a lot of games getting cards now since beta ended and even more since sale started

some win for the gamers as can collect, build esteem through levels and even sell

good win for the game companies as a little effort in creating cards and allowing cards results in increased sales

huge win for steam as they laugh to the bank on every sale transaction. brilliant plan

YES! Finally gonna make my first purchase of the sale on System Shock 2 :) quick question: is it important to play the first game before 2, or are they self contained enough?

EDIT: my word SS2 looks terrifying! :cold:
My first purchase too! Now I am going to check out all of the mods and see what is what.

I just did the same. I was kind of hoping to install some graphics mods, though, and I'm reading in the forum that I guess you need some program to enable mods, and need to have SS2 installed to a directory other than program files in order for it to work. Sounds like a hassle, so maybe I'll just play it "classic."

I want Metro Last Light, but feel I should probably wait longer for a lower sale.

Not only that, but I'd imagine Steam's "playtime" metrics are going to increase as a result.

I dream of purchasing something before the sale ends, if they actually put something on sale that hasn't already been on sale 5 or more times in the past year.   :whistle2:|

This is awful... this new router is a POS.  I'm not in charge of the service, but just went from being able to do all the things to downloading something on Steam nerfs all the bandwidth.  Unacceptable.  Comcast gives out nothing but hot street trash.  Guess I'll be buying games but waiting to download them.

On topic; **** yea, SS2.  Now just TSW and I'd be happy.

Really? A 14 year old game has never been that price before? Besides, if I am going to buy an old game like that I'm getting it from GOG where I get all the extras + DRM-free.
well to be fair, this was only in relation to steam sales, and this is the lowest it's ever been on steam. I wasn't really trying to start a fight, just pointing out that there have been some good less common sales so far.

*looks at System Shock 2*

[MysterD inspired shrug]
Don't know how anybody can go wrong w/ System Shock 2.

{infamous MysterD shrug}

Whether buying from GOG or Steam - SS2 must be played.

{infamous MysterD shrug}

EDIT:

I noticed SS2 on Steam has cards.

I so hope there's a Shodan card. ;)

All jokes aside, my wife and I have been using YNAB for years and it is hands-down the best budgeting software out there. We paid full price for v3 and I don't regret it at all.

EDIT: I just noticed that I just wrote exactly what their ad copy says on the sale page. I'm not an employee or anything, I promise.

Np, I wasn't looking for a fight either - just still frustrated that the community voted for Borderlands 2 the other day instead of Dishonored, really.

So you know, my installed folder for TSW takes up a whopping 38.2 GB of space....

:wall:

(Also, just ran the gamut; only my PC can connect. None of my portables, iPad, or consoles can connect. The neighbors wireless router has a stronger signal... :censored: )

What's on your wishlist that hasn't been on sale?

To be fair, Dishonored has been on sale other places; as a matter of fact, it's on sale on Steam right now. But yeah, that vote was a crime against humanity - I was hoping for Dishonored as well. I'm pretty sure it had more to do with everyone wanting to get the new Tiny Tina DLC on sale than the base game.

I'm waiting for them Dishonored DLC's to brick down in a sale...

I voted for BL2 and got new dlc at 66% off. With the daily sale, all of the newer dlc is only 33% off, so yay for BL2 winning the flash sale. =p

Yeah, that's what I plan to do. That and I'll pick up 2033 and sell my Xbox 360 copy. Heard it looks sick with a couple mods, and I thought it look pretty good on the Xbox, especially without the HUD. Almost every game looks awesome without a HUD, it really should be an option for most games.

Man wish I have some money to buy something from the sale. I was going to sell some cards in the marketplace to get a few bucks, but then found out I needed some requirements like buy a game which I picked up Tomb Raider: Anniversary for 80 cents. Sadly reread the thing and said nope it has to be a purchase in the 30 days. I thought it was purchase within the 30 days or something. Doh! Gotta wait til next month lol. Too bad the sale is only a few weeks. So many great deals.

So Deadlight won which surprised me. I was expecting Mark of the Ninja to win. I already own Deadlight though. I guess this is a good time for them to break out cards for it so if they do at least it isn't a total loss.

Second or third or whatever we're up to as a last second recommendation. I bought YNAB last sale and don't regret what I paid for it. Extremely simple to use and effective.

If Dark Souls goes on sale again, would it be worth getting? I already have it for PS3, so not sure if a repurchase would be warranted, although there is the DLC included.

You have to deal with GFWL, and you will need to mod it to get the most out of it but thats simple. Overall I'd say its the better version IMO. I went from a ps3 copy to the pc version and rpefer the pc.

For some reason I really liked Deadlight, but it was probably just good timing back in January. The soundtrack is superb by the way. I felt the game was a little short but it's a fun ride overall.
