We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

Been waiting all sale for Heroes of Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes to get 75% off, today it hits for just 50% off at $7.5.... Quite disappointing, but I really want the game so I'm not sure what I'll do.

Also wanted Rochard and would have bought at 75% off, at 50% off for $5 I'm gonna have to pass. Especially since it seems like a likely candidate for an indie bundle.

That's actually the only thing tempting me. Rochard at 50% off isn't quite enough, given the amount of games I have bought.

Got a coal and a 10% off coupon with the ones that I did do, and have Trine and Magika to do.

I didn't realize there was two different bit.trip games. Bummed that I have the wrong one.
 
Do you think Steam will actually do a wrap-up/second chance thing tomorrow or just new deals? Since they've offered the daily deals an extra 4 hours after the new deals are up, I'm not sure if a second chance thing will happen.
 
Gotta say i have a feeling with all the coupons now being out, the next month is going to have some seriously crappy deals, due to them counting on everyone using the coupons to make them mediocre deals
 
Damn, my last achievement was -10% on Valve and they took all my coal. I've had 6 coal for a while and would have tried to get a 7th for crafting but I thought I had another day left.

I'm sure the server is just getting overloaded, like what happened back when the sale first started (coal didn't appear then either). I doubt anyone permanently lost their coal.

Did you check your TF2 items? It's very likely you received one from crafting coal, probably a hat or something.

Anybody want to team up and get the CSS achievement later? I think we can do it the same way as the TF2, but when you die with only 1 person the round ends.

Has Fallout 3 ever been cheaper than 9.99? I've been wanting to try the series out, and though New Vegas is cheaper for a few more hours, seems FO3 is the better game.

Fallout 3 GOTY was a daily deal for $7.49 a couple of days ago..

FO3: GOTY was $7.49 a few days ago. New Vegas is still a really good game, i highly recommend picking that up too.

Yeah, kinda light this year unfortunately. Deus Ex for $16.99 and Driver: San Francisco for $27.49 are decent, but I feel like waiting for a lower price :p

L.A. Noire was an unexpected surprise today though; too bad they didn't have Driver: SF for 75% off as well...

If I recall correctly from last year's sale tomorrow they'll have a "best of" sale? I might pickup Portal 2, but we'll see.

Has Fallout 3 ever been cheaper than 9.99? I've been wanting to try the series out, and though New Vegas is cheaper for a few more hours, seems FO3 is the better game. Edit: seems like it was a daily deal already.

For New Vegas, the Ultimate Edition is coming out in like 3 months for $50 with the same stuff you can get for 12 bucks now =\ Jump if you're interested.

Thats tough as I have both and like both of them a lot. Both can be played solo or with friends. They both also have demos so you might want to try them out to help decide. If I had to pick one though I'd say magicka. To me its funny and fun to play even more so when you have some friends to play with.

Well, Trine was $0.99 when I added to cart, but I guess the price got "fixed" and it's now $3.39.

A definitive no. One guy bought a game and got a coupon for 50% off that very game. It's just completely random.
 
Anyone have recommend Heroes of Might and Magic 5? I played through 3 and was interested in 6 but for 2.49 or 4.99 for it and dark messiah, seems worth it.

Pretty much same formula as the older games?

Generally the final day of the sale is the recap day which has items on sale again that had previously been part of the daily sales. So today is the last day for new sales.

If you check the timer on deals that are not for dailies you should see a 2 day timer kicking down so you can tell the sale runs for another 2 days, just no more NEW deals.

The sale will end at the mid day update on Jan 2.

Uhhh I'm NOT getting Trine for that price, considering Trine 2 is so short and Trine is said to be considerably shorter, not worth that price .. any chance of daily deal?

If you liked HOMM3, you'll most likely enjoy HOMM5 as well. They returned to the tried and true formula for many of the gameplay elements in 5. Although at times that AI seems even weaker than the AI in 3 to me with the bad moves it makes, but I guess you can always turn up the difficulty if that's a problem. While I still like 3 the best, I think 5 was still good enough to earn its place in line behind 3.

It's $3 and change and I got 4 hours out of it, I'd say totally worth it.
