The "Rated R Superstar" Edge's Wrestling Thread
Wow, can anyone say "oversell" by Candice?
She perfected that in her softcore porn days.

EDIT: Fuuuuuck.... I was hoping the Lashley gauntlet would be all one segment.

I'm liking the new tag team of Kenny Dykstra and Nitro. They have great potential IMO. I'm not sure what they'll be called though. Hmm...

Same here. I just wish that they both had had their singles pushes continued.

As for a team name... Maybe they could have Ashley come to Raw to manage Dykstra, and keep Melina with Nitro, calling the whole group "MDMA"?

I wonder if anyone will get the reference... not that it's really all that good of a choice anwyay.

;)

I swear to God, Khali sounds exactly like my great uncle, Ralph Gene Willoughby, a 60+ year old alcoholic with a cleft palate who lives with his mother.

That's a classic, and I'm guessing a lot of the WWE fan base won't get it, but hey, what do I know?

EDIT: Holy shit, what a jump by Lashley!

New! WWE Yarmulkes!

I saw this on some smark site, where the fucking dipshit who posted it spelled the item as "yamaka," despite the proper spelling being on the fucking product page. Christ'amighty people's ignorance blows my fucking mind sometimes. Including those who would buy a DX yarmulke.
Was it The Smart Marks forums? I ask because that's where I saw it. Also, a couple guys (along with myself) post both here and at that forum.

Timbaland with zany facial expressions, divas, Sin City, and the Hives. That was one of the strangest things I have ever seen on Raw.

Guess it's good I'm taping it to watch in the morning before work. Anything so far that really worth watching on the show?

I really enjoyed the main event, it told a great story. I know I'm going to take some heat for this but I think Shane should be used more.

Why?

Shane is one of the top wrestlers they have IMO.

Believe me, I'm right there with you. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't agree with us, but it seems like most of the time I am thinking something, everyone else on the interwebs say completely the opposite. An example is the Cena/HBK match on RAW. I didn't enjoy it that much, I think they could have filled half of that time with something better. I can't believe anyone would consider that MOTY worthy. I get on here and everyone is going crazy. Another example is Samoa Joe. I find him to be mediocre in the ring, and average at best on the mic. 90% of the posters who read this are gonna go apeshit because someone doesn't praise Joe. Therefore, using that logic, I deduced that fellow CAG wrestling thread posters would have the opposite opinion of Shane-O-Mac. In a nutshell, that's why.

Me and you are idea brothers

They need to bring back the Horsemen and punk Carlito. How funny would that be?

Seriously though...does anybody else not see Cade and Murdoch turning on the Hardy's in the near future?

Though they would be cool as a faction...

Lashley-Vis, Melina-Candice, and the ending of Lashley-Shane ruled. "I HOPE YOU CHOKE ON YOUR APPLE", along with the chubby chick in the HBK shirt in the crowd going nuts for EVERYTHING ruled, too.

Khali's translator is great on the mic and makes Khali look like a monster - definitely a good hire by WWE, and he had me rolling with his "Me and the Great Khali were talkin' before the show..." line as I envisioned the Great Khali engaging in a regular, normal conversation with another human being and it had me rolling.

I liked the opening segment, the women's match, the Hardyz/Dyktro match, and Vis/Lashley, but overall, the show was a letdown.

As for your comment, Jay, I have always thought Khali's translator was terrible, but that mental image is great.

Meh, different opinions, why should I care. Until someone pays you for it, an opinion is still pretty damn worthless.

That said Raw was freaking HORRIBLE and that's after completly skipping over the Timberland video and normal Diva crap. Honestly, the best part of Raw was Shane 'o Mac beating the crap out of Black Lesnar. Glad to see I'm not the only person who likes Shane, hell I was rooting for him to win the ECW strap at Backlash. Shane o >>>> the entire ECW roster sans RVD & CM Punk.

Poor Nitro. How did he fall from a great I/C title feud with Jeff Hardy that produced some very good matches and led to a brief feud with Cena, all the way down to tagging with Kenny?

Creative couldn't come up with something better? WWE higher-ups didn't think he was over? He didn't wreck his hotel room? I want an explanation here!

Nitro is another guy that should probably be moved off of Raw, as he'd have a lot better chance of doing something on SD.

In fact, let's move EVERYONE off Raw except Umaga, Cena, Lashley and the divas and just let them go out there and have a tard-fest with Vince every week. And that will be the whole show, oh wait it already practically is.

I turned off RAW before the main event.

I couldn't take it any longer.
I turned off RAW before the main event.

Yep me to, I don't think I can watch it anymore, and I'm not blaming Raw entirely for that as it's not aimed at my very late twenties demographic.

I just think I'm too old to suspend the eye-rolling now.

Random, but someone posted this at another forum and I laughed a lot at the memory. Plus it fits in the topic, so.... Flash back to 1999-2000 or so:
Lashley-Vis, Melina-Candice, and the ending of Lashley-Shane ruled.

I agree with all of that. The Lashley-Vis match was decent for what it was. Nice strength and athleticism from Lashley.

Candice REALLY is impressing me. She seems very natural in the ring. She kind of reminds me of Trish Stratus in that she started out as nothing more than T and A but is working her ass off to be more than that. That gets respect from me.

Shane/Lashley was solid. I like how Shane worked the back of Lashley the whole match. It really came of as credible. And the ending, that was fucking sweet.

The rest of Raw was worthless.

Agreed, I really enjoyed the finish of the main event as well. As hard as Candice is working, I still think Mickie is being underutilized.

Not to veer too far off topic but I think it'd be hard to over-estimate Samoa Joe. Here's why...

Back in 2006 I started buying TNA DVDs because I was sick of the WWE crap. One of the first ones I got had some Samoa Joe matches on (Best of the X-Division volume 1? I don't recall exactly). I was watching it in my neighbor's room while he and his roomate played Warcraft on their computers. Samoa Joe caught the attention of my non-wrestling watching neighbor because,

"Holy shit, no one told that guy that wrestling is fake!"

Catching the attention of my neighbor is something that nothing short of head dropping, stiff kicks to the face violence could do. For that, Joe will always be something special in my mind.

I do think he's being wasted against more than half of the TNA roster. He needs to stick to wrestling AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Sabin and Kurt Angle. I don't think anyone else is credible as far as facing him goes. I could never suspend enough disbelief to imagine a fiftyish Sting beating Joe.

Agreed... although AJ Styles/TNA/X-Division got me into indy wrestling more than anything else.. I'd say that because of Joe, that triple threat they had with Daniels (at Unbreakable 05?) is my favorite match evarrrr.

With Joe and Punk gone, I don't even know who's in ROH anymore. I'm way out of touch with the wrestling scene in general. Turn back the clock to 1997 and then we're talkin'!

Shit I'm old.

cena = submission master. next i hope cena kidnaps steph and then it turns out the baby is cena's and then they send hhh to smackdown haha

I was at the PPV. It's basically like the first show all over again so it ought to be easy to get into.

The card is:

Takeshi Morishima vs. BJ Whitmer
Naomichi Marufuji vs. Rocky Romero
The Briscoes vs. Claudio Castagnoli
Roderick Strong vs. Delirious
Nigel McGuiness and KENTA vs. 'American Dragon' Bryan Danielson and Takeshi Morishima

It's only $10 as well.

Sounds like a decent angle. :bouncy:

I'm just waiting for HHH's return (no flames please). The only person worth watching right now is Punk and even he's being underutilized

fuck how did i miss these earlier this month...
