We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Opposing Force CD-keys cannot be registered through Steam. Opposing Force was included in a retail Half-Life package. The Half-Life CD-key included in the package will unlock all of the games in that package, including Opposing Force.

I've played it on the pc some, and on the ps3. If you have a rig that can run it then I would say it's worth playing through at least once. Be aware it does come with securom though.
 
Well Crysis was free during the Origin coupon glitch...

With Crysis 3 out next year I would expect 2 to drop further, though at 75% off it'll need a MSRP drop to go lower than $10.

There's a new market where you can buy and sell items using Steam wallet money. It's currently in beta with select TF2 items. It launched yesterday.

I wish I'd had access to RPG Maker back when I was in high school. Looks a lot more fun than the time I spent with QBasic games I was trying to write.

I really wouldn't consider them competition. At least not when compared to what Amazon faces in the retail marketplace. I mean, Amazon goes head to head with Walmart/Target, B&N, Walmart/CVS/RiteAid, etc. GfWL, Origin, Uplay, and Impulse are all a joke compared to Steam, so it doesn't matter if they have Amazon level of customer service, when their gaming service is so poor in comparison.

Yeah, if you buy from Amazon and redeem on Steam, Amazon makes some bucks, but Steam still gets their cut from the publisher.

Until another service truly steps up to the plate and competes with Steam AND a mechanism exists for transferring libraries between services, Steam has zero incentive to improve customer service.

I think it's worth the extra $2.50. It's much shorter than the original game, but it's more content with some cool levels.

If anyone could only afford one, or only wanted to spend $5, definitely choose the original over Warhead, though.

I guess I was thinking of it as being a place where I could put unloved spare keys so they could find nice homes. I'm not really sure how I think it would be different from just telling you that 5UDJM-GCJ7L-T4KND is a code for Theater of War 2: Africa 1943.

I wouldn't be so quick to laugh about it. Sure, right now it's in a poor state. However I believe they will continue to evolve and push their online store and continue to build it into future operating systems. If they do that and more developers begin developing with it in mind as it evolves, it will become big and successful. It'll just take quite a while (like 7-10 years) before it gets there.

Kind of a bummer there's no new unlockables. Just the Baddest Santa skin which is available every year. Oh well, I'll get to work on the new map achieves at least.

Ehh, 90% of my experiences with Amazon CS consist of me explaining the issue 5 times before they do the wrong thing (like refund my purchase when I didn't ask them to) or just say "Sorry! Here's $10 credit!"

As far as competence, there's a massive language barrier with Amazon CS, and there's always nonsense and confusion, but they always fix it. Can't complain too much, but I wouldn't consider them the model of good CS.

Uh, new axe and new gun unlocks. But yeah, no new skin unloacks for cheevo whoring.
 
Killing Floor is ones of those games where it's fun to boot up around the holidays/Steam sales where they have a themed event. However, after I play for a few hours it gets old and I put it in hibernation until the next event.

I give them credit, though, in the last year they've added more interesting free content like new weapons and such.

anyone who bought Humble Android Bundle 4, Waking Mars was in it, but not yet on steam, but it did get released on steam earlier today, so keep an eye out for an incoming key, or check back on your bundle page soon.

It LOOKS like the full game, but it isn't. At least mine wasn't. It just showed up as "Ravaged" in my library, but once I installed it and turned it on, it says it's a demo on the menu.

If it doesn't have to be the main part of the plot, then Pastwach should fit that description. One of the more minor threads in the story involves a person from the future pretending to be a (Mayan? - it's been a long time since I read it) god.
