^ That's only relevant if you don't already own these games. If you're a true fan you imported them by now. I thought this thread was full of hardcore gamers... guess I was wrong.

so I go to dustloop to see if I can watch local matches and shyt that ppl record n upload.

shyt all sucks man!! doods cant play this game worth shyt!

but sum doods in Tennessee decided to hold a tournament... a big tournament... at a person's house!!

fuckin death of arcades man, lol!

but doods from a lot of states came in and stayed at the commutable distance hotel and whatnot.

after the tournament, they all had a bbq too!!

anyway, these doods brought heat (or at least the good ones did... they havent uploaded any vids of ppl scrubbin it).

so in the vid I posted, check the 2nd match between Jam & Pot.

end of 2nd round and beginning of 3rd round, Jam sticks Pot up against the wall and starts wailing on him and shyt! it's so awesome!

she also tries to go for the insta-kill in one round too but triggers it too far away from the opponent...

My appologies, I unfortunatelly I am a CAG and as you already know, importing games is rather expensive. Trust me I am a hardcore gamer. Maybe not by your definition, but I am none the less.

classic ol' raspy. guess this isn't a good time to mention that supporting U.S. releases is more helpful to U.S. fans than supporting Japanese releases, where these games are already popular.


My appologies, I unfortunatelly I am a CAG and as you already know, importing games is rather expensive. Trust me I am a hardcore gamer. Maybe not by your definition, but I am none the less.

Hardcore Gaming 101 is a very informative site. Their article on Shin Megami games is excelent. They have good info on little tid-bits about games you wouldn't normally know.

Yea... It's the newer version (C) which has a bunch of gameplay tweaks, in addition to online play.

The hardcore VF community is definately moving on to 360.

Any idea how the graphics stack up against the PS3 version? I remember the first screens looked a bit off in terms of texture quality...
 
The 360 version def has better AA than the PS3 one...

The only - I'd throw at the 360 version is the longer load times...(pretty long for a fighting game)...

Speaking of long load times. I can't stand the load times for VS mode Arcana Heart matches... I'm so glad that I put it on my HDD..
 
I can easily deal with longer load times if it means revised gameplay, better graphics, and online play. Hoo boy, no regrets about selling the PS3 one now.
 
Let me know if you're able to get your copy MM. I might try picking one up tomarrow. And let me know if you see the VF5 stick, I'm gonna need to pick up one of those too. Speaking of which anyone know what graphic is on it?

Who else is gonna be apart of our VF5 community? So far I can expect to see Chacrana & MM, possibly ReRo. BTW, how good are you guys?
 
Won't lie -- I'm a damn scrub. I was decent enough to destroy anyone with Lei Fei in VF4 Evo, but... it's not like Naperville IL is bringing the heat with the competition.

But yeah, I need to get me a stick and I will be playing VF5 online a lot. It's like DOA 4, but with depth.

Wish there were more tits though... then again, aren't there some hooker outfits for the girls in this new version?
 
Yeah, VF has never been a titty game. DOA does beat VF in that department. But VF has always tried to stay away from that anime look with a more realistic tone, and I guess that means less boobage. The thing is I can't play VF unless I have that stick. Just can't use a normal controller.

I think I'm decent with Lei Fei. I was able to hold my own in Japan, but I normally got my ass kicked. I just need some sit down time in the training mode to learn all the new stuff with Lei Fei.

Mine looks like that, but it's blank and comes w/ Virtua Fighter stickers that you put on yourself. I opted not to put any on and it instead just has that plain green base. Very plain looking, but cool.
 
As I mentioned a few pages back I was having problems with my DOA4 HORI arcade stick. I was hoping JEKKI or Markman cold help me out. Anyways I opened it up and here's what I found, one wire caught my attention, I marked it with a red arrow:

^ I'm not sure is it's normal to have that wire just hanging around not connected to anything but I found it a little odd. I couldn't figure out if it went anywhere either. Here's a close up pic:

I'd appreciate any help, and also if someone happens to have a HORI 360 stick, could you open yours up and see if that piece is connected to anything. I'd really appreciate it. This stick cost me about $60 and it would suck to have it broken.
 
I was considering getting the 360 version. The only problem I'd have is with the 360 controller's dpad from hell. How easy is it to mod a Hori joystick? I've built one in the past, so I'm competent enough. It's either mod a Hori, or go buy a 360 controller and turn it into a joystick. I wish someone would put out a converter.

As far as VF5 goes, the only noticeable difference with the graphics to me is the 360 has less jaggies but isn't as clean. It would be nice if they would just patch the PS3 version and throw in online play, but that's probably not happening. I roll Akira, Aoi, Sarah, and Pai, with a little Wolf for good measure. Used to roll Jacky until VF4 Evo; I didn't like how they changed him. I'd love to play this online, just not with the 360's demon dpad.

If my TRU has VF4 I'll be getting it tomorrow. I'm swinging by my college to sort some stuff out for next semester and then go to gameworks and play some 2Spicy since I got $10 free in credits the other day.

they are either touched up or direct feed... supposedly they are direct since everyone who has seen the game in person has stated how this is the most eye bursting game yet.

I think my head shake too much???

anyway lots of errors... two execution errors during air combo followups (both in first round, they didnt get finished with 63214S or FB), two bad habit errors (air dash in and 63214S, I got this habit from playing cpu but have been able to cease doing it), one time I was low blocking and decided to high block the moment I was low attacked (seriously wtf), lots of whiffed 2H getting punished by IAD, NO countering, and failure to DAA costing me the match...

I'm practicing a lot of new moves and tactics tho! it'll be dope.
 
VF5 will be mine. Getting it for free by trading in 3 garbage games (because EB in Canada is only a SLIGHT Epic failure).
I'm pretty bad, considering I used to play VF3 in arcades, but thats it. I CAN tell you that KAGE is the master of the infinite world.

Just played some Fatal Fury off of FF Battle Archives. Man, Raiden is a cheap fuck. I tried and failed to beat him for 15 minutes. I was Terry, and he'd either blow mist, do his god priority belly flop, or low kick me. Schooled my ass that way. Then I pick Joe, and the fucker does 2 creeping low punches into some powerbomb slam or some shit. I quit.

Time to play some Fatal Fury Special so I can be Geese Howard and crush everyone.

It's the new body of Astaroth. Since he's just a golem (all you D&D people should know this inside out) he's not a real person and made up of stuff... ie. Frankenstein.

as for nails... thanks for cutting them Rodimus :) I need to cut mine as well, but house sitting makes it hard to know where my nail clippers are.

It has a problem recognizing right?

If that's the case it might be the actual cable that connects to the 360.

Usually with Hori sticks that's the first wire to get fucked up... Especially if you roll up your cord around the stick....

Yeah, it just doesn't recognize it. I did wrap my cord around the stick. Didn't know that was a no no. Guess I'm fucked then. Thanks for the help.

RD... You can TRY buying a new VF5 stick and just swapping out the insides/returning it... it's a bit shady but hey, it's better than losing $60.

EDIT - Oh yeah, I was going to remind asianxcore that in 3 months VF5 on the 360 won't be $60, it'll be 30-40. I really loved VF4 Evo but I can wait a few months to save the money.
