Original Target Clearance Thread

Since the Target deals are usually of the "your mileage may vary" type, let's keep all the target clearance deals in this thread.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance without making the store clerk unlock the display case and price-scan a bunch of games. Very often, games may be on sale, but will not be marked as such.

BigDirty came up with this nice time saver. Respect his cheap ass skills.

1) Check this thread for games that have been reported on clearance.

2) Go to www.half.com, http://bits.com/ or similar website and search for the game to locate its UPC code number. Its in the grey box underneath the box art graphic.

3) Go to http://upcdata.info/ , www.milk.com/barcode/ , or www.upcdatabase.com and enter the code so you can print out the UPC.

4) Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts and search for cheap ass deals!

FYI: "When a game's price ends with 8 cents, further reduction is possible, when it ends in 4 cents, that's the ball game, pick it up cause it's not going any lower. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction." - BigDirty

Games that do not sell after being discounted are often donated to local Goodwills for sale at their retail stores, so check there when the clearance items dissappear.

This thread is for Clearance deals, not sale items or raincheck "scams"
Please Post City, State and Store (If City has many stores), game, system and price

Keep extraneous discussion to a minimum, as posts not pretating to clearance deals may be deleted by the mod crew.

As always-- YMMV

Example:

Philadelphia, PA Snyder Plaza
BigDirty's Wild Ride, XBox, $4.98

*Thanks to CheapyD and BigDirty for the info*

Keep it on topic or your post may be deleted to prune down the thread size.

I made a trip to a local Target that is a little out of the way today. They had most of the games listed in IO's post of soon to be clearenced games, but weren't at that price range yet. I pick up BF2 to probably return and sit on at a Target closer to me.

The only clearence deals there were a bunch of Kameo copies for 20.xx. I could pick one up if anyone wants one.

io, in that list of ASINs you posted, would you also have DOAX2? It seems to be the only one missing of the ones you posted. Thanks.

It won't do you any good on that site though. For some reason, DOAX2's ASIN doesn't work on that site.

Hmm...the site doesn't seem to be that accurate...I searched for a few games I just saw in stock at the local Target but they show out of stock on the site.
The 360 games that the Target has here in Shelby Township are showing as regular price. Oh well.
Give it time. Target clearance deals aren't YMMV...the prices drop at different times at different stores though. Also, many stores never mark the games with clearance tags.
OK, since I was checking the availability of these games in my area I figured I might as well post all the ASIN's I was collecting here...

I also recalled seeing...

XB360 Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged $28

Just went to a Target in San Jose, Ca and they had several wii games on clearance:
The Ant Bully for $21
Chicken Little for $28
Barnyard for $34
(Rounded up the prices to the nearest dollar because i forgot the exact number)

All licensed games but if this is your thing then it's great. Good collection builders. Poker was on clearance also but I didn't see the price.

I don't own a Wii (read: yet), but I do recall seeing EB advertise you can get a free Wii game (think $49.99 max) when you trade in any 2 Wii games.

I think this was also confirmed with a post on CAG.

So $42+tax for a $49.99+tax Wii game?

The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy, World Series of Poker, and Monster 4x4 were also on clearance at my store, along with what you listed. I don't remember the prices though, I was busy today.

went today and found...

DS stylus 2-pack for $1.24
EyeToy Play2 (PS2) for $12.48
Rish of the Kasai (PS2) $7.48
Danny Phantom - Urban Jungle (DS) $13.98

Well, this is all well and good, but my Target had none of the 360 or Wii games on clearance (and I checked by putting DCPI's into the floor scanners). They are all still regular price. Guess I'll see what happens next week.

They DID have VJ Double Trouble for $7.48. WTF!?!? They put this on clearance, take it off when new "$14.99" value stock comes in, then put it BACK on clearance again. Wierd... Also Need For Speed Carbon for DS at $20.98. I hid one of each for the next round...

I noticed they had a new display up by the registers of $14.99 DS games - things like Lunar Dragon Song, Robots, etc... That's where the VJ's should have been, but I guess they changed their minds. Funny thing is that it would have been the best game out of the bunch .

My store also has that cleareance display up by the registers. I haven't run across any of the marked down Wii or 360 games (unless they're in the electronics case and unmarked).
This is a bad sign for the Wii if it's games can only retain their value for 3 months. Good for us, though.
I see it a bit differently. The console geared towards EVERYONE isn't selling kiddie games. That is good for Wii gamers in the long run.

Well, the fact of the matter is that these games are pretty much licensed crap that was rushed out for the Wii launch, so I don't think you can make judgments about the Wii in general from them. I personally wouldn't pay even the clearance prices for these.

The only one that is close to being considered playable is chicken little and thats thanks to it's ratchet and clank game play engine.

What the hell are you talking about? They're clearancing the worst games on the system, not fucking Twilight Princess.

There are no Wii games on clearance at my Target, but they do have about 9 wii's sitting there.

Might go check out another Target today since I would like to get some of these games.....does anyone know if happy feet was also clearanced at any of your targets?

Hrrm, Gamestop has a trade 2 wii games get 1 free. I was already thinking about trading in my Super Monkey Ball Banana Blitz, do I pay $21 for Ant Bully and go get Sonic & the Secret Rings? stay tuned.

Target only has so much room for games as it is, makes sense to get the crap out so they can get the better games in there

Agree, this game is decent.

I bought Barn Yard & Ant Bully (both PS2) for my kid and they are pretty bad... he doesn't like Barn Yard at all and Ant Bully is sort of unbalanced (keeps needing help).

This is already reported on extensively in the Target Clearance thread. If these games drop again before the EB/GS promotion ends, I may go grab some to trade in for new Wii games.

would be nice to see this thread closed and rolled up in to the target clearance thread. as is this thread is just a huge bullseye to the SD and FW crowd.

VJ Double Trouble still ringing up 14.99 for me in Buffalo :( I was hoping that this might mean that some of the other 14.99 endcap games would have been clearanced, 'cause I'd totally pounce on Tony Hawk: American Sk8land for 7.48. Alas, it, as well, rings up the full 14.99.

I was at one of the Targets in my area last night and found several Xbox 360 titles on clearance. Here is what I found:

$20.98
Kameo
Tomb Raider Legend
Burnout Revenge
N3 Ninety Nine Nights
Arcade Unplugged
Table Tennis
Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth

$27.98
DOA4 (I got the last copy of this)
Far Cry
Pimp my Ride

$41 or $44 I can't remember exactly
Dead Rising

I probably shouldn't post this, but since I can't seem to find a Target clearance trading thread or anything:

Does anybody still have a Wii Zelda sling bag? For sale or trade?

Just stopped by on lunch. Lots of PC crap on clearance, Doom3 for $9.xx. The only console system game was a Fifa06 DS for $20.xx. I laughed when I saw it.

Also, a couple copies of Kameo for $20.xx were available there.

Anyone able to still get the Target store inventory checker to still work on non-Wii stuff? I still get a brief glimpse of the search results (maybe one second) and then it spits you out into a more refined GUI for Wii searches.

I'll hit Target next week on Monday & hope it drop down $7.49 - $14.98 instead $20.99 & Up.

I'll get them all next week ;)
Kameo
Tomb Raider Legend
N3 Ninety Nine Nights
Arcade Unplugged
Lord of the Rings Battle for Middle Earth
DOA4
Far Cry

Found DOA extreme 2 for $42 and FIght night 3 360 for $21, plus stacks of chicken little $28 and barnyard $35 for WII. I'll consider the first 2 when they drop under $20.

So you'll consider Fight night Round 3 when it goes down $1 to $20? Tell me your Paypal address and I'll send you the dollar you poor guy.

BTW: If a dollar is a breaking point for buying or not buying a game, maybe you should focus on more important things such as bills, food, and gas. If you're that poor, my advice would be to lay low on video games for awhile.

Are you guys finding the 360 and Wii clearance games red stickered on the clearance endcaps or just in the electronics case??

I haven't seen anything 360 or Wii related on clearance at my store yet.

My Target had all the Wii clearance on the home phone aisle endcap. Also had Super Mario 64 on clearance for ~$25.

I haven't either. All I've seen is a bunch of clearance DS Danny Phantoms.

Anyone want to trade Targets ;)

That's the ONLY console/handheld game that's been clearanced out at my Target. They've got plenty of Doom 3's for PC, though... :(
