To be honest, my big purchase was actually the week before the sale when I bought Sonic Racing Transformed for $5.
That glitch was better than just about anything in the sale, really.

You'll be almost 70 cents richer. It's not even worth the electricity to idle anymore.
I've mostly been trying to play the games instead of idling in them, but when I've had to I find that Steam Achievement Manager works wonderfully to keep used system resources low.

At this point things like Magicka and Garry's Mod should not be taking up a daily spot, a flash spot, and a CV spot. They should be 75% off base during the course of the sale.
You're so right. I suppose there's data suggesting that those games should be on the front page... but there has to be a saturation point where it's killing other deals. I hope Valve gets the message.

I admit I am tempted by Monaco at the 4-pack avg. price point $5.85 (61% off) $5.58 (63% off). However, since the grandest of times is derived out of co-op play and the single player isn't something to get your palms sweaty over (because it is a heist game after all), I'll have to pass.

I like some co-op but I have heard nothing about how good or bad the co-op matchmaking experience is with Monaco. Do people use mics and talk quietly like they are actually pulling off a heist? That could actually be quite comical.

Edit: Ha! I said $5.85 and meant $5.58. Doing too many things at once this afternoon, whoops.

Just grabbed the Monaco 4-pack, but I didn't get any new summer cards. What gives? I should have at least gotten 2. Anyone else have that happen?

P.S. Add me on Steam for some Monaco co-op someday.

I'm kind of tempted to get Rayman Origins.

I bought it super-cheap at Amazon a while back, but the DRM listed is TAGES (ugh, didn't notice). On Steam it says 3rd Party DRM: DRM-Free.

I can't for the life of me bring myself to install TAGES on my PC and I'm thinking for $6, Rayman with just Steam DRM might be worth it.

Let me ask this, if you already have Army II + Day Z mod, any reason to give War Z a look?
Probably not, but War Z has a vault that you can store your loot in (so you don't lose it when fucktards gangrape you) and you also always hold onto your money. I'm fairly certain DayZ does not.

DayZ is still obviously the better game, though. They both have flaws and are annoying as fuck if you ask me, though. Amusing, but nothing special.

Thanks for the write-up Idiotekque, but...

4 pages and nobody quotes this?
Finally.

Won't be HIB for years imo... only did TL1 humble to promote TL2 a couple weeks before it's release. Better with KB/M anyhow... if you want cheaper, 4-pack group buy.

TL2 is a much better game than TL1.
I don't spend much time playing on the PC anymore. But since this is not coming to XBLA I guess I have no choice. I enjoyed the first game both on PC and 360.

Idiot, This is by far one of the funniest gifs I have seen aside from the huge spider jumping one.

Dragonborn has been 50% off several times in the past few months...this just proves Gaben's feelings toward us.
I think it's quite intentional and brilliant, really. Summer Sales bring out the dipshits who might as well be console gamers. These people are the ones who pop in and buy game at 33% off, not even waiting for dailies/flashes/CCs.

What's the point of giving Skyrim a lower discount when everyone is flocking en masse to buy it for whatever price they put on it anyways?

So somebody please explain why Monaco is so popular right now?
Because some CAGs are under the impression that GabeN funbucks =/= real money. $40 or so of said funbucks that have gone into my PayPal over the course of the last month says otherwise.

Your right. It's not a $7.50 "Shut Up and Take My Money". It's a $5.60 "Shut Up and Take My Money".

So this was my first Steam Summer Sale and Its pretty dissapointing to be honest. I always heard how great this sale is and how games are extremely cheap but I think its just overhyped. The previous years my computer was garbage but the year I get a good computer the sales are bad. I have only picked up this sale The Binding Of Issac,Garry's Mod,Tomb Raider (1-3). Thats my little rant because Portal 2 wont go down to $2.50 ( I can dream).
I dunno, I've picked up a shit ton of stuff. At least $20 in DLC so far, even.

The prices are nothing out of this world, but many have been cases where they ain't gonna go much lower. It's been a solid sale.

Also for fable 3, are the quest packs the only campaign addons and the rest cosmetic stuff and not worth it?
The quest packs are good. The dog suit is better.

If anyone remembers the old Hi-C and turkey sketch from Saturday Night Live with Danny Aiello (can't find it on YouTube), just imagine me doing that but substitute Expeditions Conquistador for 75% off.

Why not valve complete pack?

I have had nothing but good experiences with random players in Monaco. Matchmaking is incredibly easy.

Kotaku even ran an article by the game's creator about the steps he took to make sure the game had a good community:

http://kotaku.com/how-my-game-cuts-down-on-online-gamer-obnoxiousness-493652383

Clams casino. Chef recommends!

Hmm. Is there a website or wiki dedicated to the steam trading cards yet? I'd like to see the possible stuff I can get for crafting badges before I actually do it and lose my cards..

Hey, watch your mouth! I never bought a game that was 33% off this sale! 50% is much more approveable (I know, not a real word) I like buying DLC 33% off, if it offers entertainment now, but buying a game from an online store in which you can't sell it back is not a place where 33% cuts through wallets like a hot knife through melting butter.

On a random note I see that Stealth Bastard has been renamed Stealth Inc: A Clone in the Dark for the PS3 release.  The developers/publisher ran a contest a couple months ago to find a new name because I don't think they could get it approved using the word "Bastard" or some such.

What are the cards for?

I wonder if this has anything to do with EA's peer pressure:

Q: One of the things that Steam does is this random deep-discounting of software, and it works well for them. Do you see that as something you want to do?

EA's David DeMartini: We won’t be doing that. Obviously they think it’s the right thing to do after a certain amount of time. I just think it cheapens your intellectual property. I know both sides of it, I understand it. If you want to sell a whole bunch of units, that is certainly a way to do that, to sell a whole bunch of stuff at a low price. The gamemakers work incredibly hard to make this intellectual property, and we’re not trying to be Target. We’re trying to be Nordstrom. When I say that, I mean good value – we’re trying to give you a fair price point, and occasionally there will be things that are on sale you could look for a discount, just don’t look for 75 percent off going-out-of-business sales.
lol, thanks for the laugh. Funny how EA puts out "Target" quality games and then asks "Nordstrom" prices from them.

Also, Mr. Martini's argument is invalid, because this.

Get it on Steam. The workshop added even more content to an already content rich game.
Heads up that the workshop implementation is shoddy at best. Runic got really lazy with mods, and instead of stabilizing the system, simply enforced an arbitrary mod limit. You can install ten mods at a time. No more, no less. The only way to install more is to compile mods into packs, which is a bit difficult for a lot common players...

Really disappointed with Runic on that one. They show no intentions to change it either, and have basically confirmed that the limit is there because they're too lazy to do things properly.

WOAH! Anyone ever play the original on NES? I loved this game.

Those transport tubes were something else.
Incredible game. If you haven't tried it, the sequel that came to the PSX is phenomenal if not a bit short.

On the topic of Steam cards, have people been receiving booster packs? It seemed like everyone got them when they first started dropping, but it seems pretty slow these days.

anyone know if the heretic / hexen pack will go lower than $6?
I have it on good authority... that no one knows.

Nice, I used to have an NES copy, though I ended up trading it to a friend for something else (who knows what). Awesome game, I hope they update it a good bit, though.

Foils aren't worth crap anymore unless it's from a $20+ title (after discount/not before) -- most cheap and popular game foils will net you $1.50 at best.  Many are under a buck.

Mooby speaks the truth. I sold 2 foils yesterday. Cleared $1.30 on one and $0.98 one the other (after Steam fees)

Nuuvem has some solid deals right now. Notably: NBA2K13 for $5 (USD)

They've got XCOM and Civ V Gold for $8 a piece coming soon too. Beats Steam's prices!

I've made $30ish selling the foil drops I've gotten and buying and selling cheap foils I've found on the market. Perhaps if you spent less time complaining about everything night and day, you'd have a bit more success.

Given the titles listed, it seems to be an EA thing. At the same time, there were some games that were 85% off. (notably, Dues Ex:HR)

Whoa, thanks for this. NBA 2k13 is hard to pass up at $5. I've never purchased from Nuuvem before but this may just put me over the edge! I definitely appreciate you keeping us updated about Nuuvem deals since I don't see any regularly updated thread with their sales.

Just looking over my wishlist and I see I have Overlord on there which is currently $1.24.  The bundle that includes Overlord II and Overlord: Raising Hell is $4.99.  Are the bundle extras worth the additional cost or is the first Overlord good enough?

Yeah, it probably needs its own thread these days. They're getting better with a lot of their sales, but they're really hit and miss.

EDIT: Just bought and activated NBA2K13 no problem. $4.60, damn good price.

Sadly, that Deus Ex discount was an abandon ship kind of thing. They're gonna be releasing the Director's Cut version of the game soon, which will have some dramatic changes and updates, and odds are they'll want full price for that ($20 MSRP, I'd guess), so they're selling off the old version cheaply to cash in before the new version drops.

It is just EA games that have done that crap. I know and remember all to well, I'm the OP in all those threads lol

I didn't have much luck with Nuuvem in the past and I'm still getting the same error now. When I try to check out with Paypal, it asks me to continue my purchase in the secure window... but that never shows up. I keep hitting "GO" but it never brings me to the Paypal window. Has anyone else had this experience with Nuuvem? And if so, how do I fix it?

Try a different browser, or turn off any scriptblockers you're using. Nuuvem doesn't send you to another PayPal page, it opens one within the current page.

I'm using Chrome and I have no problem with it.
