So TJ Spyke's (from Wikipedia) always reliable source says three "shitty" games this monday: Double Dribble, an "underwater adventure" game, and a gambling game (probably Vegas Stakes). :(
Nice, assuming I get a Wii sometime soon, Y's I & II on VC would let me finally unhook my PC-engine setup.
I would stop using Magic Engine on the PC ;O

I'm just wondering how large the file will be due to the audio. I hope they don't screw around with that and make it sound terrible to save space :/
I think lilboo will be happy.
yes he is!!!
\\:D/

What's this underwater game? Hmm..
Watch us get Ceasar's Palace.. Actually, CP IS the better game between that & Vegas Stakes.

Silent Scope?
Silent Scope?
If it's The Little Mermaid then I'm gonna have a gay-gasm. That game was pretty fun!
Double Dribble? Never heard of it.

Underwater game. What could that be?

I think we get Bubble Bobble.
Double Dribble is a lame ass looking NES Basketball game.

I sure hope it's Bubble Bobble..But it could very well be Ecco Jr. Bubble Bobble & Vegas Stakes would mean I just spent $13!

Does earthbound have underwater parts, gambling, or sports? surely it must, for nintendo wouldn't be so foolish as to delay it's arrival another week.

No, you spent $13 you ripped off of the CAG community from the various points for offers sites.;)

Double Dribble, Vegas Stakes, and Ecco Jr are pretty much 99% confirmed.

I really hope Vegas Stakes holds up well. I remember playing the hell out of it, and  whenever I would get pick pocketed..which was like everytime I talked to someone..

Hopefully Bubble Bobble & Eternal Champions debut soon....
Of course, I'd LOVE for the original Mario Party to come out...OR POKEMON SNAP!!! Grrrr

It Talked! and it has 6 frames of dunking!!!!! i wont buy it but its nostalgic for it being the first BBall game on Nintendo.

Well I picked up Alien Soldier (it's hard, I need more practice) and Star Fox 64 (which I have very fond memories of but apparently have lost all skill at), but I've mostly been ignoring them since I finally beat that fucking giant-bullet-rushing-at-Saki stage in Sin & Punishment thanks to my purchase of the Classic Controller. I swear it was impossible on the GC controller, mashing that giant unwieldy L button was so slow and painful.

I also added to my list of wanted games, mostly thanks to my new addiction: Youtube video reviews (yes, I know I should be embarrassed).

unreleased/unannounced:

NES:
Startropics 1 & 2 (look interesting, and I have to play any game with banana-in-ear action)
Metal Storm (I watched a video of it and HOLY GEEZ does it look fun. Amazing graphics for an NES game, too)

SNES:
E.V.O (I played this years ago but never really got into it. It's awesome evolution mechanic deserves a second chance, though)

N64:
Mischief Makers (again; played it, didn't finish it. It was fun though, so I'd like to give it another go)
Shadow Man (looks like a mature LoZ)

I went back and played this game not too long ago...and although it was fun at first, it really pisses me off because it's like you have to start all over again everytime you get to a new level.

Working today. Will have the OP updated around 3:30-4:00. Usually EXStrike or Plinko are good for getting the press release to you guys around 8am. Enjoy your Vegas Stakes everyone :D

That game is awesome. I picked it up complete for 2 bucks when I first started "collecting" games. It was one of those WOW moments that made me realize there were hidden gems out there waiting to be found. Metalstorm is awesome because of the gravity mechanic, which leads to some difficult puzzles.

Definaltely one of my favorite NES games. I hope it comes out for the VC.

Check out my pic for the cover of the game.

WII-KLY UPDATE: THREE NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Nov. 26, 2007
Let's hope you all survived the long holiday weekend. With all the eating, traveling and family fun, isn't it time to do something just for you? So take a few minutes and do a little shopping from the comfort of your couch, away from the chaos of the malls. This week you can get into a game of hoops, do a little faux gambling or head out to sea with your favorite dolphin friend.

Three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

DOUBLE DRIBBLE™ (NES®, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): DOUBLE DRIBBLE, the first 5-on-5, full-court home basketball game, is pure hoops action at its finest. While still a surprisingly accurate basketball game for its time, the frantic action keeps you on your toes as your players run from one end of the court to the other. Choose from a handful of teams and multiple levels of difficulty as you take on the computer alone or challenge a friend and see who has the better skills. Take the ball and sink shots from locations all over the court, or get in your opponent's face and do your best to block the shot. Better yet, drive the lane and rock the rim to see one of the game's trademark slam-dunk cut scenes. He shoots, he scores!

Vegas Stakes™ (Super NES®, 1-4 players, rated E for Everyone – Simulated Gambling, 800 Wii Points): Feel like taking a road trip to Las Vegas? Let your inner high roller go wild as you try your luck at five different games-blackjack, slots, poker, craps and roulette. Start with only $1,000 in your pocket and play your way through five casinos, each with a different theme and varying limits. But no one wants to gamble alone, right? Not a problem, as you'll be able to choose one of four friends to tag along and offer advice when you need it. Further enhancing the experience is the fact that you'll be presented with a slew of interactions with random casino patrons. Best be careful, though-your choices in these situations could either get you closer to the millions of dollars you're after or cost you a pile of that hard-earned cash. Roll the dice, spin the wheel, hit or stand-do whatever it takes to stake your claim in Vegas and beat the house!

Ecco Jr.™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): The aquatic adventures of Ecco come to life for a younger generation of gamers. Perfect for kids, Ecco Jr. finds our young hero heading out to sea with a variety of tasks he must perform in order to get there. Along with his friends Tara the baby orca and Kitnee the young Atlantic dolphin, Ecco Jr. will interact with sea lions, sea horses and other aquatic life as he makes his journey to the Big Blue. Introduce your kids to the classic series of Ecco the Dolphin titles by downloading Ecco Jr. today.
Worst. VC Week. Ever.
It's bad, but you forget the first update of 2007 - it was Baseball and Urban Champion, if I remember correctly.
(at work,)

Vegas Stakes, YAY!
You all seriously don't know what your missing!!
I forgot it was 4 players
What's good about Vegas Stakes? I'm not really familiar with any of these besides Ecco Jr.

Not to mention the March 25th update that was ROT3K IV and nothing else. At least Star Fox 64 came the week later.

And wasn't there a week in January where we didn't get anything?

All I know it that I've passed up roughly 437 opportunities to get a hard copy of Vegas Stakes for SNES in the last five years for less than $3.00 apiece. I'll be damned if I'll get it for $8.00 on the Wii.

"Duh-bul dwib-bul."

"Vhiss-uhl."

"Twah-vul".

Awesome. Condolences to those that just don't get it. Or that weren't there for it.

OP updated.
Wow, I can't believe I forgot to update the title last week.. my bad. Everything (AND THE TITLE!) are updated!

I'll buy Vegas Stakes later. This is a nostalgia thing. I hope it kept up. If not, feh. I just remember enjoying this game so much back in the day!

All I know about Double Dribble is that your character would go the fuck out of bounds if you got anywhere near the line. To this day, I think that was a retarded move from a design standpoint.

Badumbadumbadum*tweet* fuck I LOST THE BALL AGAIN

Double Dribble is/was ridiculous for the audio alone. Watch this clip, close your eyes, and just listen to the audio.

BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM SWISH BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM WEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM

Man DD was OK back in the day, but I imagine is awful now. Couldnt they have given us Tecmo NBA Basketball with generic players instead?

Do people really expect big titles every week? I completely agree that this week wasn't great (Yes, I'm excited PERSONALLY for Vegas Stakes..but that's just me.)..but remember, we have like 5 more years of releases. We will get some good weeks, don't worry :)

As much as I agree, even this kind of stuff gets annoying after a while. They could manage a really good/wanted good every other week at the worst.

Super Mario RPG and Earthbound are fine examples. That alone would erase weeks of crap.

There's also the fact that the choices for the US have been...odd at best, considering Japan gets MORE games, and BETTER games on a consistent basis.

But eh.

But eh.
One would have said Super Mario Bros. 3 would do that, but that only went down two weeks ago and people have forgotten. I'm terrified what the reaction to VC releases will be once Mario RPG, Earthbound et al are already available. "No Wolverine for NES? Thanks for nothing, Nintendo." I really don't think that there were that many amazing classic games (discounting Square since they won't be releasing anything until they've rereleased their classics on DS).

I'm still on the assumption that there are a shitload more Japanese releases to go through than American, but I'd need to see a complete release list to be totally sure.

Yeah this is true.
But I think I'm kind of an example. When these games are released, there's always a fanbase for some of those games. Regardless of the size, there's SOME fanbase. I know I'm not the only one who is happy about Vegas Stakes ,and yes, we are the minority in this. That's my point. I'm sure some people got real excited for Double Dribble this week! Who knows!

Just think, in the long run ALL OF US should have access to damn near EVERY game we want (of course, within reason), regardless of how shitty/great they are.

I really wish we had access to pure sales numbers.

I mean I am very curious who the hell bought Volleyball and Wrecking Crew. I can't imagine those being worth the trouble to upload.

I mean, I can't see anyone saying - ever - "Hey man, you wants to throw down in sumdat Wrecking Crew? Shit is awesome."

I'm aware someone in this thread said they liked the game, by the way. :p

I pity the poor, misguided souls who busted a nut over China Warrior.

Now that I think about it, why do we have Volleyball and Double Dribble before Baseball Stars, arguable the greatest baseball, if not sports game, of all time?

Yes! Instead of seeing the top 20 in the Wii Shop Channel, it'd be nice to know what's selling frequently (besides the Mario Games ) But I'm sure, SOMEONE was excited! And I'm sure there's quite a bit of people who were :applause: and bought that, or Volleyball.. or both!

See above! I'm sure that update made a FEW people smile.

This stuff reminds me of the holidays. You have to make sure you appeal to EVERYONE now!

Well, seeing Double Dribble on the VC is just one step away from one of my favorite NES sports games from Konami: Blades of Steel. I would get excited over that one.

I really want to see NCAA Basketball from the SNES days. That game was a blast. And NHL Stanley Cup.
