Welcome to the Steam Deal Thread V5! You can find link to past threads at the bottom of this post. Read post #2 of this thread for Steam FAQs and more.

This is a Wiki post. Please read this
We appreciate you helping keep this thread up to date. The sales change virtually every day so no one person has the time to update them all. If you notice a game is no longer on sale, feel free to delete its line from the sale list. Of course, if you see a game is on sale, add it to the list. Make sure your changes match the thread's format! For example, every game that's on sale is part of an unordered list. When adding a game to the list, copy an existing line and update the link, title, and prices. That way, the format stays correct. Do not list percentages off! We list the original price and the sale price here. If you have any suggestions for major changes to the post/thread, PM me (EastX) about them.
for instructions on updating the thread.

Preorder Deals - Updated 10/28
Group Buys - Updated 8/14

Several multiplayer Steam games are available in 2-packs or 4-packs. These packs offer a discount over buying multiple copies of a game separately. We also maintain group buy trade threads for several games, so please use those threads if you're interested in setting up a group buy.

Free Stuff - Updated 4/3

There are several free games and mods on Steam. These are a few choice ones; you can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Steam around CAG

If you are interested in joining the Steam CAG Community or participating in a trade or group buy with fellow Cheap Ass Gamers, please do so in the dedicated threads and not in the deal discussion thread. In the dedicated threads you will find CAGers with the same specialized interest who will be much quicker (and happier) to respond than in the Deals thread.

Steam Retail Key List

What is a CD key and where can I find it?

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7480-WUSF-3601

The CD Key is a serial number with a combination of 13, 18, or 25 letters and numbers - it can be found on a sticker inside your game's case or printed on the game's quick reference card.
The CD Key acts as your proof of purchase for the game - Steam Support may ask for it if you need to establish your ownership of an account. It is recommended that you keep your CD Key in a safe place to ensure the security of your account.

Thanks for the pep talk, fellow cheapass. You're strengthened my resolve.
Quick question, I have the vanilla DAO on Origin from when EA had that mess up a while back. I want to see how well the game plays on my pc before I get the ultimate edition (which I would get on steam). My question is if I play a few hours on DAO in Origin then go buy DAO:UE on steam, can I use the same save file?
I....don't really know. I tried to keep my versions of DAO the same (EA-based).

My old saves from DAO + Awakening (Retail) work fine in DAO Ultimate (Origin).
I usually keep my saves and back them up elsewhere when I need to move them, just in case; then put them back in the save folder where they belong, if I need them back there.
I did this when I transferred my saves from my older PC to my newest PC.
i.e. Save folder for DAO on Win 7 is - C:\Users\{your user name}\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age\Characters....

I have DAO + Awakening from Retail;
and DAO Ultimate from Steam and activated that key over Origin and the DLC key over BioWare Social.

Here's something you can do, since you already have Origin - it's basically what I did.

Buy DAO Ultimate on Steam.
Start Steam download of DAO Ultimate, at least.
Pause the download.
Right click on DAO Ultimate and get both of the game keys.
Activate the DAO Ultimate key on Origin.
Activate the DLC Key on your BioWare Social Account.

Make sure you have newest Patch (I think it's patch 1.05, IIRC) for DAO Ultimate - as it ends any of the DLC not activating properly issues from occurring.
Also, get Witch Hunt DLC's newest patch, as it fixes many issues there, as well.

EDIT:
Since I never activated DAO + Awakening (Retail) on my Origin account, I don't know about this (b/c this was before Origin became a thing). I only have activated DAO Ultimate on Origin.
Since you got DAO activated already on Origin, if you activate up on DAO Ultimate on Origin - I'm not sure if you'll be forced to re-download the entire thing (28 GB or so for DAO Ultimate) or if it'll just download what you're missing.

If not there, it'll be an Editor's pick in the Amazon January coupon sale so I can certainly wait that long.

Thanks I will copy this and save it for a future time. Might look into it for the Winter sale or something.

You're welcome.
Did I miss the torchlight 2 daily/flash, or has it not happened yet?
No it hasn't happened yet, thats what im waiting for too
Earth Awakening fixed ALL of these issues.
Ok, thanks. You've convinced me to give it another try.

Wait, why are people talking about repeats today? The sale ends Tuesday, meaning sales starting tomorrow are the final day. So if we have repeats, they'd be tomorrow, not today, right? (I believe sunday repeats are only for multi-week sales ala summer/winter sales. Final day repeats are more common for shorter sales, I think.)
Bioshock 1 and 2 as a pack were five dollars at Amazon and activate on steam (and might still be I didn't check) so there's no point in buying just 2.
Unless you already own 1. I don't know if Amazon gives out codes for the games individually.
Pretty much, yep. Stutters, slowdowns, crazy framerates drops all of sudden, game running in single digits - these were all nasty in the original Silverfall demo and full game - especially if you tried cranking the game-settings up like the Resolution and other graphical bells & whistles (like Shadows). Back then w/ the original Silverfall, you had to drop a lot of the graphical stuff down and res' down to keep it running decently. That's not even getting into the mediocre UI and the locked camera.

Earth Awakening fixed ALL of these issues. They reworked the whole entire engine, UI, and camera (they unlocked) all in Earth Awakening. Since they didn't plan to implement all of these fixes for the original game, that really hurt them, I think. It's sad Atari never opted to sell the expansion alone and/or repackage the game to sell it w/ Original Game + Expansion together in one pack. I can kind of understand Atari's point, since the game didn't sell well and was reviewed poorly - b/c likely the expansion probably wouldn't sell well, either. Though, it wouldn't surprise me if Atari made Monte Cristo kick it out-the-door onto the market too soon, as well - to try to capitalize on the major successes many games in the loot-driven ARPG genre. And/or with Monte Cristo, it wouldn't surprised me that Monte agreed to a release date and had such big scope for the game, that they couldn't get the technical stuff down properly by the time the game got its original release - a lot of times, these publishers don't budge much on release dates for a game if you agree to one, unless you're a big name or got a huge reputation the size of say Irrational Games Boston or Id Software.
I'm getting 30-45 FPS average with everything maxed out. Also tried the multiplayer LAN in tunngle with Seraphym and we got a lot of glitches/suttering. It was basically unplayable in LAN. Not sure how to fix it.

I almost bought Quantum Conundrum, but luckily I realized I already had a code for it before I did. Although I think this is a bad sign of my buying habits for steam... I might have a problem.
Unless you already own 1. I don't know if Amazon gives out codes for the games individually.
Yes they do give individual codes for ALL their bundles and you're free to sell or trade them as you please.
I've never heard of Chivalry before but I just looked at the video and it looks awesome.

Any thoughts or recommendations?
Badass game. I bought it on a whim and kept playing for 5 hours until 2 AM last night.

Highly recommend it at the 50% level.

Today is the last day of new deals. The Autumn Sale will terminate Monday 1 PM EST.

The Steam countdown clock clearly says the sale will terminate in just over 24 hours.

I was playing team elimination in Chivalry late last night and it was down to me versus three bad guys. All three charged me at once, I put up my shield to block, and an idiot on the other team swung wildly and decapitated + dismembered both of his teammates with a single swing. Then he was stunned after my block and I finished him off with a morningstar to the face.

Badass game. Very appreciative to see friendly fire in it as opposed to so many other multiplayer games these days that wuss out.
I'm interested in the valve complete pack has it ever been too much lower in price than it is right now? Should I go ahead and get it? These are the games that grant extra keys. I thought it used to be more, but I guess for that pack I would be just HL2.

Generally these sales always end on a Monday morning, so this should be the last day of new deals as I don't expect a 5 day sale to get repeats - especially when the dailies were good for 48 hours anyway.

That and there were only six dailies per day. Think they've probably phased out repeat day given the extended time periods on the deals. In this day and age it's pretty rare for someone to be away from a computer of some form for 48 hours unless you're in the military or camping or jail.

Actually the counter on all the non-dailies and today deals as well are set right now at 48 hours so I would believe there is still another round of dailies to be had on Monday.

So weird. Before the deal change-over, it read 24 hours.

Gah, tempted by Orcs must die 2, torchlight 2, and Quantum Conundrum. I doubt Orcs or Quantum will get cheaper by winter. Might have to hold out on Torchlight 2. :/ Still need to grab Mark of Ninja and some Civ V dlc. Why did steam have to hit me with this all on one day.

Maybe it was just glitched for a while, or maybe it is now who knows :dunce:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa is only marked down 33%? They must be joking. By this point I thought they were giving it out like defective condoms at a Greendale pep rally.

Can't grab AC on my country (fucking GFWL), can anybody help me out, i could do $7,50 paypal or Steam Wallet for it. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Got it, Thanks manyT for the awesome price.

Argh, bloody hell. I own the standard version. I wish it was easier for some of us to upgrade to a GOTY version. I don't mind paying extra.

Simply put: I have enjoyed the 3 hours I've put into Torchlight II more than I did much of the ~45 hours I put into Diablo III. This is a rad deal, even at $10. Buy iiittttt, folks!

I got it in a preorder 4 pack that came with a copy of TL1 which I sold for $3 so, effectively paid $12 on release. Don't regret it. Put 100+ hours into it and will probably revisit it after a few more patches/editor has been released.

I own torchlight but really couldn't get into it. Is 2 a lot better? The first one felt very dated and repetitive to me.

Securom DRM. If it was just Windows Live I'd be all over it, but I can't see paying *anything* for a game I can only play three times.
