Tempted to buy Farming Simulator 2013 (don't laugh), the Ys games and Hotline Miami.  Should I pick them up now or wait to see if they go lower?

It's usually recommended to wait until a game is a daily deal, and that is usually its lowest price during the sale. So, Hotline Miami will likely not go lower during this sale.

 
So how exactly do you earn those steam summer cards? I just recently found out about acutioning off these cards and crafting badges even though I was in the beta =P

Every $10 spent or every 3 votes on the community choice, so long as you're at least level 5.

I have been hitting Steam season sales the past few years and I don't recall the site being up and down this much because other than maybe during the first 10 mins of a sale starting for the day. Has anyone else seen the site like this before? I thought it would have stabilized by now

Pretty pissed right now. The Bioshock Infinite Season Pass was on sale for $10 but since the steam servers aren't working, I couldn't buy it. Now it's back up to $20 which means it must have been a mistake.

It's worth repeating here for anyone new... Steam often screws up as they change sales. Don't Starve, for instance, has doubled in discount (to 44% off) since 20% was originally listed. So if a discount seems light... wait 30 minutes and check back.

On the flip side of that, some insane screw ups have been listed at flip-time and people have scored games for 90% off.

Keep that in mind.

 
Shoot. Hahahaha. Well I crafted the badge and intend to go for a level 5.

I'm probably going to buy Ys 1+2... and that's it. When it goes on sale.

 
I'm not familiar at all with Steam. Is there a full list of games that will go on sale eventually like Microsoft did with the ultimate game sale? My PC isn't that great so all I want is to finally play FFVII. Any chance that goes on sale?
 
Whoever pointed out Puzzle Quest 2 for $2.50 -- thanks for the tip.  That game is _never_ on sale.  I finished PQ1 a couple years ago and have been waiting for PQ2 to go on sale ever since.

I'm stuck on mobile. Cant seem to find the market on the steam app.

So the special event valve is hosting this year is a worthless SS badge? Makes me miss the coal days.

What sucks is I'll end up crafting a stupid SS badge.

What also sucks is that I've crafted a few badges already and received worthless coupons. Would've rather received mystery cards.

Oh yeah, this sale sucks.

It's working for me, but it doesn't always highlight the games I already own in green. In fact, the price tracker said $7.49 is the historical low for Scribblenauts, which pushed me into buying it with cardz money.
 
You know, I'm not even going to complain about the sale, I'm going to complain about the company.  Valve and Steam is too damn big to be having these issues with server load and pages not loading, market not loading, etc.  They should have their stuff together and just invest in servers that can handle the load they KNOW is coming every year around this time.  Gamersgate loaded better during the Bethesda glitch than this crap.
