I thought CAG was a supportive community, but I was wrong, apparently.

You're free to let someone else man the thread now; I understand J7 has a lot of free time on his hands and has been trying to circumvent the thread from me for a few months.

I just don't have the patience for the children anymore.

I agree with Vegan, we don't need competing threads on the same topic, jaysapathy is doing a damn fine job, and if you've got to scan the last 2-3 pages to find the latest deals, deal with it!! p.s. my TRU is wiped out, literally, the clearence bin was even empty!!! And is it just me, or do the TRU sections keep rotating???

had some good luck today, Chrono-Trigger and a PS3Eye. also saw a ton of Rondo of Swords, a couple of Lock's Quest , and a Rubix World. only negative was some gay guy was practically stalking me it felt like, he kept walking past me back and forth for no reason and humming to himself, which continued as i moved throughout the store.

Well, I found one the other day, Country for PS2 for $3.00. Funny thing is, when they first cleared these out I asked for it and they said they had no stock. I guess someone returned it?

Why I created this

I had issues with the other TRU thread & the OP. Was told by mod to create my own thread if I had problems with his. I also wanted to provide more information and statistics for CAG, including also listing markdowns, not just clearances.

----------------------------------INFO--------------------------------
- When reporting finds please use this format:

DS – SKN - game name - $19.98 (former price)- $9.98 (current price)

- Please include SKN #'s if possible.
- Dates are when prices were changed by TRU or original/further drops reported by CAG members.
- Note: Games are often price dropped numerous times, i.e. down to $19.98 then to $9.98 & then to $5.00 & then possibly $3. So a game reportedly dropped to $5 may have already sold out weeks earlier.
- Games may not be marked at their current prices. TRU clearances and markdowns are generally nationwide so they should ring up at a clearance/markdown price.
- If you buy a game that later drops in price you can either get an employee to refund you the difference, or if they can’t, then return and rebuy the items.
- sometimes stores will mark their items down sooner than other stores based on sales/inventory.
- Most TRU’s offer store credit for trade-ins, which you must bring to the service area and have ID.
- Do not talk about selling/reselling.
- Do not call TRU and ask about clearances.

You know, I was thinking, wouldn't it be easier to use Google docs to keep a spread sheet of this info and make it public?

That way, we could use the sorting options to see only specific types of games listed (i.e., PS2 games which have dropped to $5 in the past month). I'm not sure if this is possible since I only used the PowerPoint software but it would make organizing easy as long as only one person (who ever's in charge of managing it) change the info...

You might want to change the Blue, as it may appear TOO dark on some CAG's monitors. I'd suggest going lighter, Cyan maybe, or Yellow.

Never been a hunter for TRU clearance, all I ever see in Houston are value bins with good games all $15-$20. I've seen the stickers behind the counter indicating a game is on clearance, but never for lower than $9.98..

How are these deals had? Just by checking these bins and confirming price stickers behind the counter (stuff on the floor is usually dummy cases w/ no price tags)

Also, is there an online inventory set up that will do the hunting for you? And how often do prices change? is almost weekly drops like Target? (thanks!)

Just got back from the one in Deptford, NJ. Nothing of value to find so I came back empty handed. Didn't even have the PS3 component cables (they only had the AV cable for $6.98 and the S-Cable for $2.00)

Only thing I spotted was the Resistance 2 Collector's Edition for $29.98 and Singstar Vol 2 for $5.00.

I was surprised they had the non Greatest Hits version of Dragon Quest VIII for $9.99 though. They also had the first Disgea for the same price but it was the GH version.
