Thought that sounded familiar. Ok, I remember talk about Sin & Punishment being localized. Could be interesting, now time to go to research on that game. Wonder if 1000 points will be worth it..?

I'll finally get to play Sin and Punishment.
I remember trying to import that years ago.

I was really too young then, that kinda stuff was over my head.
But it was fun reading GameFan and ogling the import stuff in the back.

Oh, wow!

I heard of Sin & Punishment, but I never really..looked into it? This looks pretty cool!

Well, if they don't delay us like they did last week.. we got about another 1/2 hour until they release the info of today's games.

The only thing confirmed is Bonk 3. I read up on this last night, did anyone else know that Bonk 3 is a co-op 2 player game? Kinda cool..but it was one of them insane co-op games that if Player 1 dies..player 2 dies also..and vice versa. Was Bonk 2 like this? I never read anything on it..maybe I'll do that while I'm just sitting here.

C'mon Vegas Stakes!

Oh we got FOUR games.

WII-KLY UPDATE: FOUR NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Sept. 3, 2007

Everyone believes education is important, even apes. To celebrate the back-to-school season, Donkey Kong Jr.™ Math is now available on the Wii Shop Channel. It'll help you get those math skills back in shape after their summer slumber. After that, there's still plenty of adventure, treasure seeking and a never-ending supply of bad guys to fight. Good thing it's a holiday today, huh? Enjoy.

Four new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii™ owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Adventure Island (NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 500 Wii Points): A mysterious tropical paradise known as Adventure Island is the setting for this side-scrolling action game. The evil Witch Doctor has kidnapped Tina, the true love of Master Higgins. To save her, you must safely guide Master Higgins through eight perilous stages - including dense forests and creepy caves - while defeating all of the enemies in your path. Each area is made up of four rounds filled with enemies determined to stop you in your tracks. In addition, as time passes, Master Higgins's vitality is automatically drained. To keep going, he must eat constantly by grabbing fruit, milk and whatever other goodies he can as he races toward his goal. Sometimes eggs containing miraculous items like axes to throw at enemies or honey that grants temporary invincibility will appear. Use items skillfully to help you clear the areas. At the end of each area you'll face the Witch Doctor, who you must defeat to advance. Go, Master Higgins, go!

Donkey Kong Jr. Math (NES, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Learning can be fun, especially when you play along with Donkey Kong Jr. Practice addition, subtraction, multiplication and division by directing Junior, a cute little monkey who must climb up and down vines to collect numbers and math symbols to solve the math problems his father gives him. Compete with a friend in a race to solve problems in Game A or add more challenge with Game B. Of course, you can also practice on your own. This game is perfect for younger players who are looking for a fun and easy way to develop their math skills.

Landstalker: The Treasures of King Nole™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone - Mild Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points): After hearing of the legendary treasure of King Nole, the elvish treasure hunter Nigel undertakes a quest to gather various pieces of the famed loot. His journey takes him through Mercator Island's villages, caves and dungeons that hold King Nole's riches. Along the way, he'll have to help the inhabitants of the island while fighting against the treachery of Duke Mercator, who is searching for the treasure as well. A variety of obstacles and foes will try to deter Nigel, who must use all his wits and skills to defeat Duke Mercator and uncover the secret of King Nole's treasure.

Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure (TurboGrafx16, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone - Comic Mischief, 600 Wii Points): The hard-headed hero is back for more side-scrolling action in the third installment of the popular Bonk series. It's up to Bonk once again to thwart the plans of the relentless evil King Drool. There are seven rounds scattered throughout the Dinosaur Kingdom, each one filled with fun contraptions and comical enemies. Grab a Flower Copter or exchange 16 Smileys at the end of each round to play up to eight different bonus stages. Or you can change the size of Bonk by grabbing the new red or blue candy items. Depending on the situation, you can change your size to bonk your way through a dead end or to get a hard-to-reach item. And if that's not enough, you can grab a friend and put your heads together to defeat King Drool in the new two-player mode.

Cool 4 games. Has that happened before?

Adventure Island might be an eventually purchase for me. DK Math feels like filler. Landstalker looks really great, very Zelda-ish. I may pick it up but I'd get Beyond Oasis first. Bonk 3 looks like more of the same. I will consider if after looking more into the co-op, but I haven't even finished the first one yet.

Few times. Last time I remember we got 4 games when they made a big stink about Zelda II being the 100th game on the VC. They may have done another one after that, but that's the last time I remember them doing this.

Landstalker is an absolute must-buy. It's a little tricky playing from the isometric viewpoint, but I liked this better than Zelda 3 back in the day.

The puzzles in Landstalker are hard as nails. Although I played it back in like 1995 so my help options were limited. I wound up getting stuck.

Landstalker is one of the few games the Genesis had that could stand up to the SNES. And since I haven't seen it on any compilations lately, I'll go ahead and pick it up. Pretty brilliant little isometric 3D Zelda-like game.

Anyone who likes it would do well to get a copy of Alundra on the PSOne. Same people behind that.

As for DK Junior Math. For fuck's sake.

Has Sega allowed any game other than ones they made to be released for the Genesis under the VC? I'm getting seriously annoyed that I havent been able to try out the other Splatterhouse games.
Is Landstalker related to the DC game TimeStalker?
I believe so. I want to say Climax Landers (wiki is telling me "Climax Entertainment") is the developer, and that they made Landstalker, Dark Savior (Saturn), and Time Stalker.

Supposedly there's a PSP remake of Landstalker in development. I wonder if that is still coming.

Fyi, played around with the OP. I put the past few months under spoilers so it doesn't look all big and cluttered. Changed a color or 2 around..nothing much nor exciting. But it made my day

Should of done this earlier.. meh!

Donkey Kong Jr Math ... with some guys voice.. ugh

Ahh.. Adventure Island gives so many good and yet bad memories.. ::cringes::..Is NEW Adventure Island for TG16 the same game..with better graphics..? Can anyone clear that up for me?

Also, I may have to eventually pick up Bonk 3. The graphics look a lot better then the first game!!

I noticed these games on the ESRB website...nothing specactular.. but still..
Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers
Vegas Stakes (YAY!!)
Super Turrican
Super Turrican 2

I don't think anyone has mentioned these. So.. looks like another Street Fighter soon? Europe got Vegas Stakes last week..so..we will probably get that soon also.

yay! I loved Landstalker (although some of the isometric jumping puzzles suck ass). I'm getting it. Can't wait for Super Turrican. Wish they'd bring out Space Megaforce...it's not like they don't like shooters on VC...
I know one game I want from VC, and that game is Target Earth....b/c I never passed it...XD
Keep pressing start on controller 2 when entering the 1st mission.
Invincible!

I'll never forget that.
Is Landstalker related to the DC game TimeStalker?
They're made by the same company and feature the same protagonist (as does the utterly kick-ass Dark Savior on Sega Saturn). Not sure about any other similarities.

This week Europe got:
Crack Down
ESWAT: City Under Siege
Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Shining in the Darkness
Sonic the Hedgehog 3

They got FIVE games! What the hell?! ALSO, they got FIVE Genesis games too! We should be getting Sonic 3 any week now. I'm guessing ours will come Monday?

Also this week, Japan got:
Battle City (NES)
Mach Rider (NES)
Golden Axe III (Gen)
Legend Of Hero Tonma (TG16)
Override (TG16)

They ALSO got 5 games! Nothing really that exciting, IMO.

Here's to Sonic 3 and Vega Stakes :)bomb:) on Monday!

We got 4 this week, man. There's just no pleasing some people.

If you want to see regional disparity, I'll raise you Japan's 113+ downloadable PSX games on the PSN, compared to 12 in the US (and only one of them has been released since early June).

I see you used your trump card ;)

Well, complaining about what the VC gets is like watching Augustus Glump throw a temper tantrum in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, while the PSN is like what Charlie Bucket's family has for dinner every night.

A trump card, perhaps, but not a trump card I'm happy about. Anyway...on with the VC talk!

I don't like it when Myke makes me laugh. It is a weakness, worthy of comparison to Samson losing his curly locks.

Also I can't tell if munch is confused or being sarcastic.

On topic: Sin and Punishment has been rated for Europe. That's one step closer to rated for us.
Sweet.

Speaking of Treasure, they're showing off a new DS game in a few days.

You know what the name of the game is? (Crystal Method just popped in my head)
Im still waiting for hell to freeze over and them to announce The Secret of Mana
It will have to wait until after the DS remake.
I really like getting an e-mail about this monday's new releases on friday. That's great Nintendo!
Yea thats crap. Nintendo would probably see a signifcant rise in sales if they just sent out a blue light every Monday morning as a friendly reminder new games are out. With all those casual gamers, they need all the reminders and notices they can get since they don't follow gaming news.

When are we getting SMRPG?

(No one has said that for awhile, so I just couldn't resist. ;) )

Speaking of unreleased games, any news on when we might get Neo Geo games?

IIRC Japan is getting them now or very soon.

Jeeze, Neutopia II already?! Meh.
Let's see..Sonic 3 has been out for like 2-3 weeks in Japan, Europe just got it..so that's a good possibility for tomorrow. I'm going to say it because I want it--Vegas Stakes!! But then there's Wrecking Crew for NES..maybe even Golden Axe III?

Who knows! Maybe we'll get a random surprise of Super Mario Bros 3.. Or Kirby Superstar for all we know :)

At least we know we can't get DKJr Math anymore :applause:
