This guy was banned from Bungie.net - i'm just passing it on *SPOILER inside*

This is what I've been thinking they could do.

What if on Feb. 9, they added a downloadable campaign level that would pick off right where the last level ended.

Then every month or so, they could offer another level but charge everyone a few bucks to get it.

I know this is probably highly unlikely, but it could work. And I know everyone would gladly play $5 to get a new level.

Hasn't this topic shown you anything? All DLC would is make even more bitchy people. Here's the only solution: shoot every whiny fuck dead...

...but that would be "un-ethical" :(

Dude, Bungie already said that there will be no DLC SP campaign, only MP MAPS...

I guess "end the game early" is the new "copy and paste the end levels".

And having only one person get the sword is no better than someone getting a tank and being unstoppable.

And good luck with multiplayer if you can't play it 40 hours a week to get good.
I can totaly understand how he feels about the game.
It was a big disapointment to me as well. The trailers promoted this huge war and in the end all we got was a weak battle.
SPOILERS

Yeah. The trailers made it seem like Earth was in dire shape, and instead it seems like the Covenant pretty much had their asses handed to them hardcore.

They also said there would not be a Halo 3 at one time, so I am not all about taking them at their word right now.

The thing is people would gladly pay more than $5. People would probably shell out another 30 at least for a couple of new levels. It's shitty, but it would work.

Have you played online yet? Noobs play noobs, they have a level system which prevents you from joining games with some 40 hour a week halo 2 fiend (unless you join people on your friends list who are insanely good). I could not play halo 1 on XBconnect because I would be dead within seconds of spawning, Halo 2 adds a learning curve to multiplayer instead of just letting noobs get slaughtered by veterans.
yep, I believe this guy. I wanted "HELL ON EARTH" and I didn't even get a taste of that.
Think of the Halo games like the Lord of the Rings movies. The first one introduces you to the major characters, gives you some nice battles, and could be a stand-alone game in its own right but also leaves room for the sequel.

The second one is a complete middle chapter, with no real beginning and no real ending, and has some bigger battles (like Two Towers did) but is saving the biggest for the third one.

The third Halo will end up being the final war between the Covenant and humans and will be the armageddon that you want. Then, when you play through #1, #2, and #3 back to back, you'll go "WHOA", just like if you were to watch all the LOTR movies back to back.

You could also compare it to Star Wars.

People say video games should be more like movies in terms of their storytelling, so Halo does this, and people complain. I don't get it.

All I know is that Master Chief better not be going to another Halo and try to blow the damn thing up again. It was fun the first time, cool the second but it will be old as shit if they throw it upon us again.

I want the Covenant to bring the fight to Earth.

It was really awesome to see the story with the Covenant and all, but what happens if the Covenant invade Earth but bring the Flood with them?

I'm almos thinking that if this happened, then it will be somewhat like what happened in the second game.

The Flood will be tearing the world to shit and the humans and Covenant may have to join forces to totally kill off the rest of the Flood.

Either that or there's one helluva three-party war with each side wanting everyone dead. That would be pretty cool.

But if that happened and keeping with the theme from the second game, do you think Bungie would let us play as one of the Flood?

People, we need to get our collective butts on the Bungie Forums. Who would know better how to shape the OnLine Multi-player than you good folks at CAG.

I tell you, last night I was on with a few friends and played a bunch of very competitive games. Only to get stuck in a 30 man Rumble Pit. Almost every punk on there was just swearing up a storm. Not only when they got hit like most normal folks. One guy kept using racial slurs through the whole match. I've got a sailor mouth like most, but I keep it clean as much as I can online.

I think Bungie should create a seperate server for folks that are more serious gamers. So we don't have to play with the foul mouthed ill-tempered children of the world. Maybe something for the grown-ups.

Thoughts?

Well, thats why you can have a friends list and, when you get done playing with someone cool, invite them into your party and make your own games.

But in terms of them auto-matchmaking you to adults only? Good luck. I'd say 75% of the Xbox Live userbase is under 16.

I agree, I don't want to fight on another Halo. I think it'd be cool to stick to Earth next time, or maybe go to the Covenant homeworld. I guess the Flood storyline would work - maybe the humans and remaining Covenant make a pact - Flood is invading both their homeworlds and they declare peace as long as they can save both planets. So half the game is as Master Chief saving Earth and half the game is as the Arbiter saving his homeworld.

I think you could maybe be one of the Flood in multiplayer, but I don't see how that'd work in terms of storyline.

I don't want to spoil the ending for anyone, but uh...SPOILER....

There are alliances at the end of the game so they're going to have to touch on that in the next one. Its not like the Arbiter can just turn on the humans who fought alongside him.

You think so? I've been on quite a bit and usually the people sound older. Here in Brooklyn, the line was around the corner for the reserved copies. Everyone in line was over 21.

I have nothing against the young guys. Its just the dumb ones just are annoying and really ruin the experience. I'll take your advice on the friend's list.

See you online (Delta Force 116)
I get asked about her quite often. Michelle Lombardo. She won the fresh face contest for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She's bad!!!
I saw this in another thread so I just answered the question for him.

I'm surprised no one has thought of this:

A lot of times in the gaming business, and in other businesses, if you have a great idea, sometimes you... 'save it', for another day...

Perhaps they changed Halo 2 and made it a cliffhanger so that Halo 3 will the one with the Earth battle?

in the 3rd book, which is supposed to fill between halo and halo 2 video games, that master chief and his crew just about took out the entire convenant fleet that was supposed to be meeting up in space, to prepare for the attack on earth...they had less the 20% of the original force to attack earth...also the previous books stated that master chiefs primary mission was to hijack a convenant ship, head to their homeland, and kidnap a leader, so they could negotiate a peace...I haven't gotten a chance to start the campaign yet, as I have been busy with the live aspect of it...but from what I have read about the game, and have heard from my brother who finished it, it just continues in the story line that has been set up in the books
So, wait, that really hot E3 earth war scene isn't in the game? Good thing I waited on buying this...
No, but the entire first mission is a big extention of that E3 demo. They just changed things around a bit. You still get to do all the stuff they did in the E3 demo.

I think the actual number was far less then 20%. I think its said that Earth is attacked by only 15 or so ships, which Im guessing would be less then 1% of the fleet ment to attack Earth.
Also, some of the events in First Strike and The Fall of Reach would be really cool flashback levels for Halo 3.
I also agree that some of the points in the first post are valid.

Wow, terrible complaints considering both are unfounded.

The commercials really make it seem like it takes place on Earth and even on the back of the case it says He has fought his way back a trillion miles across the void to protect the dearest prize of all. EARTH. So you can see how someone could consider it misleading.

Yep, all they show in the commercial is the first few areas...makes sense from a story standpoint, but when that isnt the whole game, yeah, its misleading.

Its not like Bungie wants to spoil the plot. Im sure the reason that Earth is in all the ads is because its the first place you go.
