example, 3 different challenges in a row, add up your score). Those points unlock the bonus items linked on the main screen.

Only 10 hours to beat EVERYTHING? Like 100% and do these score attack mode challengs and stuff? Thats quite short...

No, 100% on the main game only. I've only scratched the surface of the Score Attack section.
