Hmm.. I don't think I'll end up getting TMNT II. Even if it's $5, the XBLA is $5 and that has 4 player multiplayer.. achievements.. so.. ::shrugs::
Ninja Gaiden is a good one. Just a bitch at the end. :p Took me forever to clear the last stages.
Hold out and hope the SNES Ninja Gaiden trilogy gets released.

Has as much chance to be released as Super Mario All-Stars.

None.

Plus, the Ninja Gaiden Trilogy wasn't as good as the original NES carts... I remember one stage, where there was lightning or something, I think it was in NG 2, they couldn't pull off that trick on the SNES version for whatever reason so they cut out the lightning and just made the stage lighter.

That seems impossible to me.

Believe it:

Unfortunately, the ports suffered from slowdown, unresponsive controls and no credits. Some graphical changes were made that removed parallax scrolling from the backgrounds of the levels. Other graphical changes were made to comply with Nintendo's "Family Friendly" censorship policy at the time (i.e. a pool of blood changed from red to green, and the removal of pentagrams). Fans also complained about the omission of some music tracks (including removing two pieces of music from Ninja Gaiden III, and replacing any use of the first stage music in the Ninja Gaiden II cutscenes with a repeating footstep sound).
C'mon Mario Party! Show up tomorrow!
I'm still waiting for Zelda II for the NES. It has been out in Japan forever and it was listed as being out for the US in Nintendo Power two issues ago. And then they pointed out their error last issue and said it would be out in April yet. So they were wrong twice.

I'm holding out for Mario RPG and Kirby's Dream Course. I mean, good lord, Mario RPG got an ESRB rating before the Wii even came out! This is torture!

hopefully my 3 free Wii cards arrive tomorrow and something hits worthy of splurging a bit on. Any guesses for tomorrow?

I'll just use my afternoon today to will Mario 3 to make a surprise appearance.

I'd take Mario RPG (I've never heard how this game was), but I think I might have to pick up Super Mario Bros, Elevator Action and TMNT with my brand new WII!!!!!!

Also, could we get something in the OP to let you know what games make the classic controller absolutely necessary? Like which games barely work with the GC controller.
Also, could we get something in the OP to let you know what games make the classic controller absolutely necessary? Congrats on the Wii! Where'd you get it? :)

Thanks. Went to TRU this morning (got the tip from cag1138 and called last night). Walked up at 11am, and I was the only one there. Bought the Wii and a points card. Going to Sams Club, and I'm thinking about Super Paper Mario.

I guess I'll just hold off on buying any SNES games until I get a classic then. Now I just need to figure out what all my codes are so people can visit mii. ;)

The CC is a worthy investment for all the non-N64 games on the VC. Get one and enjoy!

I'd recommend checking out Super Paper Mario, Sonic, and of coruse Zelda (if you haven't already played the GC version).

Looks like Hudson is the only company with confirmed release dates so far?

So we got at least Ordyne (TG16) coming tomorrow.

Anyone play it before? Sounds familiar, but my not really remembering it does kind make me wary to pick it up. Still, I like shooters, even "cute 'em ups" like this one. The buy-your-power-up thing sounds interesting...

All I've got to add is that Balloon Fight for NES showed up on the Australian ESRB, as well as a reconfirmation of Super SF 2 Hyper Turbo blah blah for SNES
Where oh where are the new VC announcements? Is no one near their Wii or have they not been listed yet?
They don't show up on the Wii until noon, but usually the press site has them listed by now. Occasionally they're behind though.

The only logical conclusion, then, is that today they will release Super Mario RPG to everyone's giddy delight!

What...another schmup and...thats it? I bet we will get Zelda II and....lets say....Metroid. I am still hoping on seeing Super Mario RPG one of these days....

The last time we had a "surprise" day it was Ocarina of Time correct?

I'm just hoping that this surprise day will exhibit SMRPG just to prove that these surprise days are little drops of awesome.

You know what a big surprise would be?

Goldeneye
Shadowrun
SMRPG
Krusty's Super Fun House
Sam and Max Hit the Road

Okay, someone hop on the shop channel and see what's out there.

Edit: Wow, board's running slow again. First time I've noticed that in quite some time, I think. Unless I just haven't been paying attention.

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
Well Final Fight is kinda fun. $8 fun? Meh no.

But seriously, once Mario RPG comes out me & giz are gonna put up our own hardcore porno up. fuck kissin over this!

Or Mario Party. Will anyone else create a sex tape with me when Mario Party comes out? Or am I going solo? Either way I'm going to do somethin perverted.
New games for today:

Ordyne (TG-16) - 600 Points
Final Fight (SNES) - 800 Points
Mighty Bomb Jack (NES) - 500 Points
Son of a lawyer; they need to release smrpg soon. I have 2400 points in the shop and absolutely nothing is enticing to me at this point.

Do you have a hot sister?

I'll update the OP a bit later...another shitty release week.

Well, this way we all know she's interesting in conversation.

To anyone wondering, you're better off getting an arcade perfect Final Fight on one of the compliations for other systems.

The SNES one is butchered, horribly, and doesn't even include Guy or the entire factory level =O

Though, Final Fight 2 and 3 are awesome so I hope Capcom gets cracking on those, because they cost too much for me to snag the carts.

Works for me, no chance of getting her preggers.

I kid!

dang it. I jsut got my 4000 Wii points from Gaming Lagoon and I was hoping to blow it on something fun, but something I would've have otherwsie paid for. I guess I'll just hold on to them. :p

Surprising that it's all SNES.

I'm also surprised SF 2 and Castlevania IV are on there, and not something like Ocarina of Time.

the only reason I've been playing my wii at nights lately is castlevania iv, and it makes me cry so much at some later parts in the game :[
