Did anyone else who got Just Cause 2 during the recent sale experience motion sickness while playing the game? I nearly lost my dinner last night after only playing the game for an hour. I haven't felt that bad since playing Half-Life 2 for an extended period of time. It's a major bummer too because I'm finding the action hero vibe of Just Cause 2 pretty fun overall.
Nope, never experienced that. Never had it with HL2 either though.

Can't say that I have either after 9-10 hours of play. I can see how it could be though with all the grappling and zipping around.
The PC version? yes, a ton better and that's a fact simply because no matter how good U2 looks it's using hardware that is laughable in power compared to my computer. I think the ps3 is using something aroudn the power of an 8800. Not to mention my resolution is better and my cpu/ram is far better so I can push better textures than ps3 is capable of (not to mention DX11!!!!)

Now if U2 was on PC, then it would probably be among the top graphical powerhouses.

edit: now, U2 is probably the better game, but we were talking about graphics
My bad, your post made it sound like Metro was a better game. Obviously the graphics are going to be better.

Just a reminder that we're having a CAG Lead & Gold night at 8pm central time. We only plan on playing for an hour or two. Be sure to join the CAG Lead & Gold group! Post a comment in the event if you plan on playing!

Also, the maps only allow 10 players. So I don't think we can have any more people than that.

EDIT: Shoot, paz beat me to it.

Wow you guys are lucky. I'm surprised I didn't notice it earlier as I played the game for 2.5 hours previously, although in those hours I was still at the beginning missions of the game, and didn't have free control. I think it was largely the driving and how it seems like there's a bit of shaky cam going on with the game. That and for some reason the vehicles all feel like they don't handle quite right.

This is unpleasent.

I had my main HDD fail, and I tried reinstalling Windows on a secondard disk I had, but if overwrote my Steam folder, so I have to download most of the games again. :(

Shadowrun is easily my favorite GFWL title, and I own and have played all but about 6-7 retail and some of the digital arcade ones.

I've crippled my hands playing Super Meat Boy, but I've got A+ times for all of light worlds 1 2 and 3, and everything in world 4 except the final level which I should be able to do but I think my hands need a break.

The game is growing on me.

Watch out fellow meat boyers, the most recent patch fucked up the audio, which plays obscenely loud. To fix, go to options, audio and press right at the SFX and music.

My ears...

I feel your pain man, my thumbs were so sore on Tuesday. What's your SteamID so we can compare times. I have been mostly working on trying to get the fastest times on the first light world.

I am slowly coming around to the game too. I think it partly takes an ajusment to grow to like and part of my intial reaction to the game was based on the dark world which was very tough.

Also anyone else think the first world of the game was 10x harder then the second world?

Absolutely not, hospital was a bitch my first run through. Though I've 100%'d it now.
Are there any Source mods that anyone would recommend?
Goldeneye Source for sure!

Suicide Survival is one of the more unique and genius mods, if you can find anyone to play with. Also look up
Fistful of Frags (Western-themed)
Pirates, Vikings and Knights II (exactly what the name says)
Fortress Forever
Age of Chivalry (medieval combat)
Insurgency (modern combat)
Zombie Panic: Source (terrific zombies-vs-humans game)

Singleplayer:
Minerva (just play this)
Eclipse (nice fantasy third-person thing)
SMOD (fucking hilarious, completely insane mod. It's hard to describe. It's just a collection of assorted insanity, basically. Probably the funniest shit you can do in Source engine, and I'm counting Garry's Mod. There are mods of this mod, such as SMOD:Tactical and SMOD:Outbreak, that try to make it into more serious games, but if you want the funny, get the original vanilla SMOD. Plenty of info in the link)

Dystopia isn't that bad either, althouhg I played that years ago when the first version of it came out. Now that I think of it, it's the only one I've played.

I still think they need The Specialists source and Natural Selection source

Also I just picked up Civilization5 :)

No mention of Dystopia? For shame.

Excellent excellent FPS. Great team workin', very gibsonesque in style, lots of fun perks and weapons.

+1 for Smod though.

Well, that was just a "for starters" list.

Two more multiplayer mods that I'd put on your "must-try" list are NeoTokyo and Orion Mod. Both are unique and have professional-quality production values (the team behind Orion is actually making a new remade-from-scratch, expanded commercial version of the game in Unreal Engine 3, but the original Source mod, which now serves as a prototype sample for the commercial game, is still free, of course). NeoToyko is built around a take on capture-the-flag, with a well-done class system and some neat abilities, all with a really polished cyberpunk presentation (it's often described as being reminiscent of Ghost in the Shell). Orion Mod (and the upcoming commercial version) is basically great for folks who played the classic Tribes games back in the day, but always thought to themselves "man, this could use more dinosaurs." It's an all around solid sci-fi multiplayer shooter, with just the right touch of insane, and I really look forward to where they take the commercial version.

Highly recommended, both of 'em.

While I also ride the love train for NT, unfortunately the developers held the community out to dry and the community has followed suit, barely anyone is on anymore. Definitely my favorite CS style game out there though.

thanks for the suggestions. Just starting Minerva now and have SMOD installed ready to go next.

Are there any multiplayer mods with large communities? I've checked out moddb.com but I didn't find any info on size of the people playing the game.

I agree those fans are still giving me fits trying to A+ all the levels.

The Great Steam Treasure Hunt is on from today until the 20th!

-Every 2 days there are 4 objectives to complete in games (those games are on sale) and every time you complete one you get an entry into a drawing to win 5 games from your wishlist.
-Also, if you complete any 10 of the objectives during the promotion and log in sometime on the 20th, you have a chance of winning 100 Steam games of your choice.
-AND, if you'll get a TF2 hat for completing 5/15/28 objectives!

Today's objectives are:

Self Portrait: Setup an avatar on your Steam Community profile.
Got Tanked?: Earn the Desert Fox Steam Achievement in R.U.S.E. - $33.49 (33% off)
Up the Ante: Win The Iron Curtain in Poker Night at the Inventory - $2.99 (40% off)
More Cowbell: Set a leaderbord score of at least 1,124,400 in easy mode for the 'Paul Hartnoll' level in Chime - $1.25 (75% off)

EDIT: Whoops, totally didn't see that Coffee had already made a thread about this.

Dang, another sale? I just got Civ5 for myself the other day as a bday present lol would've held of a bit if I knew there was going to be another sale!

You aren't alone. I've had the game since release and I finally won my first tournament today. It doesn't help that the AI seems to know your hand (fold when you're dealt a high pair, all-in when you've got shit).

Well it's funny, I won my very first tournament but no items were on the line. After that, they started putting up gear and I played like ass.
Gah, I'm terrible at Texas Hold'em. Do I have until the 20th to get the Iron Curtain for the achievement? Or only the next 2 days?
You've got until the next round of objectives go live in 40 hours.

So far I've only won Tychos watch. I played earlier and the Heavy put up the Iron Curtain but I got rolled so I won nothing.

Haven't played Poker Night yet but played about 45 minutes of Chime and liked it. Didn't quite understand what to do the first couple of times, but started racking up the points my third time. Really liked the song that you needed score 1.1 million on for the objective.

Kinda cool new sale. Picked up Chime since it was a dollar and I was interested in it anyway, ended up getting the objective on my first go of that map/song. Already had Poker Night and the Heavy's minigun, so that one was already done, and I already had an avatar. I'd be interested in Ruse, but not at $33.

Unfortunately I think most of the games I actually want from Steam don't use Steamworks/don't have Steam achievements, but there will probably be a few things like Chime that I was interested enough in to pick up dirt cheap. And of course there's hope for the non-Steamy games showing up during the Christmas sale.

Ack, as I was typing that I just remembered Borderlands. Got that and all the DLC on Steam except for Robot Revolution. Here's hoping for a Borderlands deal that marks down the DLC as well.

All these Steam threads are making me dizzy...

Played Poker Night waaaaaay too long last night, but I managed to get all the items and even landed a straight flush; 14 of 17 achievements done. Also, Chime has great choonage.

I can not get over how kick ass beat hazard is! I freaking love this game! The music/shooter combo just makes for such an intense experience that is so much fun. Last night when I played it and beat a stage on hard without dying and the music getting louder and louder and my effects bigger and bigger it was just such an amazing and thrilling experience.

I need to play that more. Ive only played for a short time after purchasing it. I dont know why but when I sit down to play a game beat hazard isnt one that comes to mind.
