I have no regrets, but I'm going to stop now before I devote too much Steam bucks to this.

Hah, would be hilarious if CK2 won.  Risen 2 will probably get it's share of votes.  Conquistador is too niche to win against those two.  If it doesn't get at least a flash sale, though, I will find GabeN and do bad things to him.

That was my vote. Risen 2 already got it's deal on some site last week, and Crusader Kings II is quite often on sale.
Risen 2 did, but Risen 1 wasn't a Steam version, so I didn't buy it (would rather get Risen 1 first before buying Risen 2). Risen 1 would probably be 75% off if it wins, so I can just buy the whole collection using steam wallet.

I'd certainly grab Risen 2 at $5.  Having played the demo, read some feedback, and watched some videos, though, Risen 1 strikes me as the superior game (played that twice, have yet to buy/play Risen 2).  They messed up the combat of all things~

According to Big DRM List:

AA: Non-GotY Edition: 4 activations per month. A revoke tool is available in your Steam Tools section.

GotY Edition: 4 machine limit. Revoke using /revoke parameter.

It says Asylum is also a GFWL legacy title, which comes with it's own limited activations of between 10-20.

AC: 5 machine limit, 10 activations per machine

I've been told that Arkham City has limited revokes, 4 or 5. I'm not sure if that's still accurate tho. Limited revokes really sucks.

I wasn't even aware that limited revokes existed. I don't know if I'll ever run into this problem, but it is a pretty shitty policy.

In Risen 2, combat takes some getting used to b/c of the unlocked cam and combat.

The chance makes it EASIER to turn and swing from enemy to enemy, actually - as long as you ain't holding the lock-on key (right-mouse button); since you have more enemies more often on you, in this game.

Holding the right-mouse button in Risen 2, it makes it feel like Risen 1 - i.e. it keeps the player locked when swinging and moving (i.e. you can strafe).

Actually my criticisms aren't related to the camera and locking. It just 'feels' significantly worse than combat in Risen 1 (and the first two Gothics). For melee it's more of a click-click-click then a give and take with blocks and parries.

I think the multiplayer servers are dead (as in, no longer up) anyway, so all you can do is play via LAN or against bots..
Thats true for xbox, but I was under the impression PC version was still going good. I should just install the game and check, just stupid because I've been hanging onto this coupon to use during a sale to get 4 copies to giveaway...

Voted for Risen 2. Is it any good? I have this bad habit of buying any decent RPG if it's cheap enough, lol.

Doesn't matter though. CK II has cards so it is going to win regardless. I don't even think the vote is rigged, it's just el hoardo who probably has 18 steam accounts votes for the games with cards so he could flood the market.

From the FAQ

  • Level 10: +20% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 20: +40% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 30: +60% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 40: +80% increase in your drop rate
  • Level 50: +100% increase in your drop rate (i.e. the rate has doubled)
Trying to level for boosters just doesn't seem worth it.
I think that's all hogwash anyway. I've received a booster every week since they started them and I'm only lvl 12. Every Thursday, at that. Doesn't seem very random, but maybe I'm just lucky.

I also didn't even login to the Steam client this week, so logging in via the website/mobile is enough.

Whatever game is most popular usually wins (in this case, I think CK2 is most popular). If cards is all it takes to win.. that would be pretty dumb, since all of the the community vote winners have had card support added so far. I would bet both Expeditions: Conquistador and Risen 2 have cards ready.

i got one booster am at level 20 so it is random just your getting lucky with the coin flip

Apparently you can't buy Expeditions: Conquistador in certain regions so it probably won't win the community vote. Sucks that CK II will probably win.. we don't need another sale on that. I wish games that have already had flash sales/dailies wouldn't be allowed as vote choices.

I just saw Wanderlust: Rebirth is on sale for 75% off. Anyone have any experience with the game? Any good or should I pass.
Advice? Pass on it.

It might look fun but it's incredibly shallow and repetitive, there's about 5-10 minutes of enjoyment to be had and that's it. Save your pennies.

I already saw the voting results...

CK2 - 58%

Risen 2 - 28%

Other game Expeditions: Conquistador - 14%
Sadly you're probably correct. I'm voting for Conquistador in defiance.

Pfft, everyone has the those controllers, now the Super Action Controllers are where its at!
Haha I have a set of those, the roller ball, the turbo wheel, and the ADAM computer! Coleco was the king of peripherals.

You're lucky. I've received a single booster since they begin giving them out.

Anyone have any opinion on either of these bundles?

MumboJumbo Collection

PopCap Complete Pack

My wife was pretty addicted to the 7 Wonders games on my iPad so I wouldn't mind having it on PC, and we played some of the Midnight Mystery games as well.  For PopCap bundle, I already have Bejeweled 3 and PvZ, but I wouldn't mind getting Zuma, Bookworm Adventures and Peggle.  This is probably too high of a price for all that though.

Maybe I'm asking the wrong demographic here, but just figured I'd like to ask for opinions :)  I'm hoping that the bundles will be 75% off sometime during the sale.  Thanks!

Maybe, but there are also gamers of every demographic here. I don't own any of those packs, but I have played and enjoyed a number of the games. I'd suggest asking yourself two questions:

1) Will you actually sit down to play casual games like these on your PC, or are they something that's really only appealing on a portable device?

2) Will you really play all those different versions of Luxor and Bejeweled, or is the majority of the pack going to end up as game-list-cruft?

Both those packs are great deals for what you get, but if you're not going to actually play them then you're straying into hoarding territory.

Those two packs have plenty of great games.

If you've played Bejeweled 3 and PvZ then you've played two of the best games in the pack. $50 for the rest would be a bit high for me.

If you have only played 7 Wonders from Mumbo Jumbo's pack, then there are still tons of great games in there and it's nearly half the price. My only criticism of the pack is that there are far too many Luxor and seek-and-find games. Granted, Luxor: Mahjong is Luxor in name mostly (and is a darn nice Mahjong game) and Luxor Evolved has a unique style from the rest. Pickers is a really cool seek-and-find game with a selling metagame. Everyday Genius: Square Logic is an awesome numerical puzzle game and the pack is the only way you can still get it on Steam. Glowfish is a pretty slick little casual action/adventure game.

For the price, I'd go Mumbo Jumbo, but you should definitely look through all the games to see which appeal to you and the wife.

My wife likes the Bookworm Adventures games and Bejeweled 3. Woodlands has a good point, though. Many of these games are essentially variations on a theme, so it'd probably be cheaper for you to just pick up 2-3 that interest you a la carte rather than laying out $50 for a pack of stuff, much of which may sit in your inventory unplayed (IMO, $50 is too high for this pack in any case, and I'm not familiar with the price history and whether it's had better sales before).

I will probably pick up Risen 2 at $5... I wanted it a while back and I am sure it will sit in my backlog but I haven't bought anything over $2 yet hahah

I liked Peggle also and as others have mentioned, a lot of those games are pretty similar. Cheaper to just wait for a better sale or pick up just a few and be ok with that. Since these are for the wife, maybe pick a few for the computer so while she can play one, you can be off playing a strategy game by yourself :) (oops, that's sorta what I like to play)...

I voted for Expeditions too.

Just wanted to chime in that you can get these for cheaper through JakeNome, so that is the way to go if you want them (for the record I've enjoyed every Popcap game I've come across, and the MumboJumbo pack is just a ton of content so it's hard to go wrong if you/your wife likes the type of games in it).
