Fallout Collection (Fallout 1 + 2 + Tactics) is 85% off at $2.99.

Not sure if that's a glitch or intentional...
Wowsers - that's a GREAT deal.

Both Fallout 1 & 2 are great

SIDE NOTE - I already have FO1 + Tactics from GOG; FO2 from Retail.

What is everyone's list of last minute purchases? trying to make sure I don't forget about anything
I'm going to wait until there's definitely no more flash deals. Then I'll probably pick up the Carpe Fulgur Collection, although seeing the potential for -80% on the community vote is making me hesitate.

The Dead Mountaineer's Hotel has been in my wishlist for a while. I might toss it in if I purchase something else, but I have a pretty big backlog of Adventure games at this point.

I'd actually like Dragon's Lair, but 75% off or bust on that one. Same thing with Another World.

On the other hand, I would have purchased the following, had they ever seen a deep discount.

Lego Star Wars Saga

Lego Star Wars III: The Clone Wars

Emerald City Confidential

Toejam and Earl

King's Quest Collection

Earthworm Jim

Archon Classic

Your loss, Steam.

Have you tried this game yet? I had my eye on it after a GB quick look. Worth the two bucks?
the only problem i have with SHODN is that its plug and play for a 360 controller, but my d-pad won't control things for some reason, only the analog stick. i'm guessing that's easily fixed with a visit to the menu or a controller mapper.

i was going to wait for it to be in an indie bundle but just think of it as an old arcade game: for $2.50 you're just paying 10 quarters, you'll definitely get that value if you play it 10 times. i considered it worth it over just waiting months for it to show up in a bundle then giving the developers pennies, its solid if you like old school SNES style action games. i'd definitely recommend it

Ended up buying Rogue Legacy. I bought it off the Humble Store. $12 for Steam + DRM Free key plus more money to the devs is something I can support. Besides that $1.80 I was saving really isn't the end of the world.

Rogue Legacy is also the most expensive purchase this sale.

Hey! When did King's Quest get added to Steam? I was assuming I would be buying that through GOG.

Dragon's Lair.... won? Seriously, you can go watch it all on a Youtube channel and act like you're hitting the button. It's the same experience. Plus, it's super old and has been on every device INCLUDING just a straight DVD for your DVD player.

Steam community...

Heavy-SON-I-AM-DISSAPOINT.jpg

Let's not forget the laserdisk version before that. That's when I discovered it.

:fuck: all these repeats. At the very least, Steam half-assed the second half of the sale this year. What gives?

This is the post in which I will complain about the Community Choice vote results. It's been a pretty consistently disappointing feature of the Steam Sale so far.

I hated Dragon's Lair when it was in the arcade and my opinion remains the same 30 years later. Don Bluth should have stuck to cartoons.
Yes, I'm shocked that Dragon's Lair won... such a crappy steam community... if the votes aren't rigged... at this rate, perhaps Alan Wake will win this next one simply because of the cards, despite it having recently been on humble bundle, and even on steam itself (at like $2.50?) just a week before this sales..

GOG beats steam (in price) again! (on KQ Kollection)

Hey! When did King's Quest get added to Steam? I was assuming I would be buying that through GOG.
Just fyi ADG Interactive did nice (and free) remakes of KQ1-3. KQ1 was hard to stomach by the late 80s.

Thanks! I'm gonna have to go through those links, to see if I missed anything...

EDIT:

Ooooh @ Ridge Racer Unbounded stuff at 75% off.

RRU Collection (RRU base game + ALL DLC) = $6.24

RRU (base game) = $5

DLC's each at 75% a piece.

That's worth it, if people missed out on that fun racer.

I had fun w/ RRU Complete, back when I played it.

EDIT 2:

I know it's only 66% off and all - but there's so much bang for the buck in the Divinity Collection for $10.19.

Divine Divinity and Divinity 2 DKS/Developer's Cut are both great.

Finally got my 360 controller to work with Sonic Racing Transformed. Seemed that deleting the control xml in my documents along with restarting a ridiculous amount of times did the trick. Whoever mentioned deleting the xml, thank you.

Really surprised at how fun the game is. We should try to get a CAG night for it going as I think that'd be a blast.

I was thinking of breaking on Borderlands 2 with the repeat sale, but the season pass sits at 33% off only. They have one item in the DLC list (Mr. Tongue's Campaign) sitting at 33% off throwing the bundle price askew. Every other DLC is at 66% off, so I'm hoping they correct that.
Is the 15% off amazon code still working? 33 goes to 48% off

What is everyone's list of last minute purchases? trying to make sure I don't forget about anything
My List of (possible) Last Minute Purchases:

- Under the Ocean ($2.49, 75%)

- Super House of Dead Ninjas ($2.37, 66%)

- Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack ($1.99, 75%)

- Rock of Ages ($1.99, 80%)

- Starseed Pilgrim ($2.69, 55%)

- Fly'n ($2.49, 50%)

- Bionic Commando ($2.49, 75%)

- Bionic Commando: Rearmed ($2.49, 75%)

I could pick up ~four of these and escape unharmed with the remaining SW left. Still debating though.

Yeah, that's a steal for those.

When it comes to turn-based party-based RPG's - FO1 & 2 are definitely classics.
Yeah I didnt expect these to go on sale until interplay lost the rights to sell them.

" Interplay's rights to sell and merchandise Fallout, Fallout 2 and Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel will expire on December 31, 2013."

Ah, yes definitely worth re-mentioning. If you liked Burnout or Split/Second, I'd recommend RRU.

Look, even if the game is just $0.80 you don't need it. You're not going to get around to playing through all of it, and controlling it on the keyboard will probably just frustrate you. Spending $25-$40 on a controller invalidates the deal!

Just because the game has an over 50% discount does not mean you should buy it. Stop looking!

There's no reason not to have a 360-compatible controller for PC, if you play games that are controller-biased (platformers, racing games, etc).

I only did the SP portion for RRU - and I had a blast w/ it.

Did you try the MP portion?

What about the Level Editor?
I blame my sizable high quality backlog for that... as soon as I finish one game, it's off to another...

And TM2 Canyon has all the integrated MP stuff I need atm.

I saw you mention you play mostly on PS3.

Dualshock 3 + BetterDS3 = Ashes's preferred PC controller ^_^

Yeah, well I physically like it (small hands, LS where it belongs <holy war>)... wireless, and does XInput + DirectInput for pre&post 360 gaming needs.... and I can remap anything I want easily in BetterDS3!

Was going to buy Fallout 2 by itself, but then I noticed 85 percent off the whole bundle. Stopped that immediately.

Price glitch anyone?
You're late. Please stay afterward for detention.

I agree w/ this.

If you're buying games on PC from companies that have a tendency to be more controller-friendly b/c of the type of game they're developing or b/c the dev's make a very basic port, always good to have a PC gamepad - especially X360 pad, since it's standard here.

I couldn't picture playing a racer; fighting games like Street Fighter or MK series; Tony Hawk games; sports games (think like NBA2K13); games w/ lots of platforming (Assassins Creed series, Prince of Persia series) - or any games of that sort w/ a KB/mouse.

Gamepad all the way for me on those.

I ain't tried TM2 yet.

Though, for MP racing - I really dug the hell out of awesome and highly under-appreciated TDU2.

I suggest grabbing both of the Bionic Commandos. It's capcom, who knows when they'll be this cheap again..

I've played through Mutant Blobs Attack and enjoyed it on Vita, definitely worth the $2. I'd also suggest grabbing Fly'n, pretty high quality indie game.. although those 2 games might get bundled eventually.

QTF

solid game play and wicked humor. get over the graphics and enjoy
Amen.

One thing I loved about FO:NV Ultimate - was it brought over that awesome humor from the original FO1+2.

Of course, I loved that FO:NV also brought over that awesome (modernized) gameplay over that made FO3 feel so damn fresh.

Wow, inventory clean up from winter sale.

Anyone remember the key differences between the Amazon DOW franchise pack (Saturday only offering) and the Steam DOW franchise pack?

The deals aren't the only things that repeat. It's new flash deals time, so the servers have gotten all messed up again too!

I'm considering:
Cart-Life

Half-Minute Hero

Starseed Pilgrim

Trying to find really fun games that are $5 or below, you know anything that carries a a lot of value. Reason being is I'm trying to pick up a few games for my nephew. His birthday is next month.

Right now I've got this in my cart for him. I figure these games he would really like:

Supreme Commander 2 (Big strategy game fan)

Tomb Raider (He likes to make or play as female leads)

Civ V Gold Edition (He loves Revolution)

X3: Terran Conflict

Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition (Liked Fallout 3, so this is a no-brainer)

Again, if you guys see or recommend something below/around $5 please tell me and say why. Thanks in advanced, this thread is moving quite fast.

FO:NV Ultimate is a no-brainer at that price. Got over 100 hours w/ that game.

X3:TC is quite good, if you like hardcore space-sims.

TR 2013, got 3 hours or so into it - it's pretty good, so far. The beginning does slam you w/ a lot of QTE's, though. Combat's a hell of a lot better compared to older TR games, to say the least. Game's downright technically & artistically beautiful to look at. I need to give it more time, though - probably this week, since I'm on vacation this week.

Hotline miami is awesome, old style beat'em up shooter. Trailer would do more justice than these words. It's $5 currently.
