Sega sent out a press release about upcoming VC titles:
Sword of Vermillion
Vectorman
Sonic Spinball
Beyond Oasis

BO (the game, not the odor) is freaking awesome -- a great action/RPG that's between Zelda and Secret of Mana. I'll definitely be getting it, though something tells me it may go into 1000 point territory.
What's Goemon all about? I've never played it.
Well, it starts when Goemon's friend, Ebisumaru, gets thrown out of a store when he tries to get a discount by doing an erotic dance. Suddenly, they see a huge peach shaped spacecraft fly over Edo castle and overtake it. Upon going through the castle and defeating a boss, a gay back-up singer/dancer (one of three or four, if I remember correctly) tells you that they're the Peach Mountain Shoguns(see my sig), a travelling intergalactic entertainment group who want to turn the wrold into a stage. Think of a Zelda-esque adventure with a huge dose of bizzare and you have Goemon. It's one of my favorite N64 games.

Regarding Goemon, it also has one of my most favorite video game soundtracks *ever.* Glad I picked up the soundtrack when I did, since it's worth a considerable amount now.

Wow. You guys really seem to like that one.

How much different is it compared to "Goemon's Great Adventure" on the N64? I had GGA, and it wasn't anything special.

Very different.

GGA was a mediocre 2D platformer, MN is a 3rd person adventure game, more akin to Mario 64 or Zelda.

Thanks. Maybe I'll take a look at it, though it looks as if GGA got slightly higher review scores. :whistle2:?

Hey, does anyone remember the extremely multi-platform puzzle game Zoop? I really liked that game. Wouldn't mind playing that again :)

How about Pac-Man adventure? Was that the name of the game? LMAO, that game was pretty bad..but kinda good. That's the game that on the cover, Pacman is riding a hanglider?????

the only terrible thing about Goemon on n64, was that fucking song they'd play when you'd get in that huge gay looking robot thing.

Kotaku is saying 800. I guess that is believable. I'm in for Beyond Oasis for sure. Vectorman and Sword of Vermillion are tempting, too. I never did finish SoV...

That part was fucking awesome.

DASH DASH DASH!

Forgive me if this has been said before, but here is my problem with the VC and no set release dates...

I find I never use my points b/c I always think that next week a better game may come out and I will feel like I wasted my points/money last week. So to this day I have yet to download a game...and the worst part is that I don't even know what game I am waiting for. Maybe Star Fox...

Whew...little rant over...

That's a very legite complaint. Seriously. These microtransactions are very very very very impulse buy. Everything is so easy to buy since "oh it's only $5!" "Oh, it's only 200 points", ETC. These things add up lol (thats why I started the Microtransactions thread!)

It's hard to have some willpower with these things..and since you have it, congrats :)

That was the best intro to a game ever. haha. I really loved it, even better than FF intros. Must have had subliminal messages. Freaking amazing.

Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures. I actually sat and finished the entire thing!

At least it had the original Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man as playable games in the arcade.

LMAO, that game was pretty fun if I recall!

The PR just says this: "start at 800 Wii™ Points for SEGA Genesis titles."
in the time you took to type that post you could have done it yourself
Correct. However since I am the OP Id rather not go on an ego trip and ask them to sticky my own thread. Others will and that will work.

I never played this "Mystal Ninja" game, but I do actually remember seeing the cover art at the store. That must of been like 10 years ago. :D

Hopefully this is really going to be released, it looks bizzare as hell (which I like.)

Neo Geo coming to VC?

Japan will see something, at least. And another mystery console.

There was an article a couple months back about Commodore 64 titles hitting the VC.

A mystery other than the MSX?

Bring on the Atari.... or not, I cant really think of too many old Atari games that have held up well...

Whoa. Japan is getting Actraiser in March. :bouncy: :applause:

http://blog.wired.com/games/2007/02/japan_virtual_c.html

There are some other games there, but I don't care. I want Actraiser... NOW!

NES: Lode Runner, Yoshi, Valkyrie's Adventure, Excite Bike, Donkey Kong Jr. Math

SNES: Mystical Ninja, Hercules' Glory 3, Actraiser

N64: Hahaha.

Genesis: Bonanza Bros, Sonic Spinball, Dyna Brothers, Wonder Boy V: Monster World III, Virtua Fighter 2 Genesis Edition, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle, Alien Storm

TG-16: Double Dungeon, Fire Pro Wrestling Combination Tag, Galaga '88, Shockman

Neo Geo, fuck you Nintendo. I mean seriously how do you expect me to balance school, Robots, Learning Linux, Wii games, Wii Virtual Console Greatness and World of Warcraft. Damit, I need more time, lol.

Dear Sega: Stop releasing your garbage shit nobody wants, and let some 3rd parties give us some real gems.

Virtua Fighter 2? Go suck a fat sack full of shit.

I'm just happy to see SE finally getting on board with the VC, though it would be nice to FINALLY SEE AN RPG ON THE VC SOMETIME NINTENDO.

Damn, The VC had been on fire lately, and now we're getting OoT Monday too? I hope we get something else too, since I already have 3 incarnations of OoT as it is.

Just give me Super Mario RPG and all will be well.

Tecmo is on that list up there. I wish they'd hurry and give us Tecmo Super Bowl!

I'm passing on OoT. I have the cart, the Master Quest disc, and the CE disc. And I know I won't go through the entire game again.

Man, I have it on the Zelda bonus disk, but I wonder if it would be better on VC?
All n64 games are running with sharper textures / higher res or something if I remember correctly, so this will be the best looking version of OoT to date.

Glad I sold off all my other copies, can't wait to play this game again.

Should I get OOT since I already played Twilight Princess?

Plus there is talk that you NEED rumble for some features and VC doesn't have rumble. Anyone know what that is about?
Should I get OOT since I already played Twilight Princess?
Why not? They're two different games, just set in the same version of Hyrule with a few tweaks and additions.

I've never understood why they don't make a substitute for the rumble feature.. like make the screen vibrate a little bit depending on the intensity of the rumble.
Why can't we see Sega Saturn on this?
Depends on how much those games could be compressed. Sega might be content to make a mint on the current VC and release Saturn games on the VC V2.0 when a hardrive might be built in or available.

Wouldn't Sega Saturn games be similiar in size to N64 games?
Wouldn't Sega Saturn games be similiar in size to N64 games?
CDs vs. cartridges.

And yeah, for once, we're lucking out relative to other regions. The only "over-priced" VC game was R-Type (I think?), which was a special case. Sim City, LttP, OoT, all cheaper than Japan.
