We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.
Note: Only the retail games listed above can be registered through Steam. No other retail games can be registered and downloaded using Steam.

I know you prefer Steam, but Fallout 1 and Fallout 2 are on sale for $2.99 each at GOG.com, with oodles of yummy extras and no DRM, GOG-style.

Anyone know how to play Binding of Isaac with a PS3 Dualshock 3 controller? I have MotionInJoy and have it set up to emulate the 360 controller. I've used it on every other PC game that supports gamepads, but for whatever reason it doesn't work for Binding of Isaac.

Help please?

I gotta say, there's a good chance I won't get it either. I really like shmups, but I got Jamestown already and it just feels like the superior game. But if I can get an achievement! *Might be a little addicted*

You take your chances with Fallout 1 & 2 on a modern computer. As evidenced by this thread on the Steam forums. The Steam versions are just not very friendly. The ones GOG sells are Windows Vista and Windows 7 ready, 32-bit and 64-bit.

I agree that it's nice to get it on Steam, but GOG gives so much TLC to old games to make them just perfect on new computers. Plus manuals, free wallpapers, avatars, the Fallout Bible, etc. It's hard to turn them down.
 
Ok in defiantly for both Puzzle Agents because I like Puzzle games and it's Telltale. Now lets hope the Gundemonium collection drops at 1 PM. If not I will need to wait till tomorrow again unless a game from the collection gets a holiday cheevo.
 
I have gundemonium collection on PSN and I didn't think it was anything special. I love bullet hell shooters like the Touhou games, and I also fell in love with the more casual affair of Jamestown, but I can't really recommend any of the Gundemonium games. Heck, even the PSN had better shooters (such as Soldner X-2).

The coupons don't say anything about time, so I assume they have to start working as soon as Monday comes.

Puzzle Agent is great and weird. Definitely a unique experience.

The game was changed recently to have a more achievable, uh, achievement. I might try this out now, too.
 
Nothing for me today. At this rate, I just might get through this sale while spending less than $10.

No achievement for that, but the intrinsic value is good enough.

If the coupons say January 2nd and don't mention time, they can't start being eligible at 1PM or whatever time Steam desires. This is not wishful thinking, just me saying that the deals must end by Sunday then, since the coupons can't be used with the sale.

Two questions about today's sales:
1. What are the chances that HiB4 will be included as a bonus for paying more than the average for HiB5, and when is HiB5 supposed to come out? (asking b/c of Super Meat Boy)
2. Is Civ 5 noticeably better than Civ 4? If I didn't really like Civ 4 will I like Civ 5?

Also dear lord at that meatboy achievement. Looks like I am not going to be doing that, even though I secretly want to try it and fail, lol.

The game was patched about a week ago to be clearer and offer more time for players. Looks like it worked :D

1. Very high, every numbered Humble Bundle has come with the previous numbered Humble Bundle as a beat the average bonus. I don't think anyone knows when HiB5 will come out.
 
Any thoughts on Driver San Francisco? I know it's not a bargain, but I haven't spent much this sale and the game looks really fun.
 
Had to buy that GTA complete collection. Never got to finish SA, and with GTAIII on the iPhone, I have had an itching to go back and play the games again.

ya there's 2 xmas achievements for SMB, I figured they'd choose the easier one so I didn't bother learning all the levels. Of course I was wrong. :( I've made it through 2 of 5. the rest are just brutal.

You can jump right to the level in the help video below to get the Kids X-Mas achievement without having to play any other levels beforehand. I managed to get it in a few tries. Just make sure to jump lightly over the pillars since jumping too high off the top of the screen counts as a death.

EDIT: Woah, I didn't realize the achievement that seems to count via the Gift Pile is... The Golden Gift. Argh, WTF. Nevermind about my post above; I will have to wait for a save file because these are sadistic levels through-and-through.

that's not the achievement. you have to beat all 5 levels in one playthrough.
