Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

Keep it on topic or your post may be deleted to prune down the thread size.
Went to target today after work and got Tamagotchi connection corner shop 2 for NDS $7.46. It has red a sticker over the barcode, and for some reason I wasnt charged tax, so this may have been an odd ball target incident. :grouphug:
Damn, my daughter wants that game and I'd definitely bite at that price. Aren't the barcode stickers over the original barcodes for the "As Is" items (they are red/white sitckers)? Like things that have been opened and resealed. Usually, though, they only discount them a tiny amount and it is never worth it. But I'll certainly look into it next time I'm at Target.

yes it was an AS IS barcode sticker, but the game was unopened, and now thats its open i can say it works great. :)

I saw some arcade unit thing that has like 12 or 15 classic games on it clearanced for $99.98 at my Target. It was like a mini arcade cabinet with all Konami classic games ( I think, didnt look at it too close). It was $299.99 originally the sticker said. I never have seen this thing before at Target. Thinking about getting it if someone can tell me if its any good.

If it's the same as the Midway cabinet (I think it is) then it's poorly designed. The joystick is too close to the side of the cabinet and your hand constanstly hits the cabinet. It's also too short so it's a strain on your neck after a while.

Yeah, I saw that too but it was still marked $200. I thought I might get it at $100. It is short, but that makes it perfect for my kids to play. Though even $100 is a bit much (but I assume it won't go any lower than that).

Most of the great Clearance stuff has been bought or returned to Manufacturer or disposed of in some other way. I was extremely dissapointed to miss out on the Tony Hawk Deck. Kept checking and waiting for the final mark-down to $22.xx. On a Sunday I checked and they were still $44.xx. Read about them being cut in half, went in on a Wednesday, was informed that the store sent them all back to the Manufacturer.

Also found a Battalion Wars at a Target in Phoenix. I picked it up and noticed there was no shrink-wrap. Opened it and sure enough, no disc. Who steals a $3.74 game?!?

Burnout Legends and Xmen Legends 2 (both for PSP) -$4.98 a piece at my Target. Got the last ones of each (they only had one of each that I could see.)

i saw golden tee arcade at target, it was still in its gigantic box. it was marked at $199. im gonna wait until it drops for alot more :). too bad someone got a hold of my iPOD HI-FI speakers...

My Target has numerous Sirius satelite radio receivers and docking kits on clearance as well as a good selection of I-Pod accessories. To bad the clearance games got wiped out. :censored:
What were the receivers priced at?
If my memory serves me correct, the visor radio kit was $27.xx and the other version they had (chunky looking one, not sure of name) was $34.xx. The prices looked like they were in the 15%-25% range. If they drop lower, I'll bite on the visor home kit, since I already have the actual visor radio for the car.
Ok, I found the arcade unit I am talking about on Target's site. The site says its $500 so the one I found still in the box at my Target for $99.98 is a steal. Unless it does suck like YoshiFan1 says. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.htm...1/601-0219392-6123301?ie=UTF8&asin=B000GYV4W8
Based on that picture, it looks identical to the Midway cabinet I was describing (with different art of course), the joysticks are the same colors, the screen looks small and in the same position and it has the game art in the same way the Midway one was. Might be worth it for $99.98 though.

I picked up spongebob movie for gba for 4.99
once I hit 30 I'll stop liking spongebob. promise.
(of course now that I have a toddler I love backyardigans.)

I saw two Zelda miniature thingees at the Target in Castleton today. They rang up at $0.00. I didn't try to buy them. They were still tagged at $19.98.

what kind of thingys?

Spotted today at the Washington Square Target in Tigard, OR:

PS2:
Real World Golf (2 copies) - $34.98
Street Hoops GH (1 copy) - either $7.48 or $7.98. Not a deal either way, of course.
Some random Jampack (featured a God of War demo) - around $1.30 or so
Rise of the Kasai - Either $13.98 or $14.98. This was in the glass case with all the other PS2 games, unlike everything else listed in this post, which was on an endcap.

PC:
City Of Villains - $13.98
There were lots of random budget PC games I didn't look through as well.

Hey, I was there a few hours ago and was as disappointed as you were (lifted up something with anticipation to see what the PS2 game underneath it was only to be disappointed by the same single copy of Street Hoops marked $7.48 ;) ).

This is the store that had the case full of Tony Hawk Project 8 game/skateboard sets for $24.xx (or whatever) last week. I was holding out for half that but they obviously cleared them out at some point.

i hope this is not a repost.. im just too lazy to read everything. but i got this great deal today.

REAL WORLD GOLF Bundle for - 12.48 for ps2. they had 1 more left. i thought to grab one for my collection. hope you all can find it!!!

cheers.

Wow, I think that's 90% off. I would have thought they would "salvage" them before they hit that price.

so i asked the target workers what happened to the tony hawks with skateboards, and they all said that they were sent back... because it was a item for xmas and yada yada yada.. BUT!!!!!!!! why do i see 2 rows of Project 8 in the glass case, temporarily marked at 29.99. yes the sign said "Temorary Markdown" So i came to the conclusion.. the items never got sent back, corp realized selling the game w/board at 22.xx would suck, why not trash the lame boards which no one wants.. and sell the game for 30. win win for everyone. i think not.

sufferin sakatash!

Time to check my target again as they had one of these left over the weekend that hadn't dropped from 25.00 yet

I suspected as much as well. When the boards went to $22.44 at one Target I went to, ALL of them had been opened and the games were removed, so essentially they were just selling the board for $22.44. When I went back there on Sunday, they boards were all gone now and they had many Tony Hawk Project 8 games in the case.

Did find a Baten Kaitos EWATLO for $4.98 and a Killer 7 (GC) for $3.74 so not too shabby. I seriously need a Viewtiful Joe DS for $4.98 and can't find one anywhere! Can some kind CAG hook me up or trade for another Target clearance game?

I saw like 12 iHome's for 49.98 - 15%, so they were like 35 bucks, but can anyone tell me if these are any good? as far as sound quality goes?

If anyone notices if the games dropped another level..*cough*Metroid Echoes for $4.98*cough* please post, I don't really want to make a big trip for nada

I've seen people report that price but the cheapest I've found it so far was $24.98, which is 50% off. $12.48 is actually 75% off, not 90% as some one else stated. Retail price at Target was in the $50 range before the clearance started.

I've only found it for $24.98 as well. I saw it at 2 Targets today but I figure it will still be there next week at $12.9x.

Picked up Gunpey DS for $7.4x, Viewtiful Joe Double Trouble for $4.9x, and snagged a crushed copy of FF I&II for $7.4x to return later with my receipt from back when it was $20.xx.

it was still 9.9x last night. but don't prices go down today? everyother monday?

Scored viewtiful joe double trouble yesterday at local Target. Sticker price was 14.99, got it for 4.98. They had 20+ copies left.

Gunpey DS for $7.48?! Crap, I've been glossing over this thread the entire time. Time to hit up Target. Can anyone vouch for it? I'm a total sucker for puzzle games.

I was in Target today and saw the following...and passed on all them.

GC - Metroid 2 ($4.98)
GC - Spongebob The Movie Game ($4.98)
DS - Ping Pals ($3.74)

Mario Golf Toadstool Tour - $4.98 (still had about 5 copies left)
Baten Kaitos - $4.98 (still had about 5 copies left)
We Love Katamari - $7.48 (x3, got the last 3 copies)

I saw it at 14.99, figured it had to be $4.98, had it scanned, but it was still 14.99. :whistle2:( I'll go back tomorrow and have it rung up at the register.

Im sure most people are done here, but if anyone can get (or already has) Kirby:CC and Yoshi: Touch and Go, ill paypal + shipping + a lil somthin. :)

So Real world golf, was only 12.98 at that one target i went to last night. all the 4 i went to today still had it for 24.98 ithink i got crazy lucky! i was debating to go back and see if i can pickup the other one too, but oh well. i own one already. Although that location also had Metroid Prime 2 which iwould have loved to get, but did not wanna drive all the way over there for 5 bux.

Overall Haul in past 2 days - which i think is Extremely ymmv

Cube - Baten Kaitos - 4.98
Cube - One Peice : Pirates Carnival - 4.98
Cube - Tak 2 : The Staff of Dreams - 2.48
Cube - Harvest Moon : A Wonderful Life - 4.98 but its PC :(
Ps2 - Rise of the Kasai - 7.48
Ps2 - Real World Golf - 12.48
Box - Conflict Desert Storm - 2.48

Im looking at my receipt and the real world golf rang up as PS2 ACC, the rest all had their names..

Cheers...
you passed up Metroid Prime 2 for $5? I surely hope you already own it.
No I actually don't already own it. I am an old school Metroid fan and the original is one of my favorite games. I did purchase Metroid Prime and just couldn't get into it. (I sat down with the intention to play several times and didn't have any interest and I am not sure why?) I figured if I never touch Prime why bother with part 2 of it? Very strange since I can usually sit and play every game, even the crappy ones but for some reason Metroid Prime never held my interest. Are you telling me I should give it another try? Maybe I will while I am thinking about it.

How much time did you invest? I was one of those 2D diehards that believed that Metroid Prime was going to fail but I put in enough time until the controls felt natural and I was hooked. I now say with full confidence that it's every bit as good as the old 2D games. Echoes didn't feel quite as special as the first Prime but that's perhaps because it was a mere sequel rather than a total reconstruction.
On Friday I picked up City of Villians for the PC for $4.99 even though it was marked at $9.98.
I need to go tomorrow and see if it dropped again at my store. They had 2 copies on Sat but it was still ringing up for $9.98. For $5, I'll pick it up just to play it with a friend of mine for a month.
