Nothing really big but I found two games I didn't have for under $3.00
DSC03478.jpg

The pink NES case it came in still has the TRU price of $.89 cents. Picked up for $.99

DSC03480.jpg

This was $1.99. I usually don't buy disc only copies but it was cheap and I could make a custom cover for it.

SNES- system only and pretty yellow but it works-$10
Sega Pico- no cables but had 101 Dalmaitions game and works-$4
Titan TSD 2000 Hockey Stick- good shape-$2
Franklin SH Comp 100-GL 18 Goalie Hockey Stick-$2

Guess ill have to play some street hockey now. Couldnt really find any prices online for the sticks but I know $2 apiece isnt bad at all since they look barely played with.

My Goodwill was holding their "first Saturday of the month 50% off" sale today. Got there late in the afternoon and still managed to snag R.C. Pro-Am for the NES for $2.50, The Rolling Stones' "Steel Wheels" album for $1.50 & a kinda dog-eared copy of Naruto Vol.26 for $.50.

I stumbled upon the Naruto Manga by accident. I went over to the books to find my Mom and saw it out of the corner of my eye when passing the kids books. For $.50, why not?

Haven't been able to try R.C since my NES' are acting up and need to be cleaned. If it's as good as Rally King from Retro Game Challenge, then it's money well-spent. Overall, I'd say it was a good haul for how late I got there.

I found a bunch of stuff the other day at one of the local Salvation Army stores that likes to overprice older games.

I found the following(all for PS1):

Namco Museum Vol. 1-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Parappa The Rapper-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Atari Collection 2-complete, some minor surface scratches-marked $4.99:bomb:
Wild 9-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:
Marvel Super Heroes-complete, mint-marked $4.99:bomb:

About the only ones I wanted were Wild 9 and/or the Atari Collection 2, but I wasn't about to pay $10 for two fuckin' PS1 games. The people running this store(it says Salvation Army on the outside, but I think it's independently run)think older games=gold.

If they're still there next week maybe I'll go back and try to haggle with them for a deal like 4/$10 or something.

Can I persuade you to pick up that Marvel Super Heroes for me? :)

Why the hell didnt you pick up Marvel?, even if u didnt buy it for you , u know i would of gave you $6 for it..i told you that the other day!!
Can I persuade you to pick up that Marvel Super Heroes for me? :)
The store isn't open today since thrift stores and pawn shops aren't open on Sundays in PA.
Why the hell didnt you pick up Marvel?, even if u didnt buy it for you , u know i would of gave you $6 for it..i told you that the other day!!
Because I have no desire to sit on a game for another 3 months waiting to get paid for it like the last time?:roll: If these stores didn't want $5-6 for older games and only wanted a buck, that would've been fine.

You ever see the spoof of Parappa they did on Robot Chicken, Scorch? That shit was hilarious.

For those who may not know, Robot Chicken is a show that's on later at night on Cartoon Network when they switch over to their Adult Swim programming block. They use classic action figures in stop motion animation skits.

I don't do the game trading sites, Kube. I'd rather trade here, where I don't have to worry about 'points' or whatever they use on there. Plus, I definitely had zero interest in the PS1 games(save for the complete Namco Vol 1, Atari Collection 2 and maybe Wild 9)they had there, especially the MSH one. I absolutely can't stand the SF clone fighting games(or the normal SF games to begin with).
If you pick up Parappa and its in good condition I'll send $5 + shipping and a few bucks for your time right away.
It was in mint condition, but I didn't see it when I went back to that SA store the other day. Then again, I wasn't really looking all that well for it.

However, the manual was just the front and back cover and a foldout instruction sheet thing, unless that's the way the manual was in that game.

Intellivision with Las Vegas Poker and Black Jack- $6, missing rf cable but was able to get a picture using an old switch box and a composite cable, are rf cables any different cause the composite cable fits?

That is how it was. The foldout thing is pretty hard to find. Most of the times that you find it it will just be the front and back.

K so i saw this a few weeks ago marked at $20, and i wasn't sure if it was worth it. Went back to that store today, and amongst the piles of used cell phones it was still there, and had been re-priced to $10.

Its the Lynx, a case, and four games: batman returns, shadow of the beast, pac-land, and california games.

Damn. That's a good deal. That's how I keep my games(mint condition). It's a shame that other folks don't use the same consideration.

Had a pretty good day at SA today:

Boxed NES - 9.99

Dragon Warrior (NES) - free cause it was in the NES
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles III: Manhatten Project (NES) - 2.99
Super Mario World (SNES) - 2.99
Final Fantasy VI (Super Famicom) - 2.99

I found these yesterday at my local thrift stores.

PS1 Metal Gear Solid $2 (disc 1 mint, disc 2 with some scratches)
N64 Off Road Challenge $1.50
N64 MK Mythologies: Sub-Zero $1.50
NES Golgo 13 with dust sleeve $1.50
NES Wizards and Warriors with dust sleeve $1.50
SNES Winged Commander with dust cover $1.50
2 SNES controllers (okay condition, probably for parts) $4

I hit the Goodwill again last Friday to see if they had anything new, and I walked out with these

DSC03513.jpg

DSC03514.jpg

For $12.00.

havent been Goodwill'n that much lately since my car has been out for 2 weeks. went today and almost didnt get anything, looked in the case near the checkout on my way out and saw a gameboy camera. asked how much and the guy said $3 which i was fine with but then i noticed that taped to it was something. checked it out when i was walking to the car and it was a link cable (gbasp to gbasp not even for gb to printer) and a pelican brand gba light. camera works so that was worth my $3, not able to test the link cable or light cause i only have 1 GBASP, a DS Lite, and a DSi.

Crazy Taxi 2 (Dreamcast) - $2.50
Soul Calibur (Dreamcast) - $2.50

First find at Goodwill, woot. Were normally $5 each, but they were half off.

I'm jealous. I really want a copy of Ultimate Qix. I love the Gameboy version. My sister had it for years, I lucked into one at Gamestop for .50 thanks to the 75% off sale on Gameboy games.

Oh, lucked into a cart only of Metroid II: Return of Samus for the GB today at SA. $1.75. The front's a little wobbly and the back has marker on it. The pins need a little cleaning, but look decent enough. They start out at over $10 with shipping on amazon.

found some gamecube games

Just got Pikmin and Pikmin 2 for 2.50 a piece at the Salvation army...

Super Smash brothers:Melee 3.00 St.Vincent

a few weeks ago i also got nhl blitz for .75 cents...

I keep on seeing gamecubes for 4-6 bucks wonder if should pick them...

posted in the wrong year.. whoops

I found a black label Metal Gear Solid at SA for $5. But didn't buy it because I owned the game.
They were also selling two FIFA soccer games and the older version was priced higher than the new one. $6.99 vs. 9.99

:bouncy: I got to brag about this because as an old Infinity Engine fan this is pretty much the ultimate find for me. About 5 or more years ago I threw away all the big boxes to my original PC games and am slowly rebuilding a small collection:

And now...I presenteth:

Planescape: Torment (sealed) $5.98 Half-Price Books

I've found quite a bit of stuff at Thrift stores.

I've gotten a Sega Genesis system from a locally-owned one. Came with 10 games that are fun to play. I haven't found alot from Goodwill, save for Tom Clancy's Endwar for the PC. The Goodwill near me is always selling Sega Saturn games. I'd jump on those if they were selling the system...

That version is a UK Interplay re-release that was available 11/20/2009 and sells for $20. Gogamer sells it for $20+like $5+ for shipping. No idea if it's really a "big box" maybe it's the smaller box available these days for most PC games. The one I found is the original release. It has this sticker on the front telling you there is a coupon inside worth 59.95 for redeeming towards a BEEPER. Hahah. 911. Cheapest I can find with the big box seems to be $60 used on half.com

Edit: re-release

I say pick up the ones you think would be worth something. If you look at VGPC, you can see that some of the games go for big bucks, namely Panzer Dragoon Saga.

Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into that.

From Goodwill:
Super Monaco GP - Complete $1.99
GoGo's Vacation $.99

Another thrift store:
Road Rash - Complete $1.99 (to replace my cart only copy)
Bimini Run - Complete $1.99

I went to Goodwill to drop off a microwave and some other housewares I replaced with this year's Black Friday sale and inside the store, I found and purchased a sealed PS2 network adapter for $7 and a $1 VHS of Transformers the Movie to replace my busted-up tape.

Feels good man.

LOL A beeper. That's from the era when cell phones were still a luxury and very few people had them.

I really wish we could go back to those times though, since I can't even count how many accidents I've nearly had with idiots who are too busy yapping on their phones to notice I'm in the lane they're trying to get into without looking.

halfpricehaul.jpg

I picked these up today at Half Price Books. Each was 3 bucks and in pretty good condition. I used to have these games as a kid so it's nice to have them for the collection.

Oh Fighting Force! That game that was supposed to reinvigorate the "brawler" back in the PS1 era. You can beat up anybody with anything! See a stick of beef jerky! Hit it with em' Randy Savage style. Grrrr. Slam it to a Slimmy!

LOL yeah. IMO, Fighting Force 1 was a lot better. I remember putting a lot more time into that one.

saw a Leapster 2 handheld system layin in the cable tub at Goodwill and it turned on and stuff and it was marked $9, didnt know those were $50 new. kinda wish i picked it up. probably could at least double that on CL or Ebay.

I saw a Didj and some games/carts for it at a SA near me. I think they wanted like $20 for it.

At Salvation Army today, found 5 Master System games. Looked around for the console but I don't think they had it.

SpellCaster
Zaxxon 3D (no 3D glasses unfortunately, plus it's a gun game)
Reggie Jackson Baseball
Great Basketball
California Games

Bought 'em all since I've never seen any SMS games. All are in great condition with manuals and posters.

They had a ton of Dreamcast sports games too, NHL/NFL/NBA etc 2k1, and also Virtua Tennis. Passed on all that.
