The Sixth Annual CAG March Madness Contest - Time For Our Brackets to Fall Apart

After hearing one of the Kentucky players say something to the effect of "we're playing Cornell in a basketball game, not a spelling bee", I'd like nothing more than to see Cornell stomp the shit out of them. It'd kill my bracket completely, but I don't stand a chance to win anyways.

It was DeMarcus Cousins that said that (I'm 99% sure), and I have a lot of friends who live in Lexington who I will be blistering with UK-losing spam, especially if Ohio State moves on (since I'm from Ohio)

Well, I'm way back but if my picks are good from here in I win. Means a kentucky champ. with game against ohio st. Butler and duke being the other 2 final 4 teams. Not too far fetched at this point for the way the brackets look.
 
Holy crap that Xavier - K State game was amazing. I was watching in my bedroom and I woke my wife up by constantly yelling through the OT, especially when Crawford hit that 35 ft 3 pointer with 4 seconds left to force double OT. Too bad Xavier couldn't hold on. It would be a shame after all these upsets if we still ended up with a Final Four of all 1 and 2 seeds.
 
I'm surprised Syracuse took this long to lose to be honest. ANY year I have them going far (losing to Kansas, haha) they screw me over. The fact they failed to screw me over (outraced by Kansas) is at least a plus for me this year. Also, in retrospect, I knew I should have picked Butler to win at least a game or two. Stupid ESPN convincing me to pick UTEP with the logic that a 12 always beats a 5 somewhere.

I did predict losing a final four team yesterday though. Would have assumed it'd be WVU though seeing how they suffered an injury last weekend.

Oh, it wasn't last weekend. Their starting point guard broke his foot in practice on Tuesday this week. I feel awful for him (and the rest of their team).
 
So I have nobody left in the mid / west. But at the same time, if Duke wins tonight, I'll have everybody still alive in the south / east.

I got 2 out of 4 Final Four teams, which isn't too bad this year. However, I sucked so bad early on (and my champion is gone) that the best I can do is 15th now.
 
If WVU beats Duke, I'm out. But if Duke beats WVU and then loses, I'm either 2nd or 3rd. If Duke wins all, so do I!

...4thHorseman: everyone's left side bracket is messed up. Nice picks for real. I played the same bracket on ESPN that I played here, and it's in the top 97% out of ~5 million (170,000th). Yours would be even higher!

Absolutely. Wow, what garbage. He calls WVU both a cinderella and an "upstart Big East team." WTF? They've been highly ranked all season AND won the Big East tournament.

He also calls Mich St. a cinderella and a "faithful sidekick team." They are a little beat up, but hell, they've go the Final Four 50% of the time since 1999.

You get 16 pts. for each semifinal win and 32 pts. for picking the championship winner.

I guess my Michigan State pick looks a little more realistic today than at the start of the tourney. I've known all along that if MSU wins, I win. Let's hope Summers, Lucious, Green, Roe, Morgan, and Allen can pull it out this time without Carolina in their way. :bouncy:

No, you're thinking of starting point guard Kalin Lucas who is a different person from backup Korie Lucious. It is somewhat confusing though.

Just looking at the scores, it seems like this is the worst set of brackets we've ever had, though it's been a great tournament in spite of that.

Man, that ending was the slowest heartbeat. Butler was sooooo close to winning that game, but I'm glad Duke won because that means I win (3rd place of course)!
 
Well, in the end I'm out $20 bucks from my tourney pool and I will make a CAG happy with my Saint's Row 2. Great game to end a great tournament. It sucks that they are going to expand the tournament to 96 teams.
 
So close to coming out on top. Won the pool at work, but lost this here by 3 pts. Damn Butler.

Congrats to the winners! looking forward to this next year...though I don't know how it will work with 96 teams....
