TOUR DATES!

YES!!! ROCK ON! I can't believe it has been 5 years since their last album. I am going to have really high expectations for this album. Also, I really hate how they have released the last two albums (that I know of) around spring time. Couldn't they release it at the onset of winter. Winter is a better time of year to listen to Tool. Anyways, I discussed.

All of this information and you don't even post that it's coming out MAY 2ND?

I love a perfect circle, but I hope he doesnt mix the mellow-ness/melodic-ness of APC into tool too much. That's what alot of bands do, once a really mellow sound gets a hit, they make everything they do the same style etc.

I dont know if that made sense. but its late and i need sleep.

good night and thanks for the good news.

Tool has always been cool and kind of mysterious in my book. Heard a few songs and they were good. Might try to get into them with a new album if it's any good.

Great News. I can't wait. I hope they do another small venue tour right when the album drops. I was at that first show at Atlanta when Lateralus came out. It was amazing. Thanks for the infoe

I love Tool but god I hate the way they name their songs. May 2nd is going to be a fun day at the record store - Pearl Jam's new CD coming out as well.

Jambi?

Ah Tool. [reminds 'self to see if their doing another small venue tour again like they did with the release of Lateralus]

Wow, my wife is going to have an interesting birthday week. In that it's more "happy birthday to me" than to her. ;-)
Damn, has it really been 5 years since high school? I feel old.
hah, five years from high school for me as well. Built to Spill have an album coming out in April. They haven't had one out in five years either.

Sweet !
Just in time for Derby Weekend here in KY. I guess all of my buddies at the annual Derby bash and I will have this one going "repeat all" while all of our g/f and wives complain that that's all we're listening to.

I saw them 3 times on the Lateralus tour.

I can't wait. And I can't believe it's been that long.
i hope we dont get online leaks, i know its been a long 5 years, but i want to expierence this album in its entirity
You could, you know, just not listen to them.

Any Tool cd is good enough that when you listen to it over and over, you can't believe that 5 years have gone by without a new one coming out.

Tool are like a fine wine - they just keep getting better with age.
any online leaks yet?
their is a fake torrent running around out their. I heard not to download it. I think it freelance artist trying to get some plays.

I remember when Lateralus tracks were "leaked" that they were all b.s. tracks reportedly put out there by Maynard et al to fool folks into believing that they were real.

10,000 days is an interesting album name, I'm not a casual TOOL fan so in the tool forums we're all trying to already decide where they're going with the album name and song titles. Any ideas? They love math equations 46 + 2, parabola, eighty six, so where they going with 10,000 days? I supposed it could be the amount of time till the next album gets released when this one does ha. Although after reviewing that would be 27.39726027397260273972602739726 years so I hope not.

Man I remember picking up lateralus from the midnight release and all of us at the record store listening to it on their blaring systems, it was religious.

To date I've seen TOOL live 26 times and met danny carey my idol

Seeing your sig reminds me of how funny it was hearing stoners be all into that Die Eier Von Satan song and think it was all bad ass and stuff and how they they thought they were gonna be part of Satan's minions or something by listening to that song but all they were doing was listening to a guy give a cookie recipe.

UND KEINE EIER!!

I love Tool .. I predict a tour starting late May.

As long as they don't mess it up like they did hte last APC album (I'm more of an APC fan), then I can't wait until this comes out.
I don't understand why people like Tool this much.

They're not bad, but why do people treat their album releases like high holidays?
Because unlike most other rock bands, the albums stand as a whole, not just a bunch of songs/singles put onto the same disc. Also there have been no let-down discs, each has been incredible.

Viginti tres is 23 in Latin, so I'm not sure what they mean by that track title...

Lipans were a group of Apache Indians living in Texas and later Mexico, and "conjure" means to summon by magical or supernatural power. Interesting...

tool is such a tight knit group I don't think it will leak early. So I guess I should just stop thinking about it till May 2nd. I can't stop thinking about it though.

I wouldn't bank on that thought.

The 2 APC albums are comletely different. I see what you're saying. I really didn't like the 2nd one much when I first started listening to it. I really didn't like the more "radio friendly" songs. But I came to realize that while the 1st album had better songs, the 2nd one was a better album on the whole, or more than just a collection of songs.

I believe she's referring to the emotive CD, that CD was horrible IMO (other than 2 songs).

I loved their first 2 cds (mer de noms, 13th step) though.

I think Mer De Norms is their best, but Thirteenth Step is pretty good as well. Emotive sucked for the most part, but three of the songs were amazing.

You're right. I guess I didn't think about emotive since I didn't buy it. I really like their cover of John Lennon's 'Imagine.' Those are some of the best sounding drums i've heard since 'Moby Dick.'

Good stuff I love tool. Anybody Dream Theater fans in here?
I was suppossed to be in chicago tonight seeing them but ran short of money and spent the day visiting relatives in the hospital instead :(
Is it May yet ?
You psyched me out by bumping this thread up .. I thought there was gonna be news of a tour

I'm a Dream Theater fan. Wasn't too big on their last couple of albums, though. Scenes from a Memory pt. 2 is one of the best albums ever created. I can't tell you how many times I've listened to it.

theres a bunch of tool tour news, Toolarmy.com gets first dibs on everything, Ive been a member there since the start

Hell yes ... I heard this morning that Tool will probably be in KC on May 11th, at memorial hall. I can't fucking wait.

And hey, that's also where my high school graduation was held.
Passive is the best song off the Emotive cd
I think so too - isn't that the only original song?
