Neat find, but I'm going to guess no value. Penn and Teller meet with fans and sign autographs every night after their show in Las Vegas, so I'm certain there are thousands of books and programs out there with their signature on it, in fact I've got an autographed program at home myself that I got when I saw them in Vegas 4 years ago. It has more sentimental value than monetary value
Sorry - it was "cruel tricks for dear friends". ABE has a few signed copies listed for $40 and up, and there is one signed copy listed on Amazon for $80. I guess it was a pretty good find.

looks like its a console week for me:

another NES (console only) $5
Sega Saturn (console only) $7.99
PS2 Nobunaga's Ambition: Iron Triangle CIB mint $4

I picked up a Monster Video S-Video/AV cable for the original Xbox for $3 today from a further off Salvation Army store.

The same SA store had some PS3 games sitting in the case there and I just had to laugh at the prices, which ranged from $20-30 EACH. They had games like Resident Evil 5, Motorstorm and a couple other ones, but still....:whistle2:# .

FYI: This was the Ithaca(NY) store along Route 13 North. I was up in the area for work and I decided to pop in on my way home.

Well, I had a terrible yard sale day today, but that was pretty much made up for with my amazing thrift day.

$2 each, for a total of $10. Not too shabby.

$2 each. Not the best deal, but some good music and a good flip.

While waiting for my wife to sort through the massive amounts of brand new kids' clothes at this thrift, I found a bunch of japanese language books. The values on these range from $1 to $60. I paid $1 for soft cover and $1.50 for hardbacks. I also found a Zelda wind waker w/ Ocarina of time strategy guide.

And the best find. Two copies of Spyro for $1 total.

That's a Maudlin of the well trilogy if anyone is familiar with them. Found it at the same thrift. I never would have expected to find avant-garde metal at that particular thrift especially.

any help on pricing this game? The only one I saw on ebay was $500 brand new. That isn't correct. Any thoughts on value?

Various stuff with the best obviously being DragonSeeds

Regarding the pog pitching game, its really hard to figure out a price since its not too common at all. The problem is, if its not too sought after the value will fluctuate a lot. On boardgamegeeks there's one going for 20.xx on the marketplace http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/34155/donkey-kong-country
My suggestion is going to somewhere such as a comic or collectable shop and/or convention and getting a price from a dealer. Who knows, they might offer you a good deal.

One of my local thrifts had a box with a bunch of common NES and Sega Master System games today for $3 each. I passed on everything there, but keep wondering what might have been in there Sunday, the date which the price tags were marked.

They also had a couple of good gray n64 controllers for $3.50 each, which I bought. I can never get enough decent n64 controllers for $2 or $3 each for the bundles I make to dump unwanted systems/games. Slightly annoying that some other n64 controllers were $2 each 2 weeks ago and these were $3.50 today, oh well.

Also Passed on a PS One for $18.

Typical day at my local thrift.

I hit both of my thrift stores, which is no easy task sans automobile. All I found were sealed PC copies of Mortal Kombat 3, three copies of Virtua Fighter and a ton of copies of CyberJudas. So in four miles of walking I ended up with a 90 cent copy of Go Ask Alice. But I did find a whole can of Old Milwaukee on the sidewalk.

But I had my entire day made in Big Lots when this little girl who could barely talk picked up a copy of Hellraiser on DVD and said "mommy I want this!"
All I found were sealed PC copies of Mortal Kombat 3
Just an FYI, Mortal Kombat games for the PC are actually pretty valuable - looks like 3 isn't worth as much as 2 or 4, but a sealed copy could probably fetch $30 - $40 on eBay. I just sold a boxed copy of the second game (not new) for $30 and only had it listed for a few hours.

Picked up :psp: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. I thought it was an import at first, but it turns out the case and instruction booklet are from the Japanese version, but the UMD appears to be in all English so I don't think it's the imported version.

The Goodwill gravy train is officially over in my area. I went in today and the lady was biting my head off because I asked why she is pricing the games based on eBay. Her immediate response was "Legend of Zelda 2 for NES is worth 34.99. and we are selling it for $17. If you don't like it go on eBay. I don't care." I'm officially done with Thrift Stores. It seems like everyone thinks that they have a rare game when in actuality it's all crap.

Tons of $4 sports games- PASS
$15 dirty original Gameboy-PASS
$29.99 Modern Warfare2 Xbox360-PASS

Give it a few months. When nothing sells they will end up dropping the prices again.

Hi everyone!

Today I picked up kinda a weird item at goodwill for .99, and was hoping maybe someone could help me out with a little more information! It's a Killer Instinct "Gold Cuts" CD soundtrack, published by Nintendo/Rare.

I'm thinking it's uncommon, I can't find anything to compare it to online (no ebay, amazon, or anything!)! I guess just because it's uncommon doesn't mean it's necessarily worth anything, but figured I'd ask if anyone had ever heard of these! (I read on one site that they were only offered through Nintendo Power, not sure if that's accurate)

Thanks in advance!

You might need to find a nest of video game soundtrack collectors on that one; usually I just price stuff like that around $25 (imagining the upper level for what I'd pay for a soundtrack that I was really nuts about, i.e. Robotech 25th Anniversary Edition). Btw, if you do find some OST collectors let them know that I have a Zone of the Enders CD :p

The Killer Instinct Soundtrack was a pack in that came with the game when it came out for SNES. It's not worth much of anything I don't think.

I gotta get a phone, preferably one with internet so I can look up game values on the fly. I passed up a Bubble Bobble(w/ Rainbow Islands) for PS1 the other night at a further off Salvation Army stores for $1.99. It was in good/very good shape and complete.:bomb:

Mine's been displaying that oh-so-valuable Quarterback Club 98 in their glass case for nearly a year.

HAHA they mustve read my post from yesterday. Wasnt gonna go to GW today but I had to mail some Ebay stuff and get some bubble envelopes for more Ebay stuff so I said "what the hell im already out". Nothing on any shelves as expected but they had 7 of them big blues bins sitting out so im digging through them and see Lego Racer for N64, throw it back in and keep digging.

Banjo Kazooie and Super Smash Bros-$3 apiece (ive noticed the people who have worked there awhile do this instead of $4). Cartridge only but nice labels.

Found the case and booklet for Namco Museum for DS but they couldnt find the game so no dice on that one.

My GW usually never has any good games/dvd's but today they had a pretty decent selection of dvd's marked at $4. First time seeing a Wii game and it was the only one in there.

Mario & Sonic Olympic Winter Games (Wii) $4
Planet Earth The Complete Series (HD DVD) $4
Nirvana Rock Review (DVD) $4

Some other notables I didn't get were Reno 911 Complete Fist Season, Ghostbusters 1 & 2, American Gangster.
Picked up 2 records today also.

Edit: Forgot I also went to Salvation Army. Got a cool FIFA World Cup 2006 Germany shirt brand new for $1.50 and a nice Civil War hardcover book for $1.
Today was a very nice thrift store day!

Had been a while since I'd shopped Thrift shops in my area so I hit a Teen Challenge on Tuesday.

Sonic 2 cart/case - pass
Original Xbox no cords - pass

They did have a good selection of vinyl records but $5-$10 for what they had made me hang onto my cash.

Just FYI, when I bought a bunch of stuff from a closing game company in my city I managed to pick up two exclusive Jesper Kyd soundtracks that were never released to the mainstream market (Kane & Lynch: Dead Men and a 26 track Assassin's Creed OST). I was able to sell them pretty easily for $200 each, so $25 is definitely a low target for OST collectors.

Found a complete and new?(discs were new and installation disc is still sealed) FFXI for PS2 with the hard drive for $25.

I'm interested in either flipping it or seeing about turning a old fat ps2 into a system where games can be run from the hard drive.

That sounds nuts to me; I guess it depends on what you have though.

Picked up two items from the local Goodwill today:

1x sealed copy of Tetris World for PC, cd and case only.
1x Star Wars: Knights of the Republic, without manual, and scratched up disc. Game still plays though. I'm interested in flipping this. Any advice on the price range I should set?
That sounds nuts to me; I guess it depends on what you have though.
Definitely, like I said the two CDs I had were not released to the market in any capacity. The composer himself made the CDs and sent them exclusively to game developers to attempt to get more work. I'm pretty sure the AC OST was one of a kind.

So in the past 2 days:

Sega Saturn (system only)
Trans Blue Dual Shock 1 controller (Official)
Vandal Hearts
Wild Arms
Tobal No 1
Parasite Eve 2 (missing the first disc)
Sly 3 soundtrack

Most I paid for any of these was 5 bucks. Planning to flip most of them or put them up for trade...but I don't know if I'll be able to flip Parasite Eve 2...anyone think I can flip it for a decent price?

Also saw some Sega CD games but nothing that was rare. Only notable one I saw was Mickey Mania. If that can be flipped for a decent price, I may have to go back for it...

You could sell it off piece by piece as "replacement disks/replacement case" on ebay in seperate listings.

Just got a Limited Edition Mountain Dew Xbox at the Goodwill. It needs a little cleaning, but it works perfectly. Is this worth anything?
Just got a Limited Edition Mountain Dew Xbox at the Goodwill. It needs a little cleaning, but it works perfectly. Is this worth anything?
Yes. There were only 1000 made.

From Wikipedia
Mountain Dew

Units Available: 1000
Retail Price: Not For Sale

The Mountain Dew Limited Edition Xbox was only available through a Mountain Dew sweepstakes requiring loyal Dew-drinking Xbox fans to amass 550 points in order to "buy" the Limited Edition Xbox. The sweepstakes spanned 5 months – from April to August – in 2004. Production was limited to 1000 units. The Mountain Dew Limited Edition Xbox was neon-green colored and had a special jewel atop the Xbox that had the words "Limited Edition" and the Mt. Dew logo under the Xbox name. Included with the neon green console was one of two games: Project Gotham Racing 2 or Amped 2.

I worked with a guy who owned one of the limited edition Mountain Dew xboxes. He asked me over and over again to mod it for him. I refused every time. I knew it was very limited and even then, in my pirate phase, there was no way I would open and deface the thing. I even offered to buy the thing at full retail price.

The guy got someone else to do it, but at least I wasn't the one that ruined it.

Sweet! I found it for $10 I knew it was at least somewhat rare so I couldn't pass it up. Now I have more incentive to give it a cleaning lol.

Mickey Mania goes for about $15 - so it's an okay flip.

I wouldn't say I got a bargain, but I finally found Lunar 2 for the PS1 for $26. It didn't have the manual or most of the special edition extras (just the "Making of" disc), but considering how hard it's been just to find the game, I'd say it was worth it.

$26 at a thrift store? dam...still a good deal tho. I found my copy at a SA for $1.99, mine came with the 3 cd's and the "making of cd" too. No manual, but i think the only manual was the hardcover one. i dont think there was a manual in the actual case. I could be wrong tho.
