I think I'ma pass on SMG now that I got my box back and instead crack open the seal on my copy of SMS that I've had forever if I get a Merry-o itch. $25 is a good deal but I really don't think it's worth all the hassle for me.

im really slow at beating video games, should i still rent AC? i think im gonna go past the due date at blockbuster (unless they still have that "no late fees" thing)

You're a whack ass nigga. This shit blows the pants off Sunshine, and for $25? At least buy it now and sit on it, since you won't see it for $25 for a good while, I'd imagine.

Yeah mang, think about it. If I don't play it now, before SMG, when do you think I'm going to get to it? I've spent an embarrassing amount of money on games and shit in the last 6 weeks so I really need to slow it down. I'm in a pewpewpew mode right now anyways and I just got CoD4 yesterday.

I'm a camel when it comes to price drops on Nintendo games. I'm still (not so anxiously) waiting to get Super Paper Mario for $20ish. I just picked up Paper Mario 2 on Gamecube a couple months back when Circuit City had it for $10.

You don't really need to play it, ever.

SPM was a great game. I never played Paper Mario 2. I've beat Super Mario RPG multiple times, and never beat Paper Mario on the 64, but I do have Paper Mario 2. I bought Paper Mario on the VC and will try to beat it before I go to Paper Mario 2. SPM was a great experience, though.
Finished the first galaxy in SMG.
It was kind of short. Only three stars. The textures on the boss planet

I am so tired...

I was blown away when I found out that today was Wednesday; I thought it was Tuesday.

Yeah, I rented it when it came out and thought it was dollars. Loved the 2D shit, the art style and the writing.

Aw mang, Rock Band is in like a week, too.

After what I've heard about Rock Band, it seems the best part about it is the commercial.

Then again, it does have some neat songs on it.

I'd love to pick it up for...like $100 or so.

I call it. You can make the next OTT.

The only other thing I remember about Rock Band is that they said "if you can play the drums in a song, you can play the song in real life."

I knew that was a steaming load about .2 seconds after reading it.

How is Rock Band bad when it does everything better than Guitar Hero? Harmonix knows what they're doing. Guitar Hero is turning in to Madden but niggas are still all over its' dick.

Because Rock Star is too much -- both in content and price.
Everybody post in the Mike OTT!
C'mon people I have a really kickass idea.

Also even though I have a new tivo en route to my door, I am glad my Tivo Recovered from it's GSOD.
How's Kane and Lynch, Braxt0r?
I don't know yet...

I can really see how it's getting luke-warm reviews.

The gunplay just isn't fun -- the guns feel floaty and touchy, and the hit detection eats ayuss.

The story is a little confusing, in the sense where, as its told, the viewer kind of just has to accept things which aren't explained.

What I'm impressed with, thus far, are the visuals, the characters and some of the story telling mechanics.

I can understand price(I'm splitting it three-ways, I think) but what do you mean 'bout that content?

That's cool about K/L. I saw a piece about in on 1up and thought the graphics were not too hot(I assumed they were keeping things manageable so they could work in online coop easier) but some of the environments looked interesting. Only thing I resented was that they seem to be pushing to 'tude of the characters a little much.

How's the multiplayer?

Yessss.
I bought a cool pipe.

I also tried changing my shirt at Best Buy because they gave me a large and I wear a small, but the damn manager wasn't there.
I work tomorrow. :/

Lynch most definitely has a rotten 'tude, but it's imperative to the storyline.

Rock Band just seems like too much shit, to me. Singing, guitar, drums... I don't think I want all that. None of my friends play video games, so I'd just be playing the guitar... if I wanted to do that, I guess I could just buy Guitar Hero III, or whatever.
How's the multiplayer?
I didn't get a chance to look at it.

Ah, that makes sense. Even in GH3, playing the coop exclusive songs(Sabotage/Helicopter/Reptilla) solo isn't as fun as playing to ones made with single player primarily in mind. Luckily I can gather up another 3 or 4 people easily so it should be a fun experience. Singing is gonna be a bitch since none of us can sing particularly well though. I really want to try the drums too, even if I was a bit turned off after trying it them at Best Buy and making a fool out of myself. I was abysmal at that sheeit.

Kinda weird that these are the exact three things Jeff Gerstman took a dump on in his video review on Gamespot. I gotta say that game did look like it was for ps2.

I decided today that I'm going to save some money from Christmas and get an HDTV soon. I want a nice 32" 720p set. How much you think that'll run?

$400-$600.

It's just too ambitious. It promised a whole lot it's not delivering on, and the price is high.

I'd still like to try it out though. And until then, I'll play GH3.

I hate how the Rock Band at Best Buy is really broken.
I played it today and the strum bar is horrible.
The yellow tom on the drum was broken...

I wanna try it at its best.
Because Rock Star is too much -- both in content and price.
$100 vs $170?

Might as well drop the extra $70 and get the better game of the two.
Is there really a big difference from 720p and 1080p?
Depends on TV size... what is it... when you get near 50" that's where 1080p becomes noticeable... something like that! Zooooo! Dalllllop!

Drums are fucking hard. I'm pretty musical (used to play the trumpet), but multitasking layered rhythm is just ridiculously hard. Playing the drums is a more complex version of patting your head and rubbing your stomach.

There are times the visuals look like a PS2 title ported to the next-gen, but there are times where they just look amazing -- the lighting, in particular.
$400-$600.
That's what I was hoping. I don't want or need anything bigger than that really. I'm going to keep an eye out on deals.

I just said I didn't think Rock Band was better, though. ;o

I'm not gonna drop an extra $70 (and a full $170) on something I don't want to play.

The only thing I really hate about Guitar Hero is the boo boo-ass set lists. I don't want to play those "classic" (note the quotes) rock songs, such as Cherry Pie and whatever piece of dogshit Poison rode on in the 1980s.

fuck that trash.

Fixed.
I called it before you!
But you don't matter.

Well, it is officially...um...official.

My Xbox 360 is now just an X-360. Came home and it tried to get me in the holiday spirit by going from a green power light to the red rings of death. I think only the towel trick may be able to bring a little life back to it.

I know why it died though. Because I'm expecting Orange Box and GHIII to arrive this week. :bomb:

It probably only waited this long because I'm not a Halo fan...

Yeah, but Rock Band probably will have more DLC. Don't you think being able to play the entirety of Nevermind is worth the extra $70 in itself?
I can understand price(I'm splitting it three-ways, I think) but what do you mean 'bout that content?
Y'know, when you think about it... if you have a significant other who is into the music/rhythm games too and you want to play together guitar hero =~ rockband in terms of cost.

For chika and I, it'd be $170 for rockband right? And one of us could play drums and the other guitar, or one could sing and the other could instrumentalize.

With GH if we wanted to play together, it'd either be "buy it for PS2, since I have 2 guitars for PS2 from the past 2 games" or "buy it on PS3, buy second guitar for PS3". The second and more likely option would be $100 + cost of second guitar, which has to be 40 or more... $140 vs $170 is a lot closer in price... and hell, I'd rather play the drums anyway. ;)
