Umm. That's sad. I hope parents aren't letting their kids buy that crap.
When I was a kid, sleep paralysis used to scare me, but then I got used to it and it was just annoying.
I would experiment, and see what I could control. I couldn't speak, but could make mild whiny kinda sounds. I could open my eyes and look around and could control my breathing. I could feel things, like if a cat was laying on me. I was never able to tell if I could smell things (or I never noticed any smells) and I could hear fine. I always found it interesting, trying to figure out what parts of the body the brain controlled...
I could eventually wake myself up by trying to move, but it took a lot of effort; I can only describe it as trying to lift something so heavy that it doesn't budge and then finally gives all at once and I could move again. Or, if I could get pixie to elbow me, that'd wake me up, too. But, if I did it myself, I felt exhausted afterward and would usually fall back asleep after a few minutes.
Like I said, it was more annoying after a while than anything else.
There's a myth that states the devil is on you when that happens.

I haven't done it in awhile. One time was the worse though, cause I had it when I happened to be face down in a pillow. I thought I was going to die that night.
