Nobody home here. The trolls and the juvenile drama chased me away.

I thought CAG was a supportive community, but I was wrong, apparently.

You're free to let someone else man the thread now; I understand J7 has a lot of free time on his hands and has been trying to circumvent the thread from me for a few months.

I just don't have the patience for the children anymore.

Cheers.

KrayzieKMF is right. If you see it at $25, you need to grab it. Sears also has clearanced these out (anywhere from $25 and up). They seem to not be producing these anymore (in mass quantities). I'm guessing after this run of them, they will be one of those items MS comes out with every once in while for a charitable organization (breast cancer, etc) which will probably make them hot and rare.
Well good for you!
I was just countering the argument that HD-DVD's are 1/3 the cost of Blu-rays.

Great deals can be found on both. Yes, HD-DVD's in general are dirt cheap, so you probably have to put less effort into hunting down HD-DVD deals, but there are really good deals on Blu-rays out there too.

Most, if not all, of the bluray discs are literally the same source material as the HD-DVD. For instance: Constantine was copied straight over. If I can buy the HDDVD for $3 and the bluray for $30, come on, that's a no-brainer, especially if there's no loss in picture or audio quality. The only difference is I'm playing it on my 360 and not my PS3.

There is NOTHING wrong with HDDVD, other than it's no longer supported. It's still a very viable format, and high definition is high definition.

well, no, it's not viable at all since it's dead, but yeah, a decent amount of movies came out for it and I suppose you could get a decent library of HD movies for cheap with it.
HDDVDs are still being produced in other countries. So, if you're still looking for HDs, there you go.
Depends on the region code and what your 360 (or whatever you're playing your HDDVDs with) is ready to play.

Oh really? Did not realize that was possible. Thanks for informing the misinformed. :)
Gears of War is the 2-disc refresh edition, isn't it?
No, the 2-disc refresh was $29.99. I picked up the original release. It was $20 used at most places, which I was going to get anyways.

Yup a 27$ is a no-brainer. But if there's close to 5$ difference (which I experienced a few times) then there are some other stuff one should take into consideration. I mean it's very likely that in the future you'll be having blu-ray drives in your laptop, desktop, a standalone blu-ray player for your other tv and so forth. Or maybe you wanna lend it to someone. Just putting that out there, so people don't go all crazy. But yeah at 3$ for an HD DVD, you can't really go wrong. But in my experience I see the good movies go for 7$-12$ and at that point it's a toss up as the blu-ray version might go for sale at 10-15$ (these are a year old movies after all or maybe even older)

Trauma Center: New Blood is on clearance for $9.99 on TRU.COM. Only downfall is shipping & tax. Your total will end up around $15. I posted a link to it in the deals section on the homepage but thought it was worth a mention here as well...

I don't know if this is clearance or YMMV or what, but I saw "all GBA games 3 for $10" in a bin today. Didn't say specific titles. It was 75% Enchanted and some Meet the Robinsons and some other junk from 2007ish.

And it's update time... Changes are for 4/13
Sorry, No PS3 Love this time.
Pokemon Emerald dropped from $19.98 to $5.00 at my store.
$5?! I'm really interested. Would it be possible to work something out? I don't live close to any TRU.

Is there a faq available for this thread?

Are all TRU stores universal, or are they like Sears and Kmart where I have to go to each store and see if they might have it at this price.

There are only 3 toyrus stores and they are all miles apart. Some confirmation please.

All TRU stores do their drops at the same time. Stock levels will, of course, vary.

Might have to search for MassEffect and GOW2. Know that my local one had some Advance War:DOR last week. Too bad I already have it. Definitely worth a pickup if you don't have it.

These have different items than the ones posted:
084951 Singstar Rocks 49.99-19.98
253734 Singstar Amped 49.99-19.98
678371 Buzz: The Mega Quiz 9.98-5.00

Anyone want to match them up for me?
The 2 singstars are the bundles with microphones. I will double check about the buzz one.

I'm surprised Fire Emblem is surviving this long in stores, I got a copy when it dropped to $19.98 (and PMd it to $17.98 when they had another sale)... but I did see one copy a month or two back at a local TRU, wonder if it's still there.

Will TRU pricematch their own price drops on clearance games?

I purchased :ps2: Buzz! The Mega Quiz for $9.98 earlier this week. Worst case, I guess I could rebuy and return if they have any left.

It may have dropped in price, but it doesn't necessarily mean that stores still have it. I would be surprised if there are any left.

I'm pretty sure you can get a price adjustment. I know I did it back when Shin Megami Tensei: DDS was clearanced. I bought it the day before the drop at full price ($49.99) and they totally gave me back the difference (I think it dropped to $14.99??)

Figures, I picked up the 2 Buzz (game only) games on Tuesday at TRU, though Buzz Hollywood was already $9.98 ... I had picked up Singstar Amped at Sears for $14.97 on the same day.

Guess I'll attempt a pricematch on Buzz: The Mega Quiz.

That looks like some sort of bizarre "I want this from your trading list" request.

Yes, within 14 days with receipt (if they're nice, it can be within the month). It's easier if you bring the unopened item with you, but not absolutely necessary

Try not to get your hopes too far up. A lot of those disappeared from stores when they hit $9.98.

If you can find it, that is.

It was one of the hot items that people were after when it first went on clearance few months ago.

My store still has the 5 in stock when they dropped to $9.98. I put 4 aside, had to give one to our price change guy.

So you work there and all 5 copies of the game you grabbed?

Why didn't anyone tell me Digimon World: Dusk and Dawn went down to $9.98? I got one for $4.98 because of the Fri and Sat promo, I would have waited to see if they went to $5 monday but I doubted they would still be there.

I've been getting these coupons when I check out, they have 2 $5 off of $25 coupons in there for 2 separate weeks.

Edit below:

I should describe the coupon pack more. It folds out and has 5 coupons in it. On the front, it says Savings Pass: April 17th-30th. One of the $5 off $25 coupons says valid 4.17-4.23 and the other is 4.24 - 4.30. Video game hardware is excluded and original coupons only.

That's what it sounds like, maybe he grabbed them for fellow CAGS.
