Free Stuff - Needs Updating

There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

I really hope you just crafted an assload of badges, because its a damn shame if you didn't use any of these during the sale!

My prediction for the next Humble Bundle: Retro City Rampage, FTL, Giana Sisters, They Bleed Pixels, Defy Gravity Extended, Evoland, and Don't Starve as the beat the average.
You're certainly optimistic. I'm guessing Crayon Physics Deluxe and NightSky.

Got .19 profit on one Bit Trip card, hoping to make around .55 for all 3.

Imagine how someone who owns EVERY game on Steam feels, once they see a list of games get cards...

We NEED an auto-idler with obtrusive ads. Who wants to get rich quick or something? Shaqles?

My prediction for the next Humble Bundle: Retro City Rampage, FTL, Giana Sisters, They Bleed Pixels, Defy Gravity Extended, Evoland, and Don't Starve as the beat the average.

That would have to be the next numbered and that's due... didn't we just get one a-month-or-two ago?

Shame.

Shame.

True. True.

I really don't want to with these cards at all. I'd pay a stripper to sell them on my behalf but they don't like blue-collar work.

I'll get her done

Oh my god, Magical Diary has even got cards and that's beyond obscure wow. and the cards go from 50 cents to 2$ each who knew this game would pay off.

Yay, I finally got another foil, for Dark Fall. Just thought I'd share.

Gonna throw it up for some big greenbacks and see who undercuts me.  Got to set the market price somehow.

The meat and potatoes financial rundown:

I spent $170.43 on 33 games, 11+ DLCs, plus a few group buys & gifts from Steam.

After buying & selling cards/foils My Steam Wallet covered $106.06 of the damage.

So the total out-of-pocket expense in the end was $64.37.

God bless Steam Cards and those who were willing to give me their money. :)

Now that Mount & Blade has cards (probably Fire & Sword soon also), i'm kicking myself for trying to save a few cents by skipping the Mount & Blade collection and only gettting Warband/Napoleonic Wars during the sale.

Already dumped 37 hours into Warband.  That game scratches many of my itches.

Imagine how someone who owns EVERY game on Steam feels, once they see a list of games get cards...
Ecstatic?

Yea.. I got a 50% off Forge... specifically states " Cannot be combined with any other discounts ". Thus, useless during the sale.
I had one during the sale and it did indeed stack. I nearly pulled the trigger but just didn't think I'd play it. Mine may be different, I suppose...

Ive been without internet since Friday night- moved. Using a mobile has been burdensome. Should be back up soon.

In for a Magical Diary and SotMC badge when I'm back up and idling.

didn't steam do something like what you guys are talking about with the winter sale a few years ago? you had to do x amount of bullshit in the actual game to get coal? i hated that so much. now i forever have spiral knights garbage in my inventory.

Jaws: Unleashed

Skrim

Took a shot at it and got the last one (Dungeons). Thank you!

Neat seeing Noitu Love Devolution have cards. Great little action arcade-like game (albeit short) and the addition of cards had me playing it through again. More to add to my favorite game badge crafting.

I shall have to wait to see how I end up. Shall I idle or actually try to play all of the games?
I'm using them as backlog suggestion devices.

Me: Well, me, what should I play today?

Me: Hey, McPixel has cards, let's try that!

Me: Okay, brilliant idea me! Have I lost weight?

Me: Why yes I have, thanks for noticing. Hey, what the hell, click something and go to the next level? This is a game?

Me: Yes, apparently it is.

Me: Okay, i'm just clicking on things and winning now

Me: Well, let's see what happens, maybe this gets bett...did I just piss on an alien?

Me: Yes, I did.

Me: Maybe I should go back to idling games instead of playing them.

Me: Best idea ever.
It's an inexact science though...

No card money for me, so it was all out of pocket (well, a $50 Steam wallet card). Spent $45.41 and picked up:

Sonic CD
DLC Quest
Sonic Generations - Casino Nights DLC
Strike Suit Infinity
Tomb Raider: Anniversary
Tomb Raider 2013
Ys Origin
Ys I and II Chronicles
Surgeon Simulator 2013
Sleeping Dogs
Magical Drop V
Scribblenauts Unlimited

All in all, I'm pleased with it, given that I haven't gotten to participate in a Steam sale in over a year.

Does anybody know if you can idle for cards with a gust pass version of a game? I'm guessing no, but it can't hurt to ask.

y u forget The Maw: Speedier Lane?

Giana Sisters -80%? Finally, the Summer Sale has started!

Seriously, it's a great platformer. Some of the most fun I've had in years. I'm glad I picked it up when Asheskitty recommended it. 100%ing is hard, but just playing through isn't. Speaking of which, I should probably finally finish it...
^_^ This 100%. I don't really understand (they never explain) what people are talking about when QQing that Giana is hard... it's definitely short of "Nintendo Hard".

With a 3 TB hdd, I don't have to worry about reinstalling any games and like idiot said, you can idle a couple games while doing other things like surfing the forums or sleeping.
How? My 2TB is at it's limit (with a bunch not installed)... and I haven't seen any 7200 rpm drives bigger than 2TB for a fair price (added a 5900 4TB, might move a 2TB green drive's data to it, and swap the green for another 7200 2TB...)

Well I'll be, way to drop a truckload of cards right as the sale ends. I too am sorta bummed I passed on Cherry Tree, but there is always next sale I suppose.
Cherry Tree high isn't as great as it looks (in my limited time with it)... Another CAG (Sophita?) played it more than me and found it disappointing (requiring multiple playthoughs, but there's limited replay enjoyment).

More cards are great, I just wish I wasn't so close to the 200 a year limit on Steam market sales. Don't really feel like giving Valve my SSN...
Meh, it's not even my social security number, and I still don't want to give it to them.

yeah, that's what UtopianMachine told me. I don't know why, it just looks like something I would really like. Chances are you're right though that I am mostly judging a book game by its cover screenshots and was right to pass on it.

Pretty sure it won't let you idle for cards unless you own the game. Same as how you can't idle for cards during a free weekend.

Yep, problem is most of these cards are already crashed to maybe 10-15 cents.  And while it would be nice to pick up a few bucks selling 30+ I'm only about 50 sales from the tax limit.  Anyway, doesn't seem like many people are buying right now, just a surge of people undercutting each other.

Does this guy just live to give negative false information?

Only a few games have "crashed" to level similar to that, being extremely cheap, repeated bundle games (SPAZ and Beat Hazard). Other games are 25-50 cents a card. The market is already showing that it has life in it post Summer Sale.

Hell, I've been through worse, played DMC, beat it on all difficulties. With Castle Crashers I've beat the story too many times to count.

Regarding the unasked question, "Is Nucular Dawn still active?"  There is currently one populated server that has 15 players.

Don't think i'm even going to bother idling for these.

Well, I only have 691 games (The CAG forum is one of the only places where this could be considered a low amount) and still have 1 TB left on it (oh yeah, also have my origin games on it I have like 25 of them)

My boot drive is a 1.5 TB hdd partitioned into 150 GB (OS) and 1TB partitions (Music, Videos, Porn)

I also have a 750 GB hdd for backup purposes.

The 3 TB drive I had bought is a Toshiba that was on sale for $129.99 during one of the President's Day Weekend sales somewhere. All of these are 7200 RPM drives.

Shit, I finally had my my games with cards down to 6 and now it's back up to 29. Damn first world problems..... Time to restock my steam wallet for more games, bacon and cigs.

Is it just me or are cards dropping incredibly slowly.  Figured I'd go back and actually play Mark of the Ninja for awhile instead of just idling, and in the last hour I've had a whopping 1 of my 5 drops happen.  Orcs Must Die 2 only dropped 2 cards in over 2 hours of idling earlier tonight.  Not even trying to multi-idle at this point since it never seemed to get me any cards anyways.  I had all my Tomb Raider Dust and Euro Truck cards in under 2 hours of play last week so things are seeming dramatically slower, wouldn't think it's related to post sale adjustments, but maybe.
