Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

Keep it on topic or your post may be deleted to prune down the thread size.

are the zelda shield thingies worth 19.98? I saw about 8 of them and when i scanned them they came up 'item not found' but they had red 19.98 stickers on them.

You can ask them to look up the last selling price with the LRT hand scanner (they may not be willing to and insist the price is $19.98 and it's possible that was the last selling price at your Target)
Target in Rossford OH had about 7 or 8 Tony Hawk decks for $22.54

Sadly there were no Zelda shields left.

.
I was there maybe on thursday? and I saw the zelda shields,(about 6-8 of them) one was marked 9.98 and the others 19.98. I thought about it but did not bother picking it up.

I went to that target a few times last week and saw the Zelda shields. I was hoping for a drop to 10 bucks today but they were all gone. Not sure if they pulled them or someone purchased them all before I got there. I did not see the one for $9.98 last week. I wish I would have because I wanted it at that price.

Yo quick idiot question here...if it's been asked/answered...sorry I'm an idiot :d ANYWAY...when I went to my Target a few weeks ago, they didn't have hardly anything! Are the clearanced games all located with the other games or are they at another part of the store? Thanks and sorry for the stupidity! :D

At my target, some of them are in the case and the rest are usually on an encap near the electronics department. My Target usually has no clearance video games though, but I did find Gunpey the other day.

There's almost always a dedicated clearance section- usually a wall-facing endcap within a few aisles of the games. Keep in mind that some of the games mentioned here have been found in the regular case though.

One more word on that, beanie.

Depending on which Target I go to and the Target's layout (there are a few different layouts depending on the square footage of the store), sometimes the electronics clearance is divided up between a few endcaps. Some right near other electronics, and others near toys or even the dang pharmacy. So don't be afraid to spend a few minutes checking out the endcaps in different sections in the off chance that you score a good find.

Edit: That reminds me. Who was looking for that iPod speaker thingy, and how much where you wanting it for?

lawdood and I are looking for the iPod Hi-Fi, for anything less than $100 or so.

Just a heads up to anyone who spots the Tony Hawk Project 8 Skateboard Combo packs marked down to $22.44. Check to make sure the game is in there! Went to a Target yesterday that had a huge stack of them, but they were all opened and the game was removed from every one of them! Don't know if it was done by employees or shoplifters, but I don't see how shoplifters would take 20+ copies of a game. Also, I've seen Xbox 360 Live Kits opened up with the cards missing, so double check anything not locked up.

They were the same way at the store I went to also. I'm thinking that people maybe bought it, took the game out, and then returned it.

I went to my local Target finally and surprisingly...found a couple things :D

True Crime: New York City - $4.98...I figured it's worth 5 atleast
Gunpey DS - $7.48...Eh, it was cheap :D

And the biggest surprise was...

Yoshi Touch & Go for $4.98 :hot:

Then I went over to Wal-mart and found a copy of Advance Wars Dual Strike for the DS! All in all, a pretty good day, but my Target didn't have much else. They had Kirby's Air Ride for 10 bux but I passed and well...that was about all they had left :(

Ok, I was with my girl and she wanted to go to a city about 50 miles away. So I decide to go to the two Targets out there that I dont frequent much. I have found some clearance deals there before, but this time...........NADA! I didnt see any good deals at all. They were cleaned out totally, at least in the game department. I'm glad my 4 home Targets had stuff for me to get, so finding nothing at these 2 far-away Targets wasnt that bad. At least me and my girl had a great day spending time together in another city. Now to wait for new items to clearance out as I am done with the current items.

DK King Of Swing $7.48
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 $4.98
Elder Scrolls III Morrowind $4.98
Suzuki TT Superbikes $3.74
Real World Golf $12.48 (Big box)

They are probably worth it for collector's. I hid one at a Target in the DFW area, but figured I had no use for it. I told spectreon where to find it and after getting it scanned by an LRT and a register at Customer Service he scored it for $9.98. It came up in the sytem with the last price of $19.98, but he told the manager that a buddy of his scored one for $10. They almost denied him the sale because it was suppose to be salvaged, but persistance payed off, but of course this is YMMV.

Nice haul today

We love Katamari $7.48
Kirby Air Ride-9.98
metroid prime 2-$9.98
Fire Emblem Sacred Stones-$7.48
Donkey Konga 2 W/Bongos-$4.98

(after searching 4 targets)
True Crime: New York City - $4.98...I figured it's worth 5 atleast
For which system? The xbox has a bug in the game that makes it near to impossible to finish (unless you have a rapid fire controller to beat the bug). I loved the first TC, and enjoyed NYC for being a nice improvement graphically. Marcus is totally cool but not as fun a character as Nick Kang... which goes with the general feel of the game. True Crimes Streets of LA was a fun and goofy game with some great fights and moves. NYC felt a lot angrier. But definately worth $5 no question.
Yoshi Touch & Go for $4.98 :hot:
Yeah, i saw a price marker on an endcap for Yoshi for 2.48 at one of the Targets I hit. I nearly cried, as big surprize, they were all out.

At my Target, they have a DS/GBA endcap by the registers filled with $15 and $20 games ... but mine also had a whole row of $5 Viewtiful Joe DS. These were unmarked -- other titles had price stickers on the shelf, but none for VJ. I'll go pick up an extra if anyone has a Canvas Curse to trade. If this is a new display at Targets, it might also mean a new shipment of games, so keep your eyes peeled for these if you want some Joe.
Got a dpci on that one?
What's a dpci? I'm stupid :D

Guin, it's the Xbox version...I mainly got it just to have it as I have the first one but just kinda quit playin it lol I was hoping to find Viewtiful Joe but alas, nada. They had Donkey Kong King of Swing I wanted but didn't have it checked! D'oh!
Donkey Konga 2 W/Bongos-$4.98
Whaaa?? I know a Target that has this sitting in the case (with no clearance tag). I had no idea that was a clearance item or I would have snagged it. It will probably be salvaged before I try to go back there and get it.

Yet another lame run at Target. I saw Metroid Prime 2 and Harvest Moon with red tags. That's all to report from here. Nothing for the PS2.

Though, I found a copy of Karaoke Revolution 3 at the EB Games nearby. $45. Meh.

Did pretty good today:

Warioware Touched DS 17.49
Day of Reckoning GC 4.99
Burnout 3 PS2 9.99
Suzuki Super Bikes PS2 3.74
Tak 4.99

I also picked up one of those Zelda sling backpacks for 19.99

At target in vancouver today I got def jam - fight for new york for $9.99. Had mark of kri, shamen king, true crime, and a few others for $9.99 there too. numerous dbz sagas there too.

I finally got a zelda shield/cd for 10.04 at my target they were finally marked out of the system but the lady in electronics put them back in at that price.
I finally got a zelda shield/cd for 10.04 at my target they were finally marked out of the system but the lady in electronics put them back in at that price.
I saw one reappear at my local Target with the $33.98 tag but it scanned out of the system. They had one last week at $19.98 so I brought it to the Electronics guy - he thought it should be $19.98 too and used the hand scanner to look up the last price - sure enough, $19.98. I passed (already have one at that price and was hoping for $10.xx). Looks like most places salvaged these after $19.98 - consider yourself damn lucky if you get it for less than that.

All the other games were exactly the same. The stupid Xbox Live kit was still $41.98 (and they don't even have them most places). I had been debating whether that was worth it or not, and was hoping it would drop. There's another Target 20 miles away that had one more last week. I was going to head out there to see what was up at that store (plus they had lots of different games).

HOWEVER, I decided to stop in a nearby Kmart first. They had the same kits, unmarked, in the case. I was expecting $38 as that's what was reported in the Kmart thread. RANG UP $24!! DAMN, that is definitely worth it and now I don't have to play the stupid hide/wait game at Target for it to drop to $30 or something. Man, that saves me a ton of trouble. Anyway, the Target one is going back to the store unless anyone wants it for cost + shipping. It's still not a bad deal considering the 1 year of Live and the Bankshot Billiards download + 200 MS points (not to mention the headset). If anyone is interested send me a PM.

It's funny, the only thing I bought at Target was an electronic darts game that was all of $2.48. The kids got my money's worth out of it when I got home. We could throw it away now and it would have been worth it .

My Target almost never has many clearance console games. I did see some TV Games - the plug and play type - marked down though. I was wondering about the Sonic one. It has Sonic 1 and 2 and Spinball.
Has anyone tried this? Is it worth trying for $10?
The only thing my target has is DBZ Sagas XB for 13.98.

That's it. And that's LAME.
Same my Target never has anythign good on clearance. Word on the street is a Janitor has been scooping up all the clearance games every week at my local target.

I went to Target today to pick up Diddy Kong Racing DS, and when I chekced out, I saw a Viewtiful Joe DS on behind the counter,so I checked out the Clearance. There were like 6 Viewtiful Joe Double Troubles for $4.98 each, so I picked one up. Sweet deal. I also some some other games, I can only remember Metroid Prime 2, and I didn't even bother to check the price.

Closest Target to me has nothing anymore.

I seriously think they are going out of the gaming business. They just have new releases. There were a couple copies of Metroid and Star Fox left, but that's it. I'm so glad I got the last Advance Wars: DS. That is EASILY the best game on DS that I have played. Would of been worth $34.
Real World Golf Bundle (19.98 also reported)

has anyone picked this up?
Strange that it could be ringing up for $19.98 at some stores and since every Target I have seen it at has the original price at $49.99 so it would be $34.98 then $24.98 and then $12.48. I plan to pick it up for $12.48 if there are any left by then
my local target had a bunch of good plastic sleds at 75% off. too bad snow hasn't happened much here in the past couple years. :(
Our Walmart sells plastic snow sleds... on the coast of central Florida..

yeah, I saw a copy the other day & the price was $24.98 [marked] & almost bought it but $12.48 sounds sooo much nicer! Has anyone reported buying a copy for $12.48, yet? I'd buy it at that price for sure.

I've seen it at $12.48 but did not get one yet.

I found Shaman King Power of Spirit today for 9.98. I picked it up figuring it was the type of game that would increase in value.

Went to target today after work and got Tamagotchi connection corner shop 2 for NDS $7.46. It has red a sticker over the barcode, and for some reason I wasnt charged tax, so this may have been an odd ball target incident. :grouphug:
