CAGiversary!
Feedback

Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V4! You can find the V1 thread (Nov 2010-July 2011) here, V2 thread (July 2011 - Feb 2012) here, and V3 thread (Feb-July 2012) here. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 8/9
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Past Special Sales

Visit www.steamgamesales.com to check previous sale prices on Steam games. We do keep track of some older sales here though:

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

It comes up at 30% off if you own Alan Wake (I think) otherwise it's just a 15% discount.

I love a discussion about The Walking Dead as much as the next person, but holy shit has this thread bloated since the Summer Sale. I don't mind it so much, but I feel a bit sorry for anyone who just drops in looking for deal discussion.

To be a further killjoy (and semi-hypocritical), people on the fence about getting a game are probably not only weighing the price, but also the potential time spent.

I just noticed this. It comes up as $6.99 for me with 30% off. It says they are from the makers of Alan Wake and Max Payne. Is it just if you have Alan Wake? I have both that and max Payne so I don't know. I am tempted to get it just knowing it is 30% off! haha

Any opinions?

Also, curious about Death Rally. What does the Co-op entail? It has a Co-op tag on Steam, so if it's just a label for the team modes for multiplayer I'd be disappointed.

Death Rally on Iphone felt more like a drawn out minigame than a real game. I almost woulda bought this at the price offered but I'll wait until under $5
Did they shut down steamtraders and steamgifts for a extended period of time or permanently? Hasn't work all day for me
Well if Green man can get off their ass & put it up they've got a 25% off general use code right now.

So since I recommend Drakensang:The Dark Eye to a lot of people here, and having just now "finished" the game. I thought it should be my responsibility to forewarn future players that the final level is the worst final battle I have ever witnessed in my entire life of playing games. The difficulty curve is pretty good for most of the game. Then as soon as you reach the final battle it is nothing but endless fights; and by endless I mean the game will keep spawning enemies till you destroy these portal things to stop their "re spawning"

Only issue is the game will spawn in more enemies then it is possible to fight, So imagine like Dragon Age Origins where 50 enemies spawn in at a time and by the time you fight 25 down another 50 comes out. I just can not believe the developers thought this was a good idea. Worst is that is there zero diffculty options and zero cheat codes available at all. I just did not have the time nor energy to slug my way through gaining a inch a hour so I just youtubed the ending. The worst part is the game will lag and I went from over 60+ FPS to 10 fps just because there is way,way to many enemies on screen. When most fights in the game are around 5-6 enemy's the final battles go over 15

The rest of the game was a really fun party based RPG..But that last level :wall: I have a feeling the final level is where the European game design came into play and they just felt that the final zone had to be insanely hard, "Just Cause".
Good write up.

My main problem with The Walking Dead is I don't care about any of the characters. Everyone of them are boring. Which sucks- I like the premise of the show, and think it could have been entertaining. But, I have a hard time watching it when I grow bored with each scene.
Absolutely agree! I loved the first couple of season 1 episodes but they have made all of the characters so incredibly annoying. I can't stand love triangles either so as soon as a show goes there I pretty much tune out.

I have never read the comic so maybe I will give it a shot. PS+ will be adding the first two episodes to their free to play list soon so I am anxious to try them out. Unfortunately my laptop does not meet the minimum requirements to play the PC versions.

Everything I've read on it has been not positive to flat out negative. General consensus being it's not worth as much as they are asking. But hell, I haven't even bought skyrim yet because I get the feeling I will think that of the main game (never finished oblivion).

That's why I've stayed away from Skyrim, too. Oblivion is one of the few games I never finished. I rarely never finish a game, but I couldn't finish Oblivion. I spent over 60+ hours in that game, and finally realized I wasn't having fun. The combat felt too loose, couldn't recall the story after spending 40+ hours looting caves and other sidequest, dialogue minigame was frustrating, and my biggest problem was it was too damn big. I'd start off on a mission having to go across the map and end up in a cave for a couple hours, or if I made it to the other town I'd end up with 10 new missions only to forget the original mission I started out on. It was just too much for me. I'm sure my younger self would've forgiven some of the minor flaws and loved the scope. But, I don't have time to sit down to game for hours on end these days. Oblivion needs a commitment that I'm not capable of giving it.
Just a heads up: Gamestop finally decided to accept my Darksiders code, so you guys might want to give it another try.
Thanks, worked for me too.

I'm reading some okay stuff about it. Metacritic seems to indicate mixed to positive reviews. I think Metacritic is becoming more and more useless every day though. I've found that a better way to judge a game is to find a game journalist/writer or two whose taste in games is similar to yours and whose opinion you respect and go by that. GiantBomb gave it 4/5 and thats good enough to me.

I'm guessing though that if you're looking for more Skyrim content, get it. If you've had your full for the time being, then wait.

walking dead -- love the comic. love the tv show. don't understand the Rick hate; I think he's a solid character. Yes, they kind of messed him up a little bit because by having different characters survive between comic vs. tv show, they're changing his role in the group... but i don't mind. it's got a bit of the 'crazy woman' syndrome (where females on tv have to be bat shit crazy episode to episode), but overall? i couldn't be happier that we've reached a point where a show based on a comic like The Walking Dead not only got made, but is successful.

Glad they finally got away from the farm; I hope they nail the next setting, it's awesome in the comic.
Same for me but I tried several times and apparently when I went to https://impulsestore.gamestop.com/myaccount/orders
Items: GalCiv I: Ultimate Edition (Digital Download)

How do I have this?!? I have no recollection of EVER buying ANYTHING on Impulse....
I really don't see why people praise this show. Yes, the first season was fine, I didn't really grow to like any of the characters, but over all I was willing to see it as a "slow start." But the second season was obnoxiously droll, not to mention dragged on at a snail's pace.
Now I have no problem with character development, in fact I LOVE it. Shows like Deadwood, A Game of Thrones, etc... are mainly character driven with slow-burning and climax-building action sequences thrown in to end/start various plots. However, the difference is those shows have deep and intriguing characters (whether they're likeable or not) that keep the audience entertained and interested. Not only that, but as these character's grow they are put into (usually hazardous) situations/conflicts that the viewers love to see them worm their way out of.

The problem with the Walking Dead characters' is that not only are the majority selfish idiots (okay that maybe just my opinion), but that there is rarely any conflicts. Sure they have domestic conflicts galore (baby daddy issues anyone?), so much so that it turns soap opera-ish at times, but when it comes to the show's main appeal: surviving in a zombie apocalypse, there is very little connection, and thus very little going on of interest. Case in point: once they hit the farm, little occurs and the show becomes boring because everyone is safe. There is no impending danger to motivate the group so things become stagnant and the character's become complacent and default to squabbling over domestic issues: who should do laundry, who should be able to use a gun, who should be allowed to go grocery shopping, etc... And then of course when they try to go something, the writer's come up with a tired old zombie-human ethics plot-twist (ie: barn scene) which if you're a horror or zombie enthusiast is nothing new to the genre.

Ah, its just all so very dull and contrived. I really wish zombies would go away for awhile.

Sorry for the long post and the fact that no one is talking about this anymore, but I just caught up with the thread and needed to vent. End of rant. :whistle2:#
EXACTLY, glad you put my thoughts into more words; but ya, I never meant to imply I have an issue with character development...but for fucks sake, its a damn zombie apocalypse, throw in a few zombies here and there. I think I'll just go back to the comic...
Walking Dead isn't a show about zombies, it's a show about people who've been caught in a zombie outbreak.
yep...a show about people caught in a ZOMBIE OUTBREAK; not a show about a bunch of people out camping or hanging out in farmhouse.
The Walking Dead is best in paper form. It's one of my favorite comic series. I read all the medium size collections as they are released. And yes, it's about how the people act and change because of the harsh scenario, and there are zombies.
And what do you think about the series...lol, I find that everyone who's read the comic HATES THE SERIES. I at least stand it and get the lose in median change...but really what I hate is when crap turns out like this from comic books. I mean hell, you got the script, you got the storyboard, just grab some actors, dress em up pretty and start filming, SIMPLE AS THAT!
To be fair, that's true about all good Zombie media. The original Romero films were entirely about societal issues of the time (racism, sexism, consumerism, etc.) and how people deal with them after society falls apart. Zombies should always be used as a catalyst. Because as a monster/threat, they're sorta dull.
I beg to differ slightly. Zombie films are typically about people, yes, but most don't screw up the displays of constant danger like The Walking Dead does. And I think zombies are a huge threat, hell when I first watched Night of the Living Dead, I was afraid to go outside anytime after dusk for weeks.
Well, I didn't feel too bad about ranting, but I didn't want to deter the thread away from steam talk, like it looks like I've done. :)
Don't worry, it's not like you started it. Besides, I'm all about insuring perpetuating any and everything off-topic.
SCS (Stupid Character Syndrome).
Don't any and all anything suffer from this. I can't remember a show where there wasn't at least one people I HATED WITH SUCH A PASSION for their stupidity. I could fill this thread with my list of hated media personas.

Do you get a Steam key after inserting the email key into Gamestop site or does the email key also go to Steam straight away?
And what do you think about the series...lol, I find that everyone who's read the comic HATES THE SERIES. I like the comic, but I wouldn't say it's so good that a straight translation would have easily made for a good show. In the comic there are far too many big monologue scenes that wouldn't work at all in a tv medium, and the syntax of those big monologue bits are clunky even in print; and while I do wish the tv show would go a bit darker like the comic, there are some huge pacing issues in the comic that would be an even bigger problem on tv, and it's not without its own set of stupid character syndrome in the comic as well - though definitely not as bad as in the tv show - that would need a lot of rehauling when translating over.

So yeah, I like but not love the comic, so I don't really hate the show. (though I don't love it either. It's maybe average, for the most part.) But I do think it being in a zombie genre helped it have a better reputation as a tv show that it deserves, because hey, there aren't a lot of tv shows set in this genre. Most problems in TWD the tv series are mostly general writing issues (lack of good characterization/main plot beyond maybe 1 or 2 main characters, a whole lot of stupid character syndrome, problematic writing for characters, especially female ones, pacing issues, etc, all of which contributes to a lot of no1curr even if they manage to have a halfway decent plot, because I care so little about the badly written characters involved) rather than anything to do with it being a adaptation of a cult beloved comic OR being in the zombie genre.

Honestly, at this point I think they have better characterization in TWD game than they do in the show, lol.

For those who missed it
$10 Fallout:NV Ultimate Ed. At GameStop: http://impulsedriven.com/falloutnvue

LoL Download size: 2.45 MB ??? (it's not even close to 2.45GB...rofl, HUGE)

Requires Steam to play of course, so 100% steamworks. One of the best PC games of all time in my opinion, especially the ultimate edition.

Killing Floor for $5.98 GMG (good?)
http://www.greenmangaming.com/s/us/en/pc/games/shooter/killing-floor/
Requires Steam to play of course.
Seems like it's been cheaper than $6 (or should be since it's been out for a long time)

I like The Walking Dead (tv show) but some of the characters definitely annoy the hell out of me (
Am I the only one who was like "YESSSSS" when Shane was finally killed?
) but the general consensus seems to be the comics are far better. Welp, I know what's now on my reading list! I have a backlog for THAT too, lol.

Ok... Back to steam games. Umm... Oh yes, I'm visiting my sister this weekend and yesterday I took the opportunity to try out Fallout New Vegas on her Xbox (I wasn't crazy about FO3, nor am I a huge fan of RPGs in the first place) but FO:NV keeps tempting me for some reason. I liked it better than FO3 so far, but I didn't play much yet, just a few beginning quests. Maybe when the ultimate edition is $5 I'll bite. It'll probably be only as low as $10 for this Quakecon sale, right?

Sorry but this Walking Dead discussion has been the first interesting read this thread has given me since the end of the sale. Keep it up, people.

And my $.02 about TWD, it's a fantastic series, and one of the most emotionally wrenching pieces of literature I've read (I'm an English teacher.) Every month/week I have talks with students about events of the new issue/episode.

I've played up to about halfway through Episode 2 on the video game, and I think it's a great companion to the comics, but not of the same caliber.

It's just great to see this franchise become so successful. Way better than sparkly vampires or reality TV trash.

FWIW, I'm an Elder Scrolls fan from way back (the 90s!) and I really like Skyrim overall and think they did a good job with it. It's not perfect but I think it's the right direction for this sort of game. I was skeptical at first because after loving Morrowind, Oblivion was really bleh to me. For example, Oblivion did a piss poor job of creating an atmosphere with the same 3 rumors recycled forever and ever and overheard random conversations that made no sense. Skyrim fixes that and has a fairly believable atmosphere.

That said, this sort of game is not for everyone. It's an open sandbox and almost more a world simulator really. If you let it, it can surprise you, amuse you and give you some great experiences but I do think you need to be open to it and bring some imagination along. It's definitely more a 'about the journey' experience than it is about the goal. I did find the main quest this time around better, and less repetitive ugh, than Oblivion, but if someone wants a more gamey game that keeps you on task in a mostly linear progression toward a specific goal then this definitely is not the game for them and that's okay.
I'm reading some okay stuff about it. Metacritic seems to indicate mixed to positive reviews. I think Metacritic is becoming more and more useless every day though. I feel the same about Metacritic and don't think they can be relied on. Basically, like you said, this is more Skyrim. Either you want that or you don't. The only other thing I am getting out of it is that it seems as though it may be a little more weighted to be enjoyable and beneficial to people playing evil characters than good. I know the good gets get a crossbow and to hunt vampires etc but the bad guys get a whole new form to transform into with lots of powers etc.

Also, and we all know this well, if you think something is priced too high for you it's perfectly reasonable to wait around for a sale.
I wasn't aware I had an Impulse account, guess I did...went to my order page, saw this....
Stardock used to own the Impulse site and client before they sold it to Gamestop. Any of their games will still show up and register there but they are pulling from the Steam version sort of like Desura pulls games you got elsewhere. It isn't that you actually bought it from the store but that you bought a game from the company that (formerly) owned that store.
Sorry but this Walking Dead discussion has been the first interesting read this thread has given me since the end of the sale. Keep it up, people.

I had been holding off commenting, but I feel the polar opposite. I really dislike zombies and feel like they are overexposed and overrated. I have no interest in Walking Dead either and everything everyone says is just Charliebrownteacherese to me (besides the odd BSG comment which I can relate to). OTOH there have been plenty of other conversations in this thread that was interesting to me. But if the zombie TV bla bla OT keeps up I'll probably visit a little less tbh. Actually I could use with visiting this thread a little less than I do anyway. :p

I was at Emerald City Comicon earlier this year and had basically camped out in the main auditorium to wait for George Takei. Well one of the panels was Walking dead people. Some annoying dudebro guy and some blond chick neither of which sounded very interesting to me. I just kept thinking 'UGH STFU and put George Takei on!'

As a general comment though, I'm tired of the pretentious 'let's explore human drama with the backdrop of robots/zombies/aliens/take your pick but it's really about the human drama' schtick. I want sci fi that is sci fi, fantasy that is fantasy, and horror that is horror. Save the soap stuff for day time. And actually yes I will admit I did catch the odd episode of Passions here and there and that was some crazy shit but at least it knew that and didn't take itself seriously and try and be all dramatic and (faux) deep.
...but I feel a bit sorry for anyone who just drops in looking for deal discussion.
This used to be me. I'd click on thread wondering what the dotd was and see the op 3 days behind, hmmmm ok. Click on last page to see if anyone posted it and have to go back through 5 pages to figure out today's deal, frustrated.

Then I realized it would only take me a couple seconds to click the store link in Steam, which I have open anyway. And then I realized that most of the discussion is more interesting/enjoyable than most of what I read on the internet anyway.

So yeah, kind of frustrating for someone that just pops in looking for a deal, but if you put that aside and soak it in you'll get more out of this thread than many other threads on cag.
Do you get a Steam key after inserting the email key into Gamestop site or does the email key also go to Steam straight away?
From Gamestop/Impulse, it's a little annoying. You have to have their client installed to check the "My Games" section for your Steam keys, which you then have to enter into Steam. It's the client part that bothers me; all the other sites make the key available via their web site (Amazon, GMG, GG, GetGames, etc). Naturally, it autostarts on boot and pins itself to your task bar.

I always wind up installing the client, copy & pasting my keys and immediately uninstalling it.

Odd, It seems like Steam has removed Battle Vs Chess now from the Steam store completely. I wonder what happened to all the people who ended up buying the game since the game couldn't even start due to launch issues.

If this helps or hurts people, Elder Scrolls fan from way back.

Daggerfall - Great ES game but it was a product of it's era.
Morrowwind - Awesome. Especially the 2 expansions. Added a ton of content. I seriously spent months in that game.
Oblivion - Ok. The best thing to do was avoid the main storyline all together. It really wasn't all too hot IMO. I did, however, truly enjoy the Knights of Nine expansion. The other expansion was ok but I didn't care for it.
Skyrim - I really have enjoyed Skyrim. The best parts of I liked about Morrowwind (i.e. sometimes, you just shouldn't be trying to fight a dragon at level 1 and expect to win) and what I liked about Oblivion (i.e. much bigger environment, more stuff to do in the way of quests and side quests) and mooshed it together.

I bit on Dawnguard yesterday after hemming and hawing. I spent around 5-6 hours last night just PLAYING Skyrim and I never once came into contact with anything. Not saying I went out of my way looking but in playing I found all sorts of other stuff in Skyrim I hadn't already done so I got tied up with that. (not to mention, I spent about 30 minutes trying to kill a dragon priest with a level 4 mage... I did not win...) Once I get to the actual Dawnguard content, I'll let you know my opinion but again... it'll just be MY opinion, not some reviewer who does it far more eloquently than I.
The real problem, as I see it, is that the title itself confuses almost everyone. "The Walking Dead" does NOT really refer to the zombies, in fact, it is more in reference to the "main characters" themselves. They are in fact, "the walking dead" when you stop and think about everything going on in the "world" the show is taking place in.
That's probably the most interesting thing I've heard this week. Probably will see the show in a more negative tone now, a little more meaningless in their journey. But, hey, I'm easily entertained.
I think the best shows on TV right now are probably Homeland and Sons of Anarchy. I would normally include Dexter but last season wasn't what it should be. Thrones is great too.

Sorry for going off topic in the Steam thread!
Love SoA. And I've heard really great things about Thrones. Not on Netflix though and I don't have cable.

I'll definitely be jumping on to the Walking Dead s2 when it comes out on Netflix, which should be during the premier of the third season. The characters didn't really intrigue me either though, tbh.
Am I the only one who just keeps all their software on a NAS so it's always available? That's all in once place, accessible now to anyone you want on your network (no re-downloads and works during internet outages). I suppose if you have to go somewhere you can re-download on the road which is nice if you travel a lot...
Yeah, that's it! I do the same thing in our house. Everything everyone d/ls goes on the NAS in the appropriate folder Music, Video, Games, Apps, etc.

Then everyone in the house can access it. I travel a lot so I still d/ to my laptop occasionally, but my a recent software update to my NAS gives me remote access, I'm going to have to play with that.

Super convenient for everyone in the house:applause:

Game on,
As a general comment though, I'm tired of the pretentious 'let's explore human drama with the backdrop of robots/zombies/aliens/take your pick but it's really about the human drama' schtick.
Thank you! This is what I was trying to get at last night, but I was way to tired to put the words together. lol
Has anyone checked out Gametap? They have an unlimited play package for $10/mo that I'm kind of tempted to try out.
Had it when it first came out and loved it. Great chance to play a ton of classic older games. I especially loved hooking the laptop up to a big screen, grabbing a couple controllers, and playing some classic arcade games.

Then Win7 came out. Their client didnt work in Win7 and they pretty much flat out said it was going to be a long while before it did. Got a refund and never looked back. How shitty of a company can you be, that when MS provides openly available betas of a new OS and you don't immediately start working on an update to your software client.

But honestly, if you have a huge backlog, you'll probably end up pissing away $10 and not hardly using it.

That makes sense, I know I always feel like they ruin any movie Shia Labeouf is in because of these issues(Horrible Romantic Interest main plot lines :wall: ). But really I think the bigger thing is, "The Walking Dead" is the first like zombie movie/show some people have really been exposed to, I know my parents could easily watch The Walking Dead and they hate horror, So really I guess you could say TWD is perfect for AMC's target audience that already watches Mad Men and such. It is kind of like my first zombie show for people who only know about zombies because of one or two movies but never had a interest in it.

Also Passions was the best wasn't it? I mean it was like Twin Peaks the soap opera.
Odd, It seems like Steam has removed Battle Vs Chess now from the Steam store completely. I wonder what happened to all the people who ended up buying the game since the game couldn't even start due to launch issues.
Nobody knows yet. The people who bought it put support tickets in but anyone who has dealt with Steam 'support' (and I use that term loosely) knows that it is a laughable joke and they are anything but supportive.

The problem is what it always has been. Anyone at Valve who has any power to do anything or any useful knowledge whatsoever is in an ivory tower shielded from the general customer base by an army of useless drones who regurgitate canned, unhelpful responses.

According to some people on the thread in the general forum, Valve is at least aware of it now and has apparently contacted the developer where they are now pointing the finger of blame at each other.

No one has reported getting a refund or being able to actually use the game yet though.

I would agree with that assessment for the most part, but the lore purist in me was annoyed by Knights of the Nine. The gameplay part of it was decent I will admit, but I felt like they took the very pagan religion of Elder Scrolls (remember the scantily clad priestesses in Daggerfall?) and turned it into some Monty Python version of the Catholic Church. :p

I did like the Shivering Isles expansion of Oblivion quite a bit though I think because it reminded me of sort of happy rainbow Morrowind on acid.

Anyway, I think Skyrim mostly brought back the pagan aspect of the religion with places like the Dibella temple in Markarth and such but that church in Solitude does look decidedly Catholic. :whistle2:s

Psst. Just go talk to a guard.

It was some crazy ass shit no doubt. I like weird and that show had it in spades.

If by main storyline you mean the entire game, then yes. There must be a high amount of lead in cyrodil's water supply, because 90% of the characters you interact with and get quests from are complete retards. The writing in Oblivion is truly abysmal, and most of the quests (MQ, guild, or otherwise) make no fucking sense at all. There must be a lot of lead in the shivering isles place too, because all the characters there try so hard to be FUNNY AND WACKY AND HAHA LOLOL that it hurts my brain just thinking about it.

The fact that Oblivion got such praise by 'professional' reviewers is definitive proof that bethesda are some of the best bribers around.

Agreed, but I still liked Shivering. I don't know, maybe I have a soft spot for giant mushrooms. :p

Remember the overheard conversations in Oblivion?

Random Lobotomized NPC #1: They say syndicates of wizards have led a boycott of Imperial goods in the land of the Altmer.

Random Lobotomized NPC #2: Really?

Random Lobotomized NPC #1: Huh?

Random Lobotomized NPC #1: You too.

I do this in my house too and I use Steam Mover so I don't have to have more than one download of the game around and it is really helpful with organize/maintaining your SSD. I even have .exe link for Steam Mover loaded as a game in Steam for quick access. I highly recommend Steam Mover for backing up your Steam games and maintaining where the games are stored.

What about hearing them talk to themselves. Any by that I mean two npcs are talking and they both have the same voice actors. Or when you talk to someone who's drunk or something and they have a different voice, and then you hit rumors and they talk completely normal.

I tried to pretend that the beggars were putting on a Cockney accent because they thought it would make them sound more pitiful and hence get them more money. Or something.

But yeah that was really bad in a 'Did you guys actually even play the game you made?' sort of way.

Reporting back, I actually played Airport Control Simulator for a few minutes last night. Better than I thought it would be, but far from a true simulator. You just use the mouse to point and click and make planes land.

No, when I set it up, I wasn't thinking about that, but now that I travel alot and dont' use Steam cloud for saves, I'm considering redirecting my Steam folder to the NAS. It sure would make it easier when I travel to grab save game files.

I'll let you know how it turns out.

Dawnguard while interesting is getting put on my wishlist and I might not even grab it come winter sale. I have 41 hours into skyrim, and feel like I have barely touched the game. I don't need new content for it, let alone for $20.

I'd be interested in it. I'm not in a position to make one now, but for future reference I'd like to know how people are doing it with Steam, particularly if you have a laptop you use to play Steam in location other than your home.
