wats going on with the tomb raider book
What do you mean? If you mean the art book, it's not released yet - Amazon has the date as 3/18.
It's $75+$3.99 shipping direct from Titan, through Amazon.
Oh shit. I was buying from their site. Didn't realize they had it too. Thanks! Love you forever.

Found that out the hard way. Spent $300 on three books from Titan. They still shipped from the US even though I was originally charged in GBP. Titan only sells through amazon in the US.

Ouch. Rough.

I had to do a chargeback with pix n love as well. They fulfilled my wholesale order, but didn't cancel my other order.

I sent out a very tiny imperfect Sonic to the last CAGer beacuse my damaged one came late in the mail. I still have the Sonic CE with the med damage on the top spine (no tears, just a hard knock) for my cost of $30+5 media mail/packing if anyone is interesting. Otherwise i'll toss it on ebay.

Received my Dead Space LE art book direct from Titan yesterday. The slipbox texture is different from other Titan LE books, it's a velvet-y feel.

^ So besides the slipcover & possible cover art, is there any difference between these artbooks & the non limited ones
Like paper quality or inside content?

Not that I'm aware of. You're paying $50 for the alternate cover, slipcase, and signed lithograph. A steal in my eyes.

Randomly came across this. Not sure what it is just yet... but it is a hardcover from BradyGames. (Not yet available on Amazon.)

CAPCOM 30th Anniversary Character Encyclopedia - $10.79 at Barnes & Noble

*Judging from the retail price, this could be a small sized book.

Ugh...Amazon shipping fucking pisses me off. I received three art books yesterday (Art of Bioshock Infinite, Art of Brutal Legend, and Art of Borderlands 2). All 3 books have damaged corners.

Time to get replacements.

1 in 20 items of this nature gets returned. You'd think they take more care by now

My Bioshock Art Book & Guide arrived yesterday from Amazon, and the art book was damaged. Yeah, I have returned several books to them this year, and between return shipping cost and whatever other cost they incur, I can't see the profit in this, but I guess with their volume, it doesn't matter to them.

it would be nice if the Monster Hunter book wasn't horizontal like the first one, but from the looks of that picture it's going to be the same

Come on Udon! Translate/print in English the Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors/Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward art book.

I don't feel like paying about $50 for an artbook that I can't read the text.

More topic. Thinking about getting that Capcom 30th Anniversary art book.

I've still got a good few artbooks that I need to get it; it's getting to be rather difficult to stay up on all these.

At the very least, none of these seem to be rare or going out of print like older artbooks... but they also don't go on sale (besides the usual Amazon discount), which kinda sucks.

Out of curiosity why does everyone here love art books so much?

Obviously they are amazing but I was curious how they are used?

Do you guys simply love collecting them? Coffee table? Conversation piece? Just looking through them? Art reference?

I am an animator myself and use them as references all the time. It is so great to have so many different amazing artists at your fingertips. Plus I then can always rationalize buying art books as some sort of work expense : p

Animator here too. Same reasons :)

Hey Guys,  I'm in Canada and just received my Art of Final Fantasy slipcase edition today.  I was shocked.  I ordered it from chapters/indigo .ca     Did the date change?  It shows still as pre-order on both US and CDN sites.   In the unboxing video it mentions July 17th as a revised date.

Did they screw up and send me it early?

I often get books a week or so before their publish date. It doesn't seem like book publishers are as stringent on street date as, say, game or movie publishers are.

Related to this, it looks like Udon pushed back the Bayonetta art book to November according to amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1926778421/. Was looking forward to getting it this month too.

For those who had the autographed Brutal Legend art book order pending:

Sorry for the delay! Double Fine is currently in the process of transitioning their order fulfillment and customer service to Fangamer. We're currently expecting to have your order shipped off within the next couple of weeks (we're still waiting to receive the signed slipcases from Double Fine). We'd also be happy to process a refund for your order if you'd like. Thank you very much for your patience, and please let me know if you have any other questions!

FYI, Amazon's release date is bullsh*t. Here's a post from Udon (http://www.udonentertainment.com/blog/udon/a-quick-note-about-book-dates/). According to their schedule (http://www.udonentertainment.com/blog/schedule/) the Eyes of Bayonetta is still TBD.

According to Amazon, Persona 4 Arena Design Works has been pushed back to 2014.  I'm just going to cancel my preorder and wait until the book is in stock.
