Hope my mobile app works tomorrow for purchasing. Had my ACL reconstruction surgery yesterday and can't even get out of bed, let alone make it upstairs to my pc.

Why is it that when it takes a herculean effort just to get out of bed I have to pee every 30 minutes?
Do double whatever the rehab specialist tells you to do. You'll be happy you did.

These games now have Trading Cards, Emoticons, Profile Backgrounds, and Badges to collect:

  • Dungeons of Dredmor
  • DARK
  • The Night of the Rabbit
  • McPixel
  • Drunken Robot Pornography
  • Ion Assault

Nice, I already have 2 of the new card drop games

EDIT: 3 apparently. When the hell did I get Ion Assault?

I wonder if you get a card for finishing DARK.

Hell, how many people actually WILL finish that game? ;)

Reviews been disappointing for that one...

Can't see my Steam inventory. Delightful.
Same problem here.

Of course, I still haven't had a drop yet, so it doesn't matter as much to me. Hopefully they get it straitened out by the time my first Dredmor card drops.

EDIT: Nevermind. Got my first card and the inventory is working again.

... that isn't entirely correct.

They can still trade the cards to other accounts and sell them there. I traded my TF2 cards from my idle accounts to my main account without issue, despite not being able to use my 17 cents to buy anything in the market.
Well, that would mean that you bought TF2 items on your other accounts and have premium to get those cards in the first place. So you do have to make a purchase, meaning anything on the Steam store, and that bars those who only redeemed the HiB4 key and coal farmed. I have a few accounts, and I can't do anything with my extra cardz yet.

Blech, getting 7 drops from McPixel is going to be painful. I may have to break my rule and just let it idle. 100% on chapter 1, no fun and no cardzzzz yet

Yeah, my inventory is gone for now too. Trying to distribute this hardcore robot porn ASAP before the NSA catches on.
Wow, whole Steam tab missing from inventory view, DOTA, TF and Portal tabs present. Blech!
Use your third eye.

lol, 45 minutes after Dungeons of Dredmor got cards, the cards are already down around 30 cents. They're gonna be under 20 cents within an hour.

Seriously, I'm not gonna bother rushing to get my cards on the market anymore. They never sell before the other bastards out there undercut my price. I'm just gonna wait until it bottoms out and put them up on the market for whatever the asking price is. No use killing myself trying to get 70 cents for a card when nobody buys the cards right away anymore.

Same, I rushed with the last set and paid for it, gonna wait a couple days this time

So you can't trade items if all you have in your accounts are games that came from keys? I did not know that. Dang.

I love Dredmor so I'm buying the missing cards, but damn, McPixel's going to be a PAIN.

Eh, sold one Dredmor card for 25 cents profit. Drops are slow as molasses.

I'm afraid to look at how much McPixel cards are going for.

And now you're looking for a deal on Surgeon Simulator 2013 to put your dumbass back together again? :D
Why are people so anti-Alice: MR? It's a solid game that suffers from some bugs and drags on for too long. It's still easily worth $5, if not only for the art style and American McGee's craziness.

Yeah, I gave up on selling cards quick once it went public.  All you do is waste time listing and re listing and listing and relisting hoping you sucker someone into paying .50 cents instead of 30 cents or whatever.  The time wasted isn't worth whatever cents you might gain IMO.  My rush to mine cards is just the excitement of getting a foil, that while not worth as much as before, are still a nice find.

When looking at the pricing charts on the Steam Marketplace .. does the price history show based off listings or off actual items sold ? I just crafted my Real Big Sky Badge from the booster pack I got and received a Rare Background that is showing an average price of around $4.xx.

If it's actually selling at that price it would be a nice little bonus.

Last edited by a moderator:
If you hover your cursor over the graph it will show you where the item actually sold and at what price and then I always visit the page to see what the listings are at because many times it is lower or higher than the last sold price.

Dredmor is an awesome addition. I need an excuse to go back to that after I died on floor 14 of a Going Rogue run with Permadeath. Literally fell out of my chair...hurts just thinking about it. Maybe Ill just let it idle afterall....

Perfect. Thanks for the help. Seems one sold yesterday for $4.11 and a couple the day before in the high $3.xx range. I will probably stick it on the Market then as I don't really care for the background anyway.

i have never had a problem selling cards even after it went public. I just undercut the lowest price by up to 10c and it usually sells flawless.
We all hate you for driving prices so far down. 20 cents pays for nothing. Please go away.

It only gets darker from there on, and to be quite honest I felt pretty sick near the end. It is a seriously twisted story, and that asylum bit...if I ever have to play through it again it will be to soon. The first level is also the best in terms of solid gameplay, so I'm not sure how good a judge of overall quality it is.
Good to know. The first level, the asylum stuff, really bothered me. I played maybe a couple hours of the game and uninstalled it, feeling kind of ill. Tim Burton-ish I can do, but not this stuff.

Re: Dota 2. There's a tutorial now that progresses you through a few 'missions' and later bot matches. Just don't jump right into live games of players vs. players. Play some offline/bot matches then when you're comfortable progress to player vs. bot, etc.
Good to know. I've been meaning to get into my copy of the game.

By the way, my personal policy of "liking" a post is when a post is something that I find helpful, or something that I agree with, or that I find humorous. Another sure-fire way to get a like out of me is if somebody has done something for another CAG, or displayed some form of generosity.

I bring this up because i occasionally remember some post from days past that fits into one of these categories. Case in point, Draekon's great steam gift giveaway a year and a half ago. I just tracked down that thread and gave him a few likes. Anybody who remembers that, and got something from him might wanna think about doing the same.

Great idea. I actually won the GTA Complete Pack from that, IIRC.

I wonder if you get a card for finishing DARK.

Hell, how many people actually WILL finish that game? ;)

Reviews been disappointing for that one...
Yeah, I've been reading the reviews for Dark the past day. Pretty disappointing. Game Informer gave it a 2.0, if I'm not mistaken. Says the A.I. is ridiculously bad.

I love the title of the Game Informer review. Dark: A Vampire Who Sucks at Everything.

http://www.gameinformer.com/games/dark/b/xbox360/archive/2013/07/09/a-vampire-who-sucks-at-everything.aspx

"When Bane flees from conflict, the enemies stay on alert for approximately 90 seconds. That’s a long time to cower behind one object, hoping the security team doesn’t investigate your area. In my first few hours of play, I found safe locations to hide in until the alerts ended. Some of these locations are rooms that the enemy cannot enter. They aren’t vampire safe havens, or areas the enemy shouldn’t be able to reach, but rather zones the enemy isn’t programmed to interact with. Their pathing ends at the doorway. So there they stand, peering in, almost looking as adorable as a dog sitting at the window as its owner drives away.

I got a big kick out of these moments. When the alert ends, all of the enemies who are standing by the door turn around and walk back to their designated paths. Bane can quietly sneak out of the room and pick them off one by one as they head back to their areas."

Could be worth playing for the humor of it all.
