Nobody home here. The trolls and the juvenile drama chased me away.

I thought CAG was a supportive community, but I was wrong, apparently.

You're free to let someone else man the thread now; I understand J7 has a lot of free time on his hands and has been trying to circumvent the thread from me for a few months.

I just don't have the patience for the children anymore.

Cheers.

Now I'm kicking myself in the ass, since I could've made a whopping $12 in TRU credit from the 3 GH: Aerosmith PS2 bundles I saw yesterday at Sears. I just checked all of the games I got from Blockbuster and many of them get around what I paid for them.
I traded in 3 games at TRU today. Was pretty smooth but most employees don't know how to do it.
What you trade in and the values?

Just got back from Toy's R Us. They had a handful of good deals, but nothing much of interest, My Fitness Coach :ds: $9.99, for example, and a few others that I think dropped a while ago or weren't that good of a deal. Had a few games I was thinking of getting to do the buy one get one $5 off, but decided to put it all back because I was too cheap :D If I could have found a $5 I may have bought something, but everything was $10 or higher and nothing that I wanted that much.

I did, however, find the Xbox Live cards at $10 off. I believe it was:

1600 Points $9.99
3 Months Gold $9.99
12 Months Gold $39.99
4000 Points $39.99

I'm not sure if that is the exact prices, but it was close to that, I think it was just $10 off each item. I almost bought a couple of the 3 month cards and a 1600 point card, but I still don't have a wireless adapter and still can't bring myself to spend the $100, so I decided I better wait till I make my mind up and actually get the darn thing. I figured if I got them now I would either lose them, or they could end up expiring or something, I don't know if they do, but I figured it would be my luck, so, I decided to leave those too, wish I didn't but I did.

Hopefully I can find some better deals next time!

You'll likely never find those 1600 pts. cards cheaper. So, if you ever think you'll need them, go ahead and purchase them.

Thanks. I think I will grab some if they still have them next time I'm there. I just need to look at some of the games I want so I know how many to get. So far, I know I want 'Splosion Man and the Ball game that comes as a demo on the 360, can't think of the name, but I like it.

They probably won't be on sale when I get back, but if they are I will probably get two or so.

Just so you know, those points/gold sale is only on the old cards in the bubble packaging, not the new activate at registers type.
BTW...what is the Terminator Salvation deal someone mentioned a few pages back...anyone know?
I believe it was that they saw it for $9.99 at there local store but then someone else said that's very weird because it was on sale for $30 a couple weeks before.
Just so you know, those points/gold sale is only on the old cards in the bubble packaging, not the new activate at registers type.
Hmmm. My store didn't have any cards in bubble packaging. Everything was just the regular cards hanging on a hook, had a bunch of them too. Each of the items had a price tag hanging on them advertising the price as well as the fact Xbox Live Products were $10 off.

I walked into a nearby TRU here in Mission Viejo Cali, picked up two copies of kane and lynch for $9.99. As I proceeded to the counter, the clerk rang them up and said, "Your total is $5.44" LOL!

OH and btw, had the guy scan the old xbox live 12+1 orange pack with the netflix sticker...no dice on lower price. 1600 pts were the same too.

Chances are the signing coordinator didn't pay attention to the item numbers and put them up anyways like where I work. I was all ready to scoop up a few only to find it didnt work and had to take it down.

I can confirm now the $9.99 Terminator Salvation. One store I went to had the sign "Originally $49.99, $20 off: $29.99" but another had a sign "Orig. $19.99, $10 off: $9.99." One guy tried to tell me that I had the wrong item because it was an Xbox LIVE game and not Xbox 360...that was a big WTF moment. They honored the price with the usual enthusiasm.

I said I saw it for $9.99 and I had an employee check the price and he confirmed it.

Thanks for posting this. I completely overlooked the B1G1 $5 off sale. An otherwise tame sale that's wonderful when paired with clearance prices. :D

Oops, I originally posted in the wrong thread...but Terminator Salvation IS on sale/clearance for $9.99?!

I believe this game is still behind the counter at my local TRU, so i suppose i'll just have to ask for a price scan

Thanks. Hopefully if I can get back there they will still have the sale and signs up and I can get them to honor it. Really wish I would have done it now, couldn't decide on what I wanted and thought I had heard of people getting live for about the same price anyway, so I figured I didn't need that, couldn't make up my mind on whether or not to get the points and how many to get, so I didn't get anything  If they still have them and honor it, I may try to get some extras to trade for some of the games I've been trying to find, Drawn to Life, Viva Pinata, etc. but can never find.

If I do get them, I may go through the hassle and just move it to my other TV and try to get my ethernet cable to it so I don't have to wait until I buy a wireless adapter right away.

Don't get so excited. It's a terrible game and it will probably be one of those 9.99 black friday weekend special. Hell ill even go as far as saying 4.99 :D

What was the promo here that got you one free?

PS3 version is $29.99 on sale right now, confirmed at the register with scan.

But the second sign is clearly wrong as the game has never been $19.99, at least not yet. Curious as to why this error is happening at some stores.

What is the end date of this sale? Thanks.

I just stopped in a TRU for the first time in years, and couldn't find the clearance games… until I noticed what was basically a milk crate of games in the corner. I saw Singstar (or some other singing game) for PS3 for $5, and they had four or five bundles of "Assorted PS2 Games" which all were Madden 08, Avatar, Friends, and two more titles I cannot recall, for $5.

Lame.

But I did learn there apparently was a Friends (yea, the TV show) video game. I didn't even look to see what it was about.

the sale on points/xbl cards last 1 week, so it'll end sunday. And tough luck finding the 1600 pts card lol. I've been to 3 TRU and none of them have the 1600pts cards. Only the 12month and 3month in bubble pack which are 10$ off.

Went to my local TRU today hoping to score a 12+1 bundle pack for $10 & Terminator Salvation for $10. Well, i asked the sales clerk (a lady around 50 or so) if she could just price scan for me even though the prices were right there. She said sure and told me that she was pretty sure Terminator would ring up $49.99..well when it rang up $29.99 she said "Ok, well it's on sale for $29.99" I told her "oh, no thanks" and told her that a "friend" of mine had gotten it for $9.99 at his local TRU to which the lady rolled her eyes and look baffled saying "Oh, well thats a really good price but ya right" I wanted to be like "Bitch!...you're too old for Xbox anyways, so stop acting as if cheap games make a differance to you or your salary and that I'm some looney for even acknowledging that a price like that exists"

I hate it when sales clerks act like they are losing out on something when i bring up a price that is well known...only it always seems that it isnt known to them

Wait, what? Why are you assuming that something that a few people on an internet forum have reported is "well known" or that it's universal? She's more than likely not a gamer, she more than likely doesn't read CAG, and even if both were the case it doesn't mean that price is necessarily true for her store anyway. If $29.99 is what rang up in her register, that's probably what she knows as correct. For all she knows, you could well be trying to scam her (you'd be surprised how often people try shit like that). And yes, if she just gave you the deal anyway, it could very much make a difference to her salary, as she could well lose her job for it. If it was really that big of a deal to you, you should have asked to talk to a manager about it and had them check on it.

I mean, I get that you want the deal but damn . . . cut the entitlement already.

I understand your point, but I didn't walk in with a sense of entitlement. I meant that if the game had indeed rang up for $10, the lady would've acted almost like she wouldn't have sold it to me lol. I mean I've bought several games from TRU's cheaper/clearance prices. For instance, Ninja Blade for $19.99 when it was $39.99 everywhere else, Mass Effect for $5, PS3 Component Cable for $7.48...and each time the person at the register almost didn't recognize their OWN store's prices; employees that work ONLY in the video game section haha. They almost act like i'd hacked their system for the item to ring up however much it did.

And I didn't expect the lady to give me the deal based on my word, but i meant that no matter how cheap an item is clearanced for....that doesn't affect the pay she would get. Video game clerks at TRU aren't working on commission. They make hourly wage.

On a universal note, it may just be some employees lack of knowledge on the gaming industry, but most seem to think that a $60 game ought to stay $30+ and never go for cheaper, and that any that you DO get for that price, you've uncovered some hidden miraculous deal
jcp has not made many friends since coming aboard, has he?
I don't need your sarcasm either. Just because I made an error in logic on the Target clearance games doesn't mean I'm a bad person. I've made a good enough number of friendly sales through this site and the people I've dealt with have been extremely happy with my communication and prices
I understand your point, but I didn't walk in with a sense of entitlement.
Well, maybe it's the way that you chose to say it here, but it sure came off as entitlement.
and each time the person at the register almost didn't recognize their OWN store's prices; employees that work ONLY in the video game section haha. They almost act like i'd hacked their system for the item to ring up however much it did.
Haha, yeah, I love that reaction. You should have seen the look on the Sears guy's face the other day when I got the Rock Band bundle for $14.97.
And I didn't expect the lady to give me the deal based on my word, but i meant that no matter how cheap an item is clearanced for....that doesn't affect the pay she would get. Video game clerks at TRU aren't working on commission. They make hourly wage.
I'm sure that her reaction was based as much on the expectation that you were or would be asking her to sell it to you for that price, though. Like I said, that really could affect her if she did it, because they could very well fire her over it if it turned out to not be valid.
I tmay just be some employees lack of knowledge on the gaming business, but most seem to think that a $60 game ought to stay $30+ and never go for cheaper
Well, that's part of it, but let's face it . . . It is pretty soon for Terminator to be dropping to $10, by any normal game lifecycle. It hasn't even gone that cheap at Target yet, and they're usually one of the first to make massive price drops, usually way before TRU. That's part of why it's such big deal here to begin with. So yeah, I can see why, even if she was aware that games do drop in price, she would be suspicious of that one. Hell, if I were in her situation, even with what I do know of how game prices drop, I'd probably be suspicious too.
Don't suppose the PS3 version of Kane & Lynch is also $5... Anyone know?
Yes, it is. I bought it yesterday.

I also bought Haze and Turok for $10 each yesterday. And for some reason, it took an extra $5 off of one of those two titles, so it brought my total for all 3 to $20 plus tax.

The Terminator Salvation at $10 is YMMV. I asked the CSR to scan it, and it came up $49.99. Is the $29.99 sale last week or does the sale have to be finalized before the $20 off is applied? Now that I think about it, I don't care since I was only interested in it at $10 anyway.

Did find 360 component cables for $4 at the King of Prussia store (one left) and PS3 component cables for $7.50 at Exton (several left). Not much as far as actual clearance games.

You should've got another. When I was there last night, there was a sale. Buy 1 get $5 off the 2nd (games $19.99 and under). I was able to get N+ (psp) for $5 and a 2nd one for free. I didn't really need 2 but 1 for free, what the hell?

Thanks for that. I don't think I missed much, I didn't see any other titles that I really needed. I could'a had a free 2nd copy of Kane and Lynch I suppose...

only time i've seen them, they were out in the open on a shelf next to PS3 games.

Just got back from toys r us. Picked up 4 Terminators, came to around $30 since they have the buy one get one $5 off deal. Not a bad hustle.

Which store was this? Did they have to manually adjust the prices?
TRU's video game TIV's are set by Gamers Factory. The prices on the website are pretty consistent to what is offered in store from what I've checked.
Reposting this link so it doesn't get buried.

Hmm, I went to a TRU that had the ticket system. The Terminator ticket for 360 scanned at $29.99 on sale. Maybe it has to be rung up to get it for $9.99.

Terminator for both 360 and PS3 (actual games scanned - pricecheck) were both $29.99 at my local. The old 12+1 live cards were $10 off MSRP.
