TOOL 10,000 Days--Album Titles Meaning--Tour dates--Lyrics--Discuss
You psyched me out by bumping this thread up .. I thought there was gonna be news of a tour
Sorry,
I thought if I gave a little bump there might be some tour talk.

I just got a 360 today and the first tunes I'm putting on this puppy is the Tool collection. It just made me wish it was May already.
I think so too - isn't that the only original song?
is it original? i thought it was a remake.

According to Wikipedia
The track "Passive" is actually a remake of a song created by Keenan, Trent Reznor, et al for the Tapeworm project which never saw the light of day.
BRAVO APC!
Hell yes ... I heard this morning that Tool will probably be in KC on May 11th, at memorial hall. I can't fucking wait.

And hey, that's also where my high school graduation was held.
Tickets go on sale a couple weeks from now, fuck yes.

I'm getting married May 13th. The new Tool album comes out May 2nd. I'm not sure which one I'm more excited about. . . . I hope my fiancee doesn't read this. :)

Either way, you're going to have a big month, big guy!

It's easy - there are probably less than 10 days in your lifetime where you will be able to wake up and go out and buy a brand new Tool album but after May 13th when you wake up you are going to be married every single day for the rest of your life...
Does anyone have any inside info on American tour dates yet?
I think they've only released Euro dates so far. I signed up at Pollstar.com to notify me about Tool tour dates.
Besides the show here in KC, no.
What type of venue is that at? I really don't want to go to another huge arena show, but if I must...

I hope they do some smaller theaters around Chicago.
He also turns 24, according to his profile.
What a month I have to look forward to!

Especially since you can do so much more once you turn 24, then you could when you were 23;)

I waiting for the big 2-5. Being able to rent a car will be a big milestone in my life.

For those who care, an interview with Adam Jones is in the new Guitar World magazine. It comes in a plastic seal so you can't read it at the store unless you open it up. There's some interesting stuff in there.

I want my jeans creamed but i want to wait to see the WHOLE song and that format SUCKS. Is the video officially released yet? Ill see if i can find it.

CHECK THIS OUT FROM THEIR WEBSITE......................SINGLE
Here's some amazing shit: The new Tool single, "Vicarious" will officially be heard on radio on April 17th. That's all I've got... so to the Fox & Hounds I go.

I love the new song. It is better than anything on Lateralus, IMO. Very good sign for things to come.

Damnit Youtube just romoved the song cause of a violation. I know its not their fault but still. Ever since NBC threated them to take down that Lazy SUnday sketch alot of other people have been making them do it too. I hope the song comes back up tomorrow after the song is officially released.

I've listened this FLAC about 45-65 times and been talking with my TOOLARMY friends and we're trying to figure out lyrics now. This is an AMAZING first single, and MUCH more aggressive than Lateralus' first single Schism. All I can say is MAY 2nd cant come fast enough bitches!

PS drum part at the end is SICK

Hell, the lyrics were out the day it leaked (two days ago).

[1:07]

Eye on the TV
Cuz' tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor, it happens to be
Like about a husband
Drowned by the ocean
Shunned by his own son
He used a poison

[1:27]

---
Kiss your goodbye
It's my kind of story
It's no fun 'til someone dies.

[1:50]

Don't look at me like
I am a monster
Frown out your one face
But with the other
Stare like a junkie
Into the TV
Stare like a zombie
Whi-le the mother

[2:10]

Who holds her child
Watches him die
Hands to the sky, crying
Why, oh why

[2:21]

Cuz' I need to watch things die, from a distance
Vicariously I
Live while the whole world dies
You all need it too, don't lie

[2:47]

Why can't we just admit it [x2]

[2:52]

We won't get --- until the blood is flowing
---
---
We won't get --- until the blood is flowing

[3:08]

I need to watch things die
From a good safe distance
Vicariously I
Live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we just admit it.

[3:58]

Blood like rain come down
Drop and grave and down

[4:09]

Come
Vampire I
---
...
---
To the
Death rattle

[4:29]

La la la la la la la lie [x4]

[5:42]

--- your desire to belive in
Angels in the hearts of men

[5:52]

Pull your head out of --- every reason given, listen
Shouldn't have to say it all again

[6:02]

The universe is hostile, so impersonal
Devour to suffice our soul, it's always been

[6:22]

We all feed
Our tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire

[6:34]

Vicariously I
Live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I

[Eye on / I own] the TV
'cause tragedy thrills me
Whatever flavor
It happens to be

Like:
"Killed by the husband"
"Drowned by the ocean"
"Shot by his own son"
"She used the poison in his tea
[and / he] kissed [him / her] goodbye"
That's my kind of story
It's no fun til someone dies

Don't look me at like
I am a monster
Frown out your one face
But with the other
Stare like a junkie
Into the TV
Stare like a zombie
While the mother, holds her child
Watches him die
Hands to the sky cryin,
"Why, oh why?"

Cause I need to watch things die
From a distance
Vicariously, I
Live while the whole world dies
You all need it too - don't lie.

Why can't we just admit it?
Why can't we just admit it?
We won't give pause until the blood is flowin'
Neither the brave nor bold
Will write us the story so
We won't give pause until the blood is flowin'

I need to watch things die
From a good safe distance
Vicariously, I
Live while the whole world dies
You all feel the same so
Why can't we just admit it?

Blood like rain fallin' down
[Drown on grave and ground / ?? grave ??]

Part vampire
Part warrior
Carnivore and voyeur
Still have the
[transmittal, sing / transmitter, sing / trance, mental sync]
to the death rattle

La, la, la, la, la, la, la-lie (x4)

[Incredulous / Credulous] at best
Your desire to believe in
Angels in the hearts of men.
But pull your head on out
[Your head please / ??] and give a listen
Shouldn't have to say it all again

The universe is hostile
So impersonal
Devour to survive
So it is, so it's always been ...

We all feed on tragedy
It's like blood to a vampire

Vicariously, I
Live while the whole world dies
Much better you than I.

fuck that we did better lol

Credit goes out to the tool army, die hard tool fans

Awwwwwww, shit. Man, I hope the lame-ass radio stations here in Chicago will play the new single this week. Since 94.7 went oldies, and Q101 went to "shuffle", I'm having a hard time hearing any good rock lately.

I think Tool itself is an awesome band, but I think this new single is just "good." I'd be excited if they were coming anywhere near me, and I'd probably go see the show. I also disagree with whoever said that this song was better than anything else on Lateralus. The Grudge, Schism, Parabola, Ticks and Leeches. All great songs.

Yes, "Lateralus" will be a hard album to top. That one is their best yet. It will never come off of my iPod...

1.) Ænima
2.) Undertow
3.) Lateralus

At least by how often I listen to each one. I can't even remember the last time I put Lateralus on.

Tickets are going to be $66, luckily I won't have to pay it (hopefully, but likely).

And an old question I never answered ...
What type of venue is that at? I really don't want to go to another huge arena show, but if I must...

I hope they do some smaller theaters around Chicago.
It's a small arena, probably the closest we'll get to a club show. Oh well, I'll take it.
Sorry to ask this again but anyone heard it on the radio yet?
I just missed it; last song played before I got in the car about an hour and a half ago. :whistle2:( They're supposed to be playing it again around 1 on that station though. :)

I agree. I think each CD is better than the one that came before it - hopefully th trend will continue on the new one!
