I refuse to buy an sd card. My parents thought wii was pronounced the Nintendo Why.
I think its about time I get to play the original super mario 2 for the first time.
why not buy an SD card...they are cheap as hell right now!

Does anyone else's SMB3 have some weird graphic glitches? The left side of my screen has an overscan and the right side flickers with images that are upcoming. This is the only VC game that is doing that for me; all the others work fine?
I don't know about anyone else..but I kinda hope they don't give us anything TOO great in the next few weeks.. lots and lots of games coming out this & next week...!

But I would like Bubble Bobble & Vegas Stakes. I also need to get Mario Bros 3..:whistle2:k
That depends, would you consider Pro Wrestling to be TOO great??
If so then no I don't agree, if you consider it lacking and fitting to your description here, then sure, I just want fuckin' Pro Wrestling, is that too much to ask????

Yeah, it happens on mine as well, but I clearly remember this happening on my NES version as well.
Is the classic controller ever going to go wireless? DKC 2 and alien soldier are going to make me buy a classic controller.
No, its wireless via the Wiimote, so the best you can do is get one of those third party grips that attaches the Wiimote to the back of the CC via the clips.

Hey, have any Data East games made it over to the US? I heard Atomic Runner is going to be released either in Europe or Japan (can't remember), and I'd love to play that, not to mention Shadowrun (if that doesn't bring up licensing issues, which I guess it would). Also, I know Sega CD isn't announced for the VC, but:

Advice: Do not plan on holding your breath.

Good Morning :)

Nov. 19, 2007

Wii™ celebrates its first anniversary today, and big stars from past consoles are coming out to help Nintendo celebrate. Luminaries walking the Virtual Console™ red carpet this week include Mario™ and Luigi™, Sonic The Hedgehog and Zonk. So throw on your best tuxedo or finest gown, and get ready to party with these video game A-listers.

Three new classic games go live at 9 a.m. Pacific time. Nintendo adds new games to the Wii™ Shop Channel every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points™ to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:

Wrecking Crew™ (NES®, 1-2 players, rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): In the days before Mario and Luigi became sports stars in their downtime between plumbing and saving the Princess, they tried their hands as one-man wrecking crews. With a hammer as their only tool, players take control of the brothers and set out to destroy ladders, rip out pipes, knock down walls and detonate explosive devices. But make sure to plan your path of destruction carefully, as each building is designed as its own clever puzzle—if you're not careful, you can easily trap yourself in a dead end. Adding to the excitement and challenge are fireballs, enemies and an angry foreman roaming the buildings. They're all trying to stop you from moving on to the next stage. With 100 buildings to demolish and the ability to construct your own, it's a wonder Mario and Luigi ever got back to saving the Mushroom Kingdom.

Sonic 3D Blast™ (Sega Genesis, 1 player, rated E for Everyone, 800 Wii Points): The evil Dr. Eggman (aka Dr. Robotnik) stumbles upon an alternate dimension where some odd birds called Flickies have the ability to travel anywhere. In order to get help in his search for the Chaos Emeralds, Dr. Eggman transforms the Flickies into robots that will help him track down his coveted gems. Of course, it's up to our favorite blue hedgehog, Sonic, to step in and save the day. Jump into this 3-D adventure as Sonic or his buddy Tails, and collect the golden rings to help free the Flickies and defeat the doctor.

Super Air Zonk (TurboGrafx16 CD-ROM, 1 player, rated E for Everyone – Mild Cartoon Violence, 800 Wii Points): Zonk is back in Super Air Zonk, the sequel to the shooting game spin-off of the Bonk series, Air “Zonk.” Now moving to a rockabilly beat and able to transform into nine different characters, Zonk lets loose through seven action-packed stages in another battle against his arch nemesis, SandroVitch. Power up Zonk with the classic Meat item, eventually turning him into the champion of justice, Ultra Zonk, or the fearsome Tyrano Zonk in the latter stages of the game. After rescuing his friends from enemies, Zonk can also morph with them to combine powers. Fight enemies with killer tunes belted out from a trusty microphone. Hurl freshly made sushi at them. With its variety of wacky attacks, Super Air Zonk has a sense of humor all its own.

Well there you go. These 3 titles are representing the Wii's 1st birthday. Not TOO exciting, IMO, but Wrecking Crew always interested me. Anyone have impressions of it? What bout Sonic 3D Blast??
I'll have to play the first Air Zonk, since that looks good. So I guess not a bad update, just not exciting

Sonic 3D Blast is garbage compared to the other Sonic games out on VC already. Not worth the points, IMO. Seems like another meh week, although I hear good things about Wrecking Crew.
Too bad they didn't pipe in any excitement for the anniversary. Guess we'll have to wait for Christmas Eve for any more of that.
Agreed. I see what they did there, and I appreciate the effort.
They SHOULD of waited and released Super Mario Bros 3, Sonic 3, and Bonk 3. :)

Yes?

Nintendo never does anything exciting...since they're well known and in the business for so long, they do less marketing but make alot of money...

Anyways, a meh week for Thanksgiving week.

Oh c'mon, Wrecking Crew wasn't that bad. I was fascinated by it when I was little. I just built easy levels that were fun to destroy very quickly.
weak sauce.

just watch the Japanese get something spectacular again this week.

The VC is getting terrible now!
SMB 3 came out 2 weeks ago.
C'mon, it's not terrible. Yeah, there's bad weeks. So what? You really think there's THAT many *GREAT* games to come out every week, for the next 5 years? Of course not. We need this filler to get to the really GOOD stuff!

Just think; Every week that goes by and we don't get anything really exciting..that's just one week less until we get something fantastic :)

yeah if you look at it that way..sure..but atleast for the one year anniversary they could have wowed us..but we only got more dissapointed by wrecking crew. oh well...ill be optimistic for now.

Lilboo gets me thinking....I hope there's a way to transfer the content to the inevitable Wii2.

It would suck if not. :[

I'd like to think Nintendo isn't that dastardly.

Wii2's VC will most likely have the SAME games + more points. However, they will finally have remakes. Such as Wii controls and Wi-Fi play. Yeah, they'd do that

I guess that would be about the only way to con me into rebuying shit - online play and the like.

Agreed. I loved Wrecking Crew as a youngin, and 2 player mode was alot of fun.

Today's Japanese Wii games:
* Ghosts 'n' Goblins (Famicom, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
* Nuts & Milk (Famicom, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
* Eternal Champions (Mega Drive, 1-2 players, 600 Wii Points)
* A-Train III (PC Engine, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
* Top Hunter (Neo Geo, 1-2 players, 900 Wii Points)

Wooot at Eternal Champions!!
* Nuts & Milk (Famicom, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points)
AO games for VC confirmed?

(sorry, couldn't resist)

So what's on everyone's lists? I'm curious as to what people are looking forward to getting, or hoping to see added. There are tons of things I'd like to see added, so on my list of unreleased games there are only games I've never played before. Here it is, with my reasons for wanting the games:

available:

NES:
Donkey Kong (I guess 5 bucks is kinda pricey, but I love this game)
Kirby's Adventure (best NES game)
SMB3 (actually this is the best NES game?)
SNES:
Donkey Kong Country 2 (already have 1, used to play this with my best friend before she died, so it's pretty special to me)
N64:
Paper Mario (great series, fond memories of this game)
Star Fox 64 (best of the series IMO)
TurboGrafx:
Ninja Spirit (I love the cloning mechanic)
Genesis:
Alien Soldier (It's Treasure. Duh)

unreleased:

Genesis:
Super Thunder Blade (looks fun)
Ranger X (looks awesome)
Atomic Runner (looks awesomely fun, although hard)
Super Nintendo:
Super Turrican (looks like Metroid)
Super Turrican 2 (see above)
I want me some Majora's Mask. One of the very few N64 games I don't own.

Thats about it.
ditto.

are you listening nintendo? no seriously nintendo, put it on the shop channel before christmas, or your getting one very angry guy's letter

Gahhh...I hate Alien Soldier. The playability is just so...not enjoyable. Really wishing you could trade VC downloads with other consoles cause I'm regretting Toe Jam & Earl and Alien Soldier. Can't regret Mario 64 or Sin & Punishment though :) I think from now on I'll stick with the turbografx-16 shmups until I get all of those downloaded :) Blazing Lasers is next, I think that is the name of it anyway.
