The ship parts in Tools of Destruction are so good, I just got done with the second one. It looked so good graphically with all the fire and stuff, probably the best looking level in any game ever I've seen. I especially like how you aim with the right stick and control the ship with the left, it works really well.

Nintendo should hire Insomniac to make the next Starfox game so it would actually turn out well.

Still Shivering Isles. I WOULD play Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters, which I picked up at Gamestop, but the damn thing won't play in my PSP.

What's wrong with it? Will it just not recognize the disc or what?
I do think it qualifies for rape, so at least it filled about 50% of the aspect of hentai.
The other 50% is visable insertion, and I was grossly disappointed by the lack of such stimului.

No goddamn clue. I put it in and start it up, and I just get a black screen post-PSP Logo.

Okay, I unlocked Symphony of the Night on Dracula X Chronicles and I played a little bit past the first boss, so not too far... here's my notes on this version of the game:

- Frame rate is better than the PS1 version. This is liquid smooth. I can all but guarantee that all the slowdown in the PS1 version is gone (and the slowdown got fucking bad in the PS1 version.)

- A lot of the sound effects have changed. I don't want to say that's a bad thing, because they're not bad... just different.

- The music sounds at least as good as it did on the PS1 version. All the notes are crystal clear and it doesn't sound compressed or anything. Phew.

- The English voice overs are crap. The Japanese voice overs are thankfully fantastic. The dialog is much better this time around, and it's nice that the game isn't such a joke everytime somebody speaks.

Haven't seen any new items or anything yet, but again, I'm only 10 minutes or so into SOTN. Still, if I had to call it right now... I'd say this is the definitive version of SOTN just because the Jappo voice-overs go a long way, and the frame rate is noticeably better. Considering that SOTN is probably one of my favorite games of all time, if not my absolute favorite, I'm very happy, to say the least.

Oh, and that remakes kewl too... and stuff.

I'll have a real review in a few days most likely.

I had a friend come over and we played lots of games. We played PGR4 for a while, Samurai Warriors 2, Forza 2, and a bunch of other 360 games. We also played some PS3 (mostly Puzzle Fighter and Everyday Shooter). Earlier in the morning, I played Ratchet & Clank: ToD, but I honestly don't want to play more of it (or my other games) until I get back to my apartment (I just can't stand playing them on an SDTV).

Well, I'm in one of those moods to get rid of games again, so I'm planning on compiling a list. At max, it will probably be 50 games out of my 250 in my backlog. I really hope Gamestop runs another special when you trade in PS2 or PSP games or something, because those two will see the most games go (since I have 156 PS2 games and 57 PSP games). I'd like to bring my PS3 down to 120 games, but 140 seems more realistic (too tough for me to give up a few games, despite not playing them much, like the first Shadow Hearts, Dark Cloud 2, etc.). Many will probably tell me I shouldn't go to Gamestop, but I'll go ahead and get raped by them because I just want to badly get rid of games and it will be easy just trading stuff into them (gets it off my hands). Not sure what I'll get, since there aren't many games I really want to buy right now (well, I want EoJ and Beautiful Katamari, but I'll just ask for them for Christmas. I'll get DCX at Fry's. I want AC6, ES, FFT PSP, etc. but I will probably barely play them at the moment). I may preorder Disgaea: AoD for PSP with some credit. I already traded in all the 360 games I wanted to, so now I'm working on PS3. I'm mostly happy with what I have, but Armored Core 4 (I originally really liked the demo, but my friend who had it doesn't have it anymore, so I can't play him online and I hit a wall) and Enchanted Arms (I also got rid of it on 360 once, but the price tag was too tempting for me to try again. Folklore makes me no longer care about it) will probably be the two games to go (I'll probably only make $25 from Gamestop for both after the $10 extra, but oh well). Everything else I'll keep (I already reached 17 PS3 games, and I was hoping to have 15 by the end of the year. Also, getting rid of two brings down my multi-platform game count to 5 (DW Gundam, DiRT, VF5, and NFS Carbon will never go, due to already doing well).

I want Uncharted, but I rather wait for some sale. I really want a Wii most of all, but I could never make the money unless I sold a few rare RPGs (like Tales of Destiny II PS1, Shadow Hearts 1, some Suikoden's maybe, etc.). Time Crisis 4 may be too pricey and I'm still unsure whether I'll get DDR Universe 2 with a pad or not.

Btw, my gamerscore finally reached the 3000 level. Not that I really care or anything, but I feel like I'm finally starting to catch up to many awesome gamers here. :D

Today I played Resistance online with my friend's PS3 and I had so much fun. That game is awsome. Full 32 people in the game. Even when a game only had like 6 people in it, it was still so much fun. Constant killing and intense action. I can't wait to buy this one. I'm not sure why people just shit all over this game, the online was really good.

I'm also playing Digimon World Dusk for DS. I haven't heard anyone talk about it around these parts but it is one of my favorite DS games. Lots of things to do and the game hasn't gotten boring yet.

playing around with my new slim PSP tonight. I like it, though it feels cheap since it's light and made of different plastic. My favorite part about it would have to be the new speaker location. video out is kinda cool. Would be much cooler if there was some kind of a zoom function. Hopefully Sony will add that with an upgrade.

Dracula X chronicles kicks ass but what's with the forced gimp screen for Rondo and SOTN?! At least provide a zoom option you lazy ass devs. I got Wipeout since it was cheap and it's a great game. Killzone is inexplicably still $30 everywhere used (even local stores??) Final Fantasy Tactics is too expensive, but I want it.

That's all! Tired as shit after driving all day and awaiting pizza.

Possum, did you try fuckin' with the screen size option? I think one of the settings gives you a 4:3 window that takes up the entire height of the screen.

Yeah, in the options (on the main screen, not in Rondo or SotN) you can fill the screen vertically and match the ratio horizontally.

No, I refuse to believe you can do that and I will not even check. IGA is lazy, they should execute him! Die Anno!

(okay, I'll check that out next time I fire it up :) )

just made it home from the college fb game and fixing to finish up my paper that's due on monday.

afterwards, i'll prolly play some jeanne d'arc or tales of eternia on the psp, or finish up the few songs I have left in career mode on GHIII

O dam, somebody else who gots Tales of Eternia for the PSP. Nice. Come to think of it, that never did come out in the US. Ah well, I'm just glad it got a European release. Sigh... poor Suikoden I & 2.

well, funny story behind how I got it.

So I was at work yesterday and I was looking at our back room (where we keep our stock of all the PSP, DC, PS1, SNES, NES, N64, GEN, SATURN, and all the other old systems we sell. So I was back there looking through the psp games and I noticed we had eternia right before TotW: radiant mythology and I knew that we didn't sell import games and I didn't know how we got it. So I asked my boss about it and he told me I could have it, greatest day ever!

And yeah, the psp port didn't come stateside, but the original was released in the states as Tales of Destiny II.

Think I might run to Gamestop tommorrow in search of GHIII for 360 sans guitar. Despite the guitar's allure, I already have an Xplorer and I'm going to get the Rock Band Bundle, so....I must resist it and its chewy nougat center.

In guess since you can start the game that rules out the disc being stuck inside the UMD.

Better go exchange it while you have the chance.

PSP version's a bit better than TODII on the PS1 was, IMO, so it's still kinda sad that most people in the US never had a shot at that version.

But again, I don't care about other people. That is a good story about how you got it though... def. lucked out.

my gaming night consisted of Blue Dragon ( around 16 hours into it), playing a bunch of games on Team Fortress 2 :), a little bit of robotron, and finished it up with some Skate

Played a little Zelda:pH just now. I got a long ways to go still. Maybe later I'll play some 360 (Portal most likely, while I'm DL'ing GHIII demo).

just my first thoughts on the whole game, the soundtrack is amazing, much improved over GHII (IMHO) but the "boss battles" are so unnescessary.

I played the first 10 minutes or so of Phoenix Wright 3, and I couldn't really get into it; I guess I'm just a little burnt out on its gameplay. I'm sure I'll start feeling it eventually and play it straight through until the end like I did with PW2.

I started my first Association in NBA 2K8, and I actually lost the first game of the season. It was a surprise, since I'd regularly annihilate the CPU in 2K7 on Hall of Fame difficulty. In my defense, the loss was only by one, I'm using the Blazers, it was against the Spurs, and they exploited a really annoying glitch against me. It's the glitch where intentional fouling doesn't work and instead the player just loses the ball after being grabbed; the Spurs pulled that in the last thirty seconds of the game to gain the lead. I thought 2K would've fixed it with the update that was released recently, but I guess they overlooked it. It's a shame too, because it happens every single time and is really game-breaking.

On the Wii/GC end, I got about an hour or two into Tales of Symphonia, which I'm enjoying a lot, I played some Success mode in MLB Power Pros, and I started Luigi's Mansion, which I'm finding pleasantly decent. I'd never played it before, and it didn't exactly get sterling reviews, but I feel as though it'll be well worth the $6 I paid for it.

Finally, I caved in and bought Lumines Live!, since the price has been lowered to 800 points from 1200. The only Lumines I've ever played was the trial version of Live!, and I really didn't like how Q? was handling the microtransactions with it. However, I did download the Holiday pack, which is 400 points (I think it retails for 600), and I'll probably pick up the other packs once they go on sale. I guess I've fallen into their trap.

Plowed through Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles and unlocked everything... Just started Victorious Boxers Revolution tonight...

Being a huge fan of both the manga/anime series of Hajime No Ippo in addition to the previous games(I've got them all!)... I was VERY pleased with the presentation and gameplay included with VB Revolution... Also at $39... It's a DEAL! Fans of the series definately need to check this game out!

I'm hoping to finish VB Revolution by tomorrow so I can finish up on both Rachet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations...

While out shopping today, I convinced a friend to pick up The Eye of Judgment so we can play together... Cuz honestly, games are more fun when you play with good company(especially competitive games)!

Markman, if you're not a fan of Fighting Spirit, how's Victorious Boxers? I am a huge fan of Fighting Spirit, but I don't want to buy a game based on my addiction to a series rather than because of the gameplay. Also, how's the gameplay with the classic controller? That's the control scheme I'd be using...

Last night I played more Portal, then a little GHIII demo on 360. Then I watched Robocop on Blu-ray, well most of it, while downloading EyeCreate before going to bed. I sure hope FV ships Eye of Judgement to me this week as I really want to try it out. :p

crysis demo = PC getting surprise buttsecks.

maybe the new GTS' will handle it better. not that I'm going to buy it any time soon, but you know, it's the principle

If Gamespot's report is to be believed though, the demo that they played was running well on an 8800 with everything on "full DX10." Whatever that means.

Hopefully the final game will be an improvement...
Got the real ending on the Rondo remake. Great, great game. The final fight is fantastic.
You people need to quit talking about that game otherwise I'm going to be tempted to go out and buy it :p

As a stand alone game, unfortunately I don't think it holds up to Victorious Boxers 2(PS2) aka Hajime No Ippo All Stars in Japan....

Main reasons being, not as many playable characters, and it's pretty barebones compared to the past titles.

But gameplay wise, I think it's really good. They've made some changes that are in the favor of balance/gameplay. Now in order for you to do your crazy super/special moves you have to have your super/special meter at full. The indicator for this is the character avatar, and the flames behind him. When they're at the top, then you can unleash something deadly... Such as the dempsey roll or jolt counter... You have to be careful with your shots too, if you whiff a super/special attack it drains your meter.

Another unfortunate gameplay design flaw, or rather, a personal gripe of mine... Is that you can't change the gameplay view. I loved the old view in previous games so it took a while(very short while) to get used to the psuedo first person perspective(closest to Super Punch-Out!!!'s view scheme but in pure 3D).

But in the end. Solid title. Fan or no fan.

If I were to rate the game on merit, using the traditional 1-10 scale. I'd give it a solid 7/10.

If I were to rate the game for fans, 9/10.

Kameo was a good game. Not great, but it didn't do anything terribly wrong aside from typical rare awful character design and such. There's some really nice epic set pieces in the game, though.

Still slagging though Phoenix Wright 2's last case. I keep falling asleep though after making it home at 3:30 from a halloween party last night. Whee!

I never beat the last case because it was so long and I got bored of it

Someday when I care enough I'll read about the ending.

Played through that entire game in two days.

Well I had finished Phoenix Wright 1 before that, and the games have like...no difference in gameplay that I got bored of it. Too repetitive.

It's been awhile though, maybe I'll go back to it.

Oh, alright then. Yeah, if you play too much Phoenix Wright in a short span, you can get Phoenixed out. I played the original back when it first came out, so I didn't have that issue.

I am a true lawyer.

I wonder how long the Phoenix Wright games will go until the gameplay is changed up...even if just a little to make it more interesting.

I think 3 games like this is fine, but I would like to see something new in the new Ace Attorney game... whoever that new guy is.

Of course, we still need to have copious Objections.
Megaman X. Beat it for like the 10th time today.

This is correct. MMX is a fucking awesome game. I kinda want to play Maverick Hunter X again at some point... either that or finish up X5 and X6 (I loved X5 but X6... not so much)

I think his name is Apollo Justice. But all I really care about is seeing more Ema Skye.
