Well, looks like the whole Mario Platformer games are now available....and a happy owner of all of them

Super Mario Bros, Lost Levels, 2, 3, World, and 64

Anything else I forgot and don't say Super Mario RPG, lol :)

The only other one we are missing is Yoshi's Island. Yes, it DOES count
After that... um. Yeah, that's it for the platformers.
Then there's RPG and the sports/party titles.

Mario Party 1-3 (Really can't wait...), Tennis, and Golf all for the N64.

Then you have games like.. Mario Is Missing..Sadly, I do have a feeling that a game like that WILL be added eventually. Sigh.

I remember playing the PC/MS-DOS version of Mario is Missing back in the day. I probably still have it lying around in the attic or garage at my parent's house. It was fun (and I guess educational) playing it as a kid.

I purchased Alien Soldier. Probably won't get around to playing it for a couple weeks (like Sin and Punishment).

Oh yeah! Also known as Super Mario World 2...but I didn't own that game when I was a kid...maybe I was enjoying Super Metroid too much :p

That game would've been released instead of Yoshi's Story

I wish they would let you play online against people in tecmo super bowl when it comes out.
Easily one of the best games on the NES. Games like that and the original mariokart need to be given the online treatment.
Thank God the Wii has the VC, all the games I have are badass. Paper Mario destroys the 1000 year door and Sunshine into pieces. Next up is Gunstar Heroes!!!
Today's Japanese releases:
* Ganbare Goemon (Famicom, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
* Ecco Jr. (Mega Drive, 1 player, 600 Wii Points)
* Cho Eiyuu Densetsu Dynastic Hero (PC Engine CD-ROM, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
* The King of Fighters '94 (Neo Geo, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)

boy nintendo of america can suck my ass with these VC releases.......

first river city ransom...and now King of Fighters...

Boy i really want to blow them up right now.....
King of Fighters 96 and up are the only games worth your money in that series.
I was a big fan on '95 back in the day but my god was the computer ruthless. I do like the simplified supers on the later games, some of the stuff they want you to do in '94-'95 to do a desperation move would be more or less impossible without a joystick.

Ok. I saw information on Bubble Bobble DS..and I said "Ohhh I loved Bubble Bobble!"

So I went to the ESRB website..did a search and well..Bubble Bobble came up under the system "Wii". Has this been there for a while?? Did I just make some new discovery? Does this mean that Bubble Bobble can potentially be headed to the VC soon ?!

EDIT: Also looks like Wrecking Crew and Ninja Gaiden III have been added recently.. :whistle2:k

I wouldn't put much into games that have been recently added to the ESRB site. I know Pro Wrestling has been on the list since like the beginning of the year...and we still haven't seen it. :(

I have king of fighters 95 on mvs and it is the only fighting game I can't get passed the third match. Pure Evil, that game is. 96 has the BOSS TEAM

SMRPG was on ESRB before, then it disappeared.

Axelay (SNES) and Volleyball (NES) are confirmed for tomorrow by the source on GAF.

The other game is a NEO-GEO game, which I would assume is either Blue's Journey or KOF '94. Probably Blue's Journey.

Yes Blues Journey is great news. I don't know why they bother with those other half star titles. Bring on Super Mario RPG, Last Blade and Neo Turf Masters!!!

Dear Nintendo,

Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars being released on your Nintendo Wii Virtual Console would make my holiday.

Thank you.

Love,
Rocko

AXELAY!!! It would be so awesome if they posted the box art with the guy playing the banjo.

I'd say pretty good.

Nintendo's been pretty ok with big releases recently. Before MP3 came out, we got all the Metroid games. Obviously, we got SMB3 last week, before Galaxy.

So, yeah, I'd say it's almost a definite.

True..and I understand not all Nintendo games are big releases. But they already released Mario Kart 64. They could of waited until Mario Kart Wii was ready. Also, why not Mario Party when 8 came out? Paper Mario came out around the time as Super Paper Mario. So right there shows it's not just HUGE releases (such as Metroid or Mario)

But I'd like to see this happen..but..who knows!

Hmm... without checking into it, I'm pretty sure that Paper Mario came out a while after Super Paper Mario. I might be wrong, though.

I was just sort of going by the trend since Metroid's big 'month' of stuff. Plus, SMB3 sort of came out of nowhere.

In terms of Kart, my guess is that they didn't want to wait that long. After SM64, Kart is arguably the biggest 64 game they could've released, aside from ones that aren't possible (GoldenEye).

*EDIT- Paper Mario came out on VC July 13th, almost exactly 3 months after Super Paper Mario was released. I was bored, sorry.

Interesting. If I were Nintendo I would give everyone a free NES game, something on the lower end like Baseball or Soccer or maybe a pick 1 from a bunch type thing. Maybe an incentive or a reward for long time Wii owners.

WII-KLY UPDATE: THREE NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL

Nov. 12, 2007
Winter vacation may be weeks away, but there's no need to wait for a fun-filled escape. The latest additions to the Wii™ Shop Channel can take you to places as familiar as a gymnasium or as fantastical as faraway planets. Fans of sports games, space-age shooters and intergalactic action will all find something to love in this week's lively lineup.

Three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Volleyball (NES®, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Step onto the court in one of the first volleyball games ever made. Select either the men's or women's competition, choose from one of eight available countries to represent, and prepare for some intensely fun game play. The straightforward controls include all the moves you'll need to effectively direct your six-person team. Take some time mastering them in the training mode, though, because you'll need all the practice you can get when competing against challenging computer opponents. If you feel like some multiplayer action, take on a friend in the two-player mode and see whose skills are more polished. Block, set and spike your way to victory.

AXELAY® (Super NES®, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence, 800 Wii Points): Mysterious aliens have invaded the Earth-like planet of Corliss, slowly draining the planet's resources. Take control of the prototype Axelay ship and use its wide range of advanced weaponry to battle enemy forces. Play through multiple stages of action —from other planets to space stations — all on your way to destroying the alien headquarters. You are Corliss' last line of defense, so be careful not to be too distracted by the excellent graphics (including great scrolling effects) and rocking music. Pilot the Axelay using Konami's famously tight play control and experience what many consider to be a classic of the shooter genre.

BLUE'S JOURNEY (NEOGEO, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone – Comic Mischief, 900 Wii Points): The planet of Raguy has been invaded by the Daruma tribe, changing it from a beautiful and peaceful place into one filled with pollution. Released in 1991, this horizontally scrolling action game tells the story of an insectarian named Blue and his quest to save the planet and keep its inhabitants from being turned into slaves. Use Blue's main weapon, a leaf, to flip enemies onto their heads and then throw them at other members of the Daruma tribe, defeating anyone in your way. Additional weapons, such as bombs and boomerangs, are also available, or you can collect flowers to purchase other special items like honey or swim fins. Blue also has the special ability to change his size at will — if he's too big to fit in a particular area, then shrink him. The bright, colorful graphics, combined with lots of hidden items to find, ensure an enjoyable experience with plenty of replay value. Help Blue muster all his strength and eliminate the Daruma tribe.

Like it was any shock this week
So I wonder how these games are getting leaked? We never had any idea on what games were coming out that week until the official press release...but lately we've been finding them out a day or 2 before. Hmmm :whistle2:k

Oh well. Enjoy your games!

The source reviews these things on a website, so he/she was able to sign up for Nintendo PR. PR gets the press release to said source a day or two before the actual release of the games on Monday.
The game you're thinking of was actually called "Phalanx."
You're right, my bad.

Axelay is a REALLY good shooter, though - I do remember that!

RD

I bought Axelay SNES mint/complete on eBay this summer. Still haven't played it. Don't regret the decision, but I'm glad more people have the chance to play it.

I still have to download Alien Soldier. In 2002 around Tokyo Game Show, my buddy paid about $185 for the Mega Drive version. I also want to get both Neutopias (loved the first on TG-16). I just don't play VC games much when I download them...

Axelay, right on. I'll wait til Payday Friday to get it.

Nintendo Sports Theme music ftw. (Volleyball has the same music for Baseball, Tennis, etc.)

I don't know about anyone else..but I kinda hope they don't give us anything TOO great in the next few weeks.. lots and lots of games coming out this & next week...!

But I would like Bubble Bobble & Vegas Stakes. I also need to get Mario Bros 3..:whistle2:k

You haven't gotten Mario 3 yet? You buy almost everything the XBLA or VC spits out, don't you?

You're no longer fit to run this thread! ;)

 I'll get to it! I will, I swear. I just had a crap load of other games to play through. But it'll happen. I'm also NOT trying to download that many games lately.. because I don't wanna be hard to shop for when it comes for the Secret Santa thing. I already have a ton of games..so I may not DL something for a while. But one way or the other.. SMB 3 will be mine :)
*regains thread authority again*
Says the person with OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAND Wii points.
 Well it's not saving points.. I'm actually running out of blocks. I have less then 200 blocks now. I know I know..I can delete them or put them on an SD card..but still. That..and I have lots of other things to play right now :)

I'm in the same boat, plenty of points, but only 40 blocks left until I beat a couple of games and dont mind deleting them for awhile

It boggles the mind that Nintendo hasn't released a hard drive yet seeing as how this seems to be a fairly universal complaint among VC fans. They could even do it ala Microsoft where they charge a relatively high amount for a smallish HDD (maybe something like 30 gigs for $99). It seems like their profit margin would be big enough to justify the minimal development costs involved.

I refuse to buy an sd card. My parents thought wii was pronounced the Nintendo Why.
Playing Dokey Kong Country 2 with the wavebird feels horrid. Time to buy a classic controller. Where is the best buy on it and the sd card?
