I'm calling it now, next flash deal: 50% off TF2 hats!

If this pans out I'm giving everyone a cookie just to keep our spirits (feel free to bring those) up...
Didn't they have a hat sale last winter? Think it was a flash sale, but it might have been a daily. I'm more surprised there hasn't been some major Dota themed sale.

For RAGE,

The PC patch made the textures crisper and takes a significant performance hit because of it.  But the textures are still low resolution, they never replaced the textures themselves.

If you have a console that is the superior version.

I seem to remember a website that is like a wikipedia for Steam games/PC games in general that gives fixes for known bugs, popular mods to improve the game, etc. Anybody have a link or know what site that is?

I remember using it last year for the fixes to Dark Soul

Well since I didn't really get into building badges with my steam cards I have accumulated roughly around $15 by selling them. Pennies add up and with that I picked up a few extra games.

I have a request.  Can someone recommend a good side-scroller co-op game.  Looking to play remotely with a friend and she digs the 2D side scrollers.  Any suggestions that have come up in the sale or I'd likely see on sale again?

softcore gamer porn? wait, what!??? I missed that one, care to do an encore? :)
Anybody play Faxanadu before? Loved that game.

Truly a classic.

The D&D Mystara game that recently came out might be a good choice.

oh wait. there is flash deals they are just sucky repeats. awesome.
These past couple says there has been a lot of overlap between flash deals and daily deals. I wish Steam would differentiate the two, daily deals are for the big or newer games, flash deals are for the older catalog games that have been somewhat forgotten. There are a lot of older games in my wishlist that are at 25%-40% off but probably won't get included in a highlighted deal. These could see a big bump if they were pushed to the 75% mark in a flash sale.

Does Castle Crashers count?
I think it does. I don't own it yet and everyone was scooping it up during the flash sale.

Looking this one up right now.

I have that one already and had forgotten about it. I'll check out the sale price and the DLC price if I am going to do it.

Those are a good place to start, thanks everyone!

I played thru Castle Crashers and Trine 2 with my girl and she loved them both, they were both also discounted very cheap recently and you can still probably find cheap copies in this thread:

Do the Batman AA & AC games have a limited number of downloads?
Yes, they do. It's not GFWL that causes it, it's SecuROM. SecuROM means you have a limited number of installations unless you download and run the removal tool for your game off the SecuROM website.

So it's up to you to make an evaluative choice about whether it's worth the hassle down the line. Will you install these games on 4 different machines without using the removal tool? Will SecuROM be patched out of these games eventually?

They're great games and they're cheap. I thought it was worth the risk when I bought them (consequently, AA has remained installed on my hd for years, and AC won't be installed until I'm ready to commit to a full playthrough), but the call is up to you.

Can't post links but probably pcgamingwiki dot com

I don't know if anyone already said this, but I just noticed that Dead Island has cards now.
Nice! Talk about a ninja add...

Edit: Well, not exactly ninja if you're in the Trading Cards group, but I totally missed the notification about an update.

Can't post links but probably pcgamingwiki.com
New bookmark; added link. Thanks for that, and thanks awestover89 for bringing it up! I may reinstall Dark Souls to see if I can get a little better performance to file it under "playable".

Been having trouble setting up trades in the trading card thread, and I'm 2 cards away from my summer badge level 2. Anyone want to trade my Skyrim and/or Prison Architect summer cards for your Kerbal and/or Torchlight 2?

Nevermind, I traded for one and bought the other. Allowed me to reach level 20, got the 2nd profile showcase and now I'm retiring from crafting badges. Feel free to friend me on Steam anyway!

Maybe the many people who were missing it voted for it?

That game is a STEAL at 85% off.

I already own Bastion: Soundtrack Ed from Gamersgate, though.
50% of people are below average... kinda scary innit?

What is the cheapest Strike Suit Zero + Infinity had been anywhere?
I think this is the cheapest.. iirc SSZ complete was $10 on GG a month or so back.

Do the Batman AA & AC games have a limited number of downloads?
AC GOTY 5 activations... I think AA has something similar... that said they are both fantastic and very good value at $5 & $7.50.

Awesome, my Shadowrun Returns Steam Key finally arrived. Woohoo.

I know what I'll be doing after this sale ends next week.
^_^ Mine yesterday.

I'm calling it now, next flash deal: 50% off TF2 hats!

If this pans out I'm giving everyone a cookie just to keep our spirits (feel free to bring those) up...
That would wreck the hat market... maybe25% off one hat.

Cookie talk? Last night's softcore gamer porn session was so much better...
I think it's family night... so that means arguments, recriminations, dodging flying objects...

AC GOTY 5 activations... I think AA has something similar... that said they are both fantastic and very good value at $5 & $7.50.
According to Big DRM List:

AA: Non-GotY Edition: 4 activations per month. A revoke tool is available in your Steam Tools section.

GotY Edition: 4 machine limit. Revoke using /revoke parameter.

It says Asylum is also a GFWL legacy title, which comes with it's own limited activations of between 10-20.

AC: 5 machine limit, 10 activations per machine

I've been told that Arkham City has limited revokes, 4 or 5. I'm not sure if that's still accurate tho. Limited revokes really sucks.

So what's the deal with Prison Architect?  I see a lot of hype.  Has anyone played it?  Just seems like another Prison Tycoon type of game, but I'm probably missing something.

For anyone with Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes, the $4.99 Map Pack (that is not on sale for LH) is the same content as the $1.24 Map Pack for the original Fallen Enchantress (that is on sale for 75% off).  Buying the version on sale got me the DLC for both games.

I think PCGamer recently withdrew a little bit of their hype for it. Don't recall the exact issues they felt needed work at the moment though. I think it's pretty much what you said though. Build a prison and manage resources, prisoners, and whatnot.

Brace yourselves....here's the real deal:

It's a strategy game in development by Introversion Software. They've created four very cool games in the past (Darwinia / Multiwinia / Defcon / Uplink), and have enough fans to go "Hell yeah I'll help them with their new game."

That's about it.

Where's the fun in that?! That seems like a roller coaster tycoon game, just not with the roller coaster of death! There's bound to be something fun to do with that. Never understood pure maintainance games, where's the fun?

The thing that may be a problem is that the game has been in development for at least 2 years and is still in alpha. It definitely has my interest, but I think it's priced a bit steep. If it was $20 and got a 40-50% discount I may give it a shot, but at $30 I'll pass.

But it's got CAARDZ! ^_~

I think the primary appeal of Prison Architect is the emergent gameplay. What seem like simple interactions can have unpredictable, and fascinating, consequences. There's a certain hypnotism to it.

Wow, they say your booster pack drop rate goes up with every 10 Steam levels. I've received one booster pack since they were introduced... until tonight just 10 minutes after reaching level 20, Faerie Solitaire booster pack popped into my inventory!

From the FAQ

  • Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
Trying to level for boosters just doesn't seem worth it.

^ That's how I feel, too; 1% doubled is still only 2%. Steam levels are so useless right now, and they'll probably stay that way.

It's a nice bonus. Collecting/trading/crafting/selling/buying, it's been a fun experience over the last week and I've only spent money that I earned through selling cards to begin with. It's like it's own little game. I have no regrets, but I'm going to stop now before I devote too much Steam bucks to this.
