The IGN review brings up this point pretty well.
Half-Life 2 is a prettied-up version of the Xbox release, and it shows the flaws with not a great change from the Xbox version in graphics and some of the slowdowns/loadtime issues.
I need some honest impressions of this from those of y'all who have it and have played the pc version with full lighting/shadows/et cetera.
Hearing that valve just fancied up the xbox port, rather than porting the pc to 360 bugs me. I never had a problem with the load times on the pc, though that was partly the rig and partly that I'm a patient person. Playing the xbox version, the graphics were... well, they were okay for what the xbox could do. But again, it's odd that valve did the Orange Box HL2 port this way. So I'd really like to hear impressions from those of you who've played HL2 on the PC. How's it look on the 360?
I still think I'll be taking this over the ps3 port (why did Valve hand that port over to EA after EA clearly stated that they had to restructure their manpower to cash in on the wii and 360... basically saying the triple's going to be in the back seat for a while?!). Especially with the TRU buy 2/get 1 sale next week and the fact that Orange Box on the Three won't be out till December.
also, the 360 Orange Box is locked at 30fps. Get the pc version...unless you want achievements and XBL mp.
Aw, man. That's just so wrong.
Playing HL2 right now, looks just as good as the PC counterpart.
Says the guy with an avatar from a low-res game.
Seriously though, you think so? What res are you playing in, and when you played on the pc, did you play fully enabled?
