To go along with the character profiles released a few days ago, Tekken-Official has updated the official Tekken 6 site with 17 new screen shots and 6 characters have been added to the roster.

Can you use the board from that madcatz 360 atari-like joystick controller?

It's on clearance for under $17.99 at Best Buy. Cheapest 360 controller that you can sacrifice, provided that it's usable.

Thanks Rolento, exciting stuff. I'm really looking forward to MBAA. I've gotten used to no guard meter in MBACvB so I anticipate this game to throw a monkey wrench in a lot of play styles.

I already got Virtua Fighter from Rightstuf last year. It's really cool because the games show little personality of the characters, but the anime really makes them come to life. Akira is freaking cool, and Pai-chan is awesome too.

I also think the Fatal Fury OVAs are great, especially the motion picture. Makes me wish they included Andy Bogard and more Fatal Fury characters in CvS2.
 
I forgot about that Virtua Fighter anime. But the Fatal Fury anime is still my favorite video game to anime adaptation to date. The only thing good about the Tekken anime was the soundtrack. Stabbing Westward FTW

VF5 may be the first online fighting game that is lag-free...
...it is however the 5th Virtua Fighter that is fun-free.

I second the Fatal Fury anime. Yes the story was convoluted at times, and very far from the actual FF storyline, but it was the best put together, best drawn, and best action in any of the fighter based movies. Plus the breasts in that movie are breaking laws of physics 90% of the time.

I was never really a VF guy myself. I guess you could say I RESPECT the game but I don't love it. I do have a copy of VF4evo that I've been meaning to screw around with though.

The lack of colorful characters definitely was a turnoff. You had Blanka and Chun Li and Sub Zero elsewhere. Meanwhile VF has "Jeff" and "Mike" or whoever. And as a youngin' at Nathan's I was all like WTF those polygons r gay.

I'm liking what I hear about this lag-free online play. This must certainly bode well for SSF2THD, yes? Didn't they specifically delay that to make the online experience better?

Mai definitely inspired DOA if nothing else.

Plus, the FF Anime makes a sweet music vid. I made this from my VHS copy so the quality is meh.

Good shit Apossum. I love that game. I brought my DS to my girlfriend's place hoping I could play online, but my DS hates every connection I can find.

Also thanks for the screens Rolento. I'm really looking forward to both the new Arcana Heart and the new Melty Blood.

I really hope I can pick up the first Arcana Heart game before the new year hits.

I can't seem to connect with any of the access points around here. So I'll probably have to wait until I get back to my place on Monday. We could try to get a match going that week.

That's fine if you use cards :). I finally stopped fighting it and made a deck catered to people who are card-heavy online.

NOT HAPPY THAT THIS FILM SOUNDS LIKE GARBAGE!

I emailed Screen Gems and Crystal Sky in hopes to get in contact with Charles Stone III(Director) so I can disscuss with him some of the finer points of Tekken... but man, based on that report it looks like the movie is too far into production to be changed....
 
Man, I'm gonna go Jekki over that BS Tekken script. I read about the slides of Marshall Law and I fucking hate the movie already.
You don't make Marshall Law Jin Kazama's bitch and get away with that shit.

The screenwriters, producers, and director can all eat a dick!

Edit: and nice try getting hollywood to make a "real" Tekken film, MM. They'd never listen anyway.

anyone think it's worth it to order 3000 yen for PSN at $35 a pop at NCSX? There's quite a few decent PS1 fighters I'd like to have on both my PS3 and PSP since I sue my PSP alot and I'd like to have some decent stuff on my PS3 finally.

I personally don't.

Rough week this week (socially, not academicall - academically I'm still kicking ass) so I'm thinking about going home next weekend and just veg out for like 48 hours straight and play Marvel 2 (Sentinel/Cable/Blackheart & the occasional Magneto FTW).
 
I don't think it'd be worth it unless you ABSOLUTELY want those games....

I got a 5000 yen ticket and still have like 2000 yen left over after my initial JPN T5DR ONLINE purchase lol...
 
I wouldn't pick up a yen card unless you can buy it at face value. The mark up the import site would charge just isn't worth it, IMO.

I have the new Arcadia... and I'm kinda happy/sad at the same time...

Usually Arcadia does 2-4 pages on Tekken 6. I'm fine with that. Good amount of info.

I get the December issue in early and I open it up...

What do I see? Tekken 6 has fucking 20 PAGES of coverage.

DAMN. It's going to be a bitch to SCAN and GET info from that....

You could get the HK dollars instead. I forget what the exact breakdown is but for the same price from NCSX, you can get 6 PSX games instead of 5. The HK store isn't as big as the JP store but it still gets updated every 5 weeks or so (the PSX section that is). Plus they get some of the US games in the HK store so you could buy those if more games ever come out.
