Yeah its pretty broken, i thought the auto save saved the 2 advacned maps i did, but it doesnt, because i see the little check mark is gone from the chambers 5/6 that i did on advanced, i am really confused by it. Especially if i beat them, do i need to start another one after completion then save to not lose any progress?
 
I did one advanced chamber and it didn't save. So I ended up redoing that onr and finishing all 6 in one sitting. Didn't check to see if they saved since I got the achievement and could care less if they did or didn't now.

yeah, I wouldn't care only I want to get the gold medal achievement for all the bonus maps and that will take time. but oh well, I'm playing through again so I can get the camera achievement anyway.....

Huge room very close to the end where you have multiple turrets aimed outwards from all the walls. You need to use the angled bits of wall to get out normally, instead continue to fly from angled wall to angled wall. Got the achieve after flying through maybe 3 times

Every time I quit playing and came back my camera progress was reset. I played it on PC though, so maybe it's different.
 
i'm assuming you saved your game and didn't just quit out because the camera tracking goes with the specific save.
 
The cake is a lie!!!

Finished my first play through. Best single player game I've played in ages. I want more. Can't wait to play through again for camara and advanced acheivements.
 
I don't see want the big deal is about this game, I mean i realize that it is original and fun but I don't think that it is that funny like everybody is saying. Except for the ending song
 
How do you get the 30,000 feet achievement? I was thinking Portal up, portal down and just keep falling, but I did that for about 2 minutes, and I didnt get it...

You answered your own question. I got it after 5 minutes or so, I left the room and when i came back the achievement icon come out.
 
I can't line up the portals correctly so I fall smoothly. After a couple runs in and out, I always run into the edge of the portal which slows my fall. Does that affect the drop at all? I actually need both jumping/falling achievements.

When you get out of the elevators there is always a small hallway

Hit the cieling and the floor and dont touch the control, looking up and down can change your direction, just leave it there for 5 to 8 minutes and you should get the achievement. You should get the jump achievement near the end of the game in the room with all turrets.
 
Parts of the background music in the end credit song definitely sounded like
Manic Monday by The Bangles
to me.
 
Why the hell didn't anyone tell me how amazing this game was? Orange Box had been sitting on my floor, unopened for weeks because of all the other games I was buying and playing.

Last night I crack it open and get all the way through room 18. Friggin AWESOME!

I wish I had 18 more rooms to go instead of 1 though...I am kinda sad :(

But seriously, there are four achievements you get by simply playing through regularly and they are spread pretty evenly throughout the game.
 
I just got down beating every single game in the box.

Started with Portal...then Half life 2 then ep1 and 2. Took about a month and a half...been really busy.

God I love me some half life and just cant wait until ep 3 comes out.
 
Hmm, I only have this out for the next four days (got a free rental, and they were all out of CoD4... not that I'd rather have CoD4, it's just I don't expect to be able to finish much of the orange box in five days)... I haven't played Half Life 2 yet (Half Life 1, yes)... should I play through Half Life 2 before going on to the Episodes, or since I only have four days, should I just focus on finishing the episodes, and will I really miss much?
