I don't really feel like it was trying to copy Castlevania gameplay-wise. It feels more like if Hard Corps Uprising was a hack-and-slash.

I keep on hearing similar descriptions and I'd have to disagree. If anything, I'd say it's most like the combat of Oblivion minus the magic & blocking mechanics that gave it some depth, with the mission structure of Borderlands.

The thing that REALLY kills the game for me is the very slow pace of it and the ridiculous amount of shit to pick up. Skipping over it isn't really an option as it (A) serves a purpose, no matter how diminutive it is and (B) can be sold for money.

I'll give it some more time since I already paid for the rental.... maybe my opinion will change.

The 'Holy Shits' are my favorite part.
 
I love the Gears games. The campaigns are always a blast, especially on co-op. And Gears 3 multiplayer seems like something I might actually get into based on the beta.

So yeah, I'm getting it day 1.
 
I never played a Gears campaign co-op until like three days ago when I played the first with my girl.

I think I may prefer to play it solo.
 
I love the fucking piss out of Bloodrayne: Betrayal. Only played the first three levels (saving the rest for tomorrow), but it's awesome. If you like Hard Corps: Uprising, you'll like this.

Oh, and the 360 version is better.

Working the system, or trying really hard to.

I want the $80 CE to complete my set (OCD). Gears and Gears 2 are two of the few 360 games I own and they're both CE (and I love the series; one of 2 games I wanted a 360 for [Dead Rising being the other]).

I want the $20 credit from Amazon, but they won't offer on CE.
I'm willing to order a CE and a regular upfront to put me on the line for the $20 credit and 2 Savage Kantus codes.
I'll dump my regular sealed copy for $50-55 shipped. Then I'll dump the second Savage Kantus code on eBay for a couple bucks.

All told, my hope is to basically get a $15-20 credit for ordering the CE. :rofl:

It was much better when I was able to clear out the HWV in the area during their clearance sales before last gen games dropped off in value. With edge card and trade in promo, I ended up with like 3 Gears 2 CEs (sold 2) and a TE Fightstick (maybe more) for like $50 bucks out of pocket. Ahh, those were the days.
 
So are you getting just the regular CE or the Epic edition?

Also, I totally love abusing GS promos. It's been a while since I've had the chance to really destroy one, though.

Yeah, I actually had similar problems with AC. I preordered the CE, but I do have some issues with it not having a real case for the game. I can get a case for it with no problem, but it should just come with one since I'm spending so much goddamn money on it.

The manager at the GS in Virginia I was in over the weekend offered to bring an extra case to NY for me for it... :lol:
I'm doing the custom cover thing now, so that's not totally the issue... I just don't know if I want to drop an extra $40 for the statue.

I played the first one for like two hours and got bored of the same thing. Take cover, pop out, fire, get back into cover and regenerate health.

I think i'm going to just print one of the awesome covers that are in the GAF custom covers thread...still considering just skipping the CE altogether though - Walmart's doing a 10 dollar credit and free Arkham Asylum, and TRU has the figure.

The TRU "figure" isn't the same as the CE statue, right?

The TRU figure is actually just a DC Direct Caped Crusader repaint of the Arkham Asylum/City Batman, it also comes with the in-game Caped Crusader skin.

The CE also comes with the Dark Knight in-game skin, Batman: Gotham Knight dvd, and the Ice Lounge challenge map.

I'm dying for the TRU Batman fig/skin but I don't have TRUs here in Kansas. :(

FGT Gears nights basically made the game for me. That and my brother payed for 1 and 2, lol.
