We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.
Note: Only the retail games listed above can be registered through Steam. No other retail games can be registered and downloaded using Steam.

Funny people complementing Amazon when just a couple weeks ago people were nailing them for not besting Best Buy.

Everything is curcular and no one source is going to always have the best price. Personally, I think it has been a fine sale so far. Yes, the achevement system isn't as good as the summer sale, but it is still better than previous years.
 
Weird. My friend and I just traded random coupons for the objective, and there was an error during the trade. Somehow, my coupon ended up getting duped, while his disappeared and went nowhere. Would make me feel nervous about trading something more important. Unless it fixes itself later, or something.
 
So I wake up, check the objectives, and go to trade somebody but my coal has disappeared out of my inventory. WTF... did this happen to anybody else? I guess I'm looking for someone to trade coupons with now.

I had to refresh my page a couple times to get my coal to show up.

I'd be willing to trade coal for coal or something for a 33% coupon.

I have heard some rumors that DOTA 2 will be F2P, although I can't provide any backing to this it's just what I've heard and knowing Valve I wouldn't be surprised if it was true.

So far, even though I've only bought two things I think the sales been decent thus far. The only real reason I've bought only two things is because I either owned the other deals or didn't want them (either the game itself or at that price)

I will say I had more fun with the summer game they had going. It seemed to work better and was more rewarding. Honestly the biggest problem with this winter game is that it seems like Valves servers can't handle it. They honestly might just need to upgrade at this point.

Start a custom game. Make sure you have only one guy on your side, forgot which one you need. Give the enemy 0 of each guy. Start the game, pass a turn, done.

Anyone get the Renegade Ops Achievement? I know it's the first mission of the Coldstrike Campaign but I can't seem to find Santa.

Happened to me. Restarted steam and it came back.

Got Witcher Director's Cut, 50% off Space Chem, and a coal somewhere between Defcon, Fate of the World, and trading.

Use Custom settings . Set enemies team to ) units and your team to only having a machine gunner.
 
Man Dungeon Defenders receives more updates than Windows! I was browsing and noticed that Steam started downloading the second update for it since I signed in tonight!

I gave up and resorted to checking the Steam forums for that particular answer, wish I'd posted on here sooner :lol: Interesting game, think I'll go back to it once Xmas has died down.

Sidenote - I see that the coal trading achievement has been removed from the daily list (for now).

I spent 19 minutes completing that mission and never saw him.
 
Does anyone know how the THQ UK Saints Row 3 Season Pass DLC works? I guess it only gets you the 4 mission packs but none of the cosmetic mini dlc on steam. bummer, i thought I got everything! oh well.

Finally traded some coal and got a 50% off Puzzle Agent 2. If that ever hits a daily I might just buy that with coupon.

Also wtf on Dungeon Defenders. It downloads a nice 400mb patch earlier and then like 2 hours later it starts downloading another 200 mb one. Seriously wtf, lol.

AWESOME micro-review, made me laugh, thanks. The katana wielding in the videos is one of the factors that got me to buy it. It would be very hard for me not to get my money's worth out of this game.

That's Dungeon Defenders for you. It's the only game that I have updates turned off for, and I play it once a week. Unfortunately, even though it's a 3 GB game, it downloads like 1.5 GB or more every week in 3-4 patches. I'd rather wait 30 minutes to get up to date than have it constantly downloading huge updates all week because I have a cap.

Puzzle Agent 2 has an X-Mas achievement so I'd look for a daily deal by the time the sale is over. Probably 50-75% off seeing as it's 33% now.

Except you can't use it until the sale's over, assuming all coupons have the same restrictions in their descriptions.

Yours and mine both. I've gotten 8 pieces of coal in the last 8 achievements.
 
9 objectives, and the only non-coal one was the free gift (which granted me more coal). I accidentally crafted 7 into a coupon for a game I never heard of when I meant to click on the rules. I'm sure it's random, but damn.

No. The Beta key came with 2 additional gifts for friends. The gift one only is a single invite.

I think this should be on the main page for all to see. In addition, Dark Void itself is $2.99, making it another excellent choice for an impulse purchase.
